CHAPTER 3

"Marco might be a trash, but I could not deny the fact that he is also a good person. Maybe I am not the one meant for him!" she looked at Simon in the eyes. "Father, I am not yet done. I will go out with Mr. Gonzales but Marco should also have his share, this is just to pay the emotional damage I might inflict on him."

Simon was pissed off with what he just heard. He was not expecting his daughter to be such straightforward and give her husband a little bit of concern.

"I told you, I despise that man from the very beginning. Maybe you are tired of hearing this but he is pretty damn useless. I could care less what he would feel when he finds out about this. Afterall, he is still depending on us to survive, what makes you think that won't be enough to compensate the so called emotional damage we inflict to him?" said Simon who glared at Sheila.

"I could not disagree with that," added Elsie. "I hate wasting my time to explain this to you, Sheila! You are too blinded to see the larger picture of this. Your way of thinking is really disappointing!"

"I mean what I have said. Whether you like it or not, I am not going to proceed with this plan! Marco is already a part of my life, and I cannot endure seeing him not succeeding in life. I still have some part of me that loves him. I know it's crazy but disregarding his feelings is beyond me!" Shiela said, whose voice was so firmed and straightforward.

"Alright, so tell me how much is his share? Make sure that you justified your answer as well!" replied Simon.

Shiela took a deep breath before speaking. "I would like to take 10 percent of our negotiation with Mr. Gonzales and 5 percent of that would go to Marco. That is the only condition I want, nothing more and nothing else!"

Simon clenched his fist against the table which shocked few people in the area. He did not hold back his tongue and spoke angrily. "That is exaggeratedly ridiculous, Shiela! I could not even afford giving him a single penny and you would just give him five million? I thought I just misheard what you said!"

"That piece of trash is a bad luck for our family-" Elsie was about to finish her statement when an old man with white hair and black corporate attire came in. And a small name plate Mr. Gonzales was attached to his chest. Unlike the rumors they've heard, he did not bring any guards or assistant with him. He was not also wearing any expensive luxury items in his body. Perhaps, he does not want to flaunt his disgusting wealth to attract the attention of others.

His eyes were immediately drawn to Shiela who was sitting in front of him. He gave her a rakish smile, while Shiela smile at him awkwardly.

"Look what the cat dragged in, a beautiful young lady that I have only seen in the picture has finally come to my territory. By the way, I am the richest man in this country and I wanted to have a moment with you? Would that be okay?" he sounded arrogantly.

Shiela looked at her family members who were all speechless with Mr. Gonzales' appearance. They all stood up but before leaving, Simon left some words to Mr. Gonzales.

"I am hoping that this negotiation will not be in vain and may your eyes enjoy feasting on my precious daughter," he put his mouth next to Mr. Gonzales' ears. "I assured you that she can make you happy than your ex-wife!"

Mr. Gonzales only grinned with what he has heard. Then Simon, along with his wife and his daughter Olivia left the conference room. Just to make sure, Mr. Gonzales locked the door to avoid anyone interrupting his conversation with Shiela. He sat across her and leaned on the chair.

"Mr. Gonzales, I would like to formally introduce myself! I am Shiela, married to a piece of garbage named Marco. But there is nothing to worry about, he is not going to stop me from doing what I want!"

The wide smile on Mr. Gonzales' face vanished the moment he heard Marco's name. He remembered that there was a guy before whom he accidentally hit and ran. He just bribed with the authorities to escape. As far as he could remember, the guy's name was Marco. According to the last news he received from the doctors, Marco could not remember anything aside from his name. It was such a nightmare for him to even remember his dark past and he regretted not killing him when he still had a chance before.

"That is just okay. If you want, I can take care of your husband. We can get rid of him quickly, all I need is for you to say a word and I will eradicate his entire existence from the face of the earth!" he said calmly, but his eyes looked so adamant.

"Pardon me, Mr. Gonzales but I have no plans of harming my husband, let alone kill him. He has lost his memory and I can just invent some memories for him so he would not bother in our agreement!"

"Well, you left me so speechless and shocked. Who would have thought that you are not only a beautiful woman, but vicious as well. I am starting to like you more... perhaps we have so much in common, Sheila!"

"Don't mention it. By the way, I was not sure if there is a change in the agreement between you and my father. I would like to hear the agreement from your lips!"

"So you don't trust your family after all, is that what you are implying?"

"Let's just say it takes one to know one. I am the bait in this agreement and I have the rights to know what is going. Will you share it to me?"
