CHAPTER 5

"Well, frankly saying I'm kinda upset with you right now!" He turned his head on the other side and avoided looking at her eyes, "I am your husband but you have not told me where you were going so I followed you!"

"Look, I have a lot in my mind right now and I am sorry if I am not telling you what is happening to me!"

"No, you are not really sorry for what you did to me. If I did not pass out and was not dragged here, you would not say such ridiculous things!"

Marco was still upset and Sheila knew that arguing about trivial matters is not right but she did not tell about her deal with Mr. Gonzales to him, not in his condition.

"I wanted to know if you want to keep our relationship or you want to dump me. I am a loser and I did nothing but become a burden to your family!"

"I want you to know that I am not gonna let you leave my house unless you already gained your memory!"

"There is now a way that's gonna happen... not when I am still trapped in this situation. I've got to go to somewhere else, somewhere where I feel appreciated and respected. Unfortunately, it won't happen while I am still inside your house. Sorry Shiela, I owe you and your family my life and I swear to return the favor when I return!"

Shiela looks intimidated and bothered with what she heard from her husband and she finds him stupid but does not have the guts to say it.

"I truly understand how you feel, Marco. But given the circumstances, there is nothing that we can do now except to wait until your memory returns and it's much better if you take a rest and-"

"And what? Swallow my pride and just let your f*cking mom treat me like a trash? I'm sorry Shiela, I already made up my mind and all I wanted was to stay away and have a piece of mind. There is nothing to worry about, I am keeping in touch with you while I am away and only to you!"

"You're getting stubborn, what is happening to you Marco? I am not supposed to say this but it seems like you are gaining your memories again, isn't that right?"

"I honestly can't say... all I wanted was to be away for a while," tears ran down on Marco's face and he turned around to her. "I don't want to spend longer here, you might pay a higher bill!"

Shiela gave Marco an appreciative grin. "You will get out of here once the doctor cleared you. Do not stress yourself too much, Marco!"

Marco closed his eyes as if he was not interested to continue the conversation. Shiela on the other hand, just sat on the nearby couch and silence enveloped the entire room. 10 o'clock in the evening when Marco suddenly woke up and he saw Shiela lying on the couch, sleeping well and there was a food on the table for him. However, he was neither interested to eat nor wake up Shiela.

He forced himself to get out of bed and walked silently until he reached the door. Before he left, he looked at his wife and cried. Inside his mind, he knew that it would not be the last time to see each other. He walked barefoot in the middle of the dark hallway of the hospital alone. No one was walking except for him and no matter how he tried to walk silently, the sound of his feet touching the ground is echoing.

As he was about to exit the hospital, he realized that he forgot his wallet and cellphone. The desperation to leave immediately made him forgetful for a while. Out of options, he turned around but he saw Mr. Gonzales in front of him and he has two body guards on his left and right side. All of them are wearing black corporate attire.

"Did you forget something, Marco?" asked Mr. Gonzales.

For some reason, Marco's body started shaking and another flash of blurred memory came into his mind that he held his head and his whole face crooked in pain.  "W-who a-are you? D-did we meet somewhere?"

"You don't need to remember my name," Mr. Gonzales answered. He then put his hand on his pocket and showed Marco his phone and wallet. "Are these yours? It seems that you're in a hurry and you've forgotten your belongings!"

"Yes, those are mine. I am going to repeat my question again, who the hell are you and why are you looking at me like you are planning something?"

Mr. Gonzales dragged his feet to where Marco is while talking calmly. "Alright, you will die anyway so you I guess there is no point of hiding it. Let me help you remember a tiny bit of your past: you are the son of the multi-billionaire businessman I considered my closest rival," he took a deep breath before speaking again. "That bastard who took everything from me, I almost thought of committing suicide that night... but you showed up and it was really a good thing I recognized in the midst of the night I called a nightmare. To cut the story short, I just got rid of the only heir of his company!"

As Mr. Gonzales expected, Marco was trembling in shock. "You should be thanking me, I am helping you regain your memory... at least before you die!" he said nonchalantly.

"W-why... if you have a grudge to my parents, why attack me instead of them? I am not involved in this matter to begin with!"

Mr. Gonzales smirked. "You really are a fool, your filthy rich father is about to die and there is no one taking over his position. I am relieved that none of his subordinates seems to have a potential to match or even surpass his performance, and neither you... Vincent Montereal!"

"M-my name is Marco... I am not Vincent Montereal," answered Marco who was still confused with what is going on.

"That was the name I gave you when I intentionally hit you in the head with my car. Too bad, I intended of killing you back then but got failed, and now that you are within my reach, I will not hesitate to send you to hell!"

Two men dressed in black appeared at the back of Marco and it seems that he did not notice them coming because his attention was only on the people in front of him.

"Do you even ask yourself why there is no one here except us? Well, the answer is simple: This hospital belongs to me and I ordered all the employees to temporarily leave this place. I hope your tiny brain realizes how powerful I am. There is nothing that my money can't buy. For as long as I have it, I can turn things into my favor, like bribing the doctor who is in charge of you two years ago so they remained silent about the accident I planned!"

One of the men in coat tapped Marco's should and the moment he turned his head, he put his handkerchief filled with sleeping pills on Marco's mouth and he instantly passed out.

"Dragged him to the cemetery and I will bury him alive to the pit I dug!" ordered Mr. Gonzales, "he is the perfect vessel to avenge myself from that man who ruined my businesses!"

Without hesitation or complaints, the two men dragged Marco's unconscious body to the car of Mr. Gonzales and they headed to the cemetery where his wife was buried. As they arrived to the cemetery, a heavy rain suddenly poured out from the skies.

"Even the rain is already mourning for your inevitable death, Vincent!" said Mr. Gonzales as he was looking at the front mirror.

The car has finally stopped in front of the partially covered pit where five men were standing. They happily intercepted their boss and covered him with their umbrella the moment his feet touched the ground.

"Is everything okay here?" asked Mr. Gonzales as they started walking towards the newly engraved pit.

One of his bodyguards answered. "Of course sir, everything has been prepared as planned!"

"That is a good thing to know. Anyway, I have a change of hearts. I realize how boring it would be if I just buried the so-called heir of Montereal Family alive. Since he's about to die, it might be better to make him suffer so once he went to hell, he is used to experiencing excruciating pain!" The calmness of Mr. Gonzales voice silenced his bodyguards. They knew that he is a cruel person and he would do whatever it takes to get what he wants, even if he stepped on someone else's life.

Two bodyguards who were carrying Marco woke him up by beating him.

Mr. Gonzales grabbed him by his hair and forced him to open his eyes. "Get up you bastard... we are not yet done. You have yet to experience the true pain!"

Marco was full of bruises on his face and he was not recognizable anymore. He opened his eyes and he could no longer see clearly because his eyes were black eyed. He begged Mr. Gonzales to stop torturing him.

"Pl-please stop Mr. Gonzales... I have suffered a lot and I can no longer bear the pain on my shoulder!"

"That's the problem Vincent... I cannot inflict pain to my rival in business, only to you. Besides, I cannot allow you to live either!" he looked at his other bodyguards and ordered them. "Go ahead and bury him alive before the rain gets worse!"

They followed what Mr. Gonzales has said, they put him on the wooden coffin with cross sign in the middle. Then they put his cellphone and wallet along with him, closed the coffin and dug his grave.

"That's enough. Tomorrow morning, we will revisit him again to see his dead body!" said Mr. Gonzales.

The moment they left the area, Marco did his best to untie his hands and shouted at the top of his lungs. Yet, there was no sign that someone is coming to rescue him. Five minutes later, a man in a red hoodie jacket went to his pit and shovel it to help Marco get out of his coffin.

Marco felt suffocated and he could barely walk on his feet. However, he forced to open his swelling eyes and a man in red hoodie jacket was standing before him. He curled his lips to smile and thanked him.

"I appreciate your help but why did you help me?" he said as he sounded hoarsey.
