Bookworm Club

Bookworm Club members are helping to unload the cardboard from Darren's pickup truck. Inside there are many books for sale on the day of the book fair tomorrow. These cardboard boxes are not lightweight. Especially the cardboard with red tape that the inside contains a hardcover book. The Bookworm Club has unity. It didn't take long for them to put all those boxes down in the storage room behind the library building.

"Phew! It's finally done." Simon sat in a corner of a storage room full of cardboard boxes. He used the back of his hand to wipe the sweat on his forehead. He had to rest for a moment.

Simon Smith is a skinny man. Leftover light brown haircut on a slim oval face and blue eyes like crystal. Overall, he was quite handsome and charming. Even though his figure looks weak If compared to other young men in college. In fact, he was a rather strong and tough man than his appearance.

He is one of the regular members of the bookworm club. On the other hand, many people tend to rely on him. He was fond of reading and interested in writing. Sometimes people see him as a leader in times of need. He dreams of one day becoming a novelist following in his mother's footsteps.

"I can't believe that tomorrow we have to sell all these books," Darren said.

Darren Garcia is a handsome young tall man with red short hair. His eyes are black on his round face was covered with many freckles. He's easygoing and approachable. He is a fanatic of comics and fantasy novels. Plus, he also likes to listen to glitch-hop music.

He is the advisor of the bookworm club. He is also Simon's roommate and best friend. The first time they met each other, they thought it was strange. But when Simon started talking about fantasy novels. They became close and got along quickly.

"Well...that's Caroline's idea. Our duty is to quickly sell them all. At least some of the profits returned to the club are still good." Simon said.

"Har-har. It's a not-so-cool idea. I don't think people in college like to read books that much. Besides people from our club."

"You're right. Most people these days spend more time on social media than picking up a book to read. In any case, we have to sell it anyway."

"But how?"

"Mhm...Do we make good promotions?"

"Interesting! But I'm not Em or Carol. I'm just a consultant and I don't think that two girls would agree with that idea. You must not forget that our club has to spend a lot of money on these books. If bringing those first-hand books to do promotions. We will definitely be cursed by them." Darren explains the consequences of doing something arbitrarily.

Simon sighed. "I agree with you. So what if we can't sell books?"

"If it was Emily's style, she'd have put those books on the library's bookshelf. But if it was Caroline's style, she'd force us to open the book booth for a few weeks. Hahaha." Darren said jokingly.

"oh my God! I can't see our hope at all. Haha." Simon giggles.

"Let's try to unpack one box, shall we?" Darren offers a prank idea.

"Huh?! I think it's a very bad idea. If Em or Carol finds out, we'll be messed up!" Simon disagrees. He thought that the club president and the club vice president would not like this. If they unpack some only the box before tomorrow.

"Come on, dude. We still have to unpack it anyway. We just unpack some boxes first."

"Are you thinking of breaking the rules?!"

"Hmm...No one sees it, it means we haven't broken the rules."

"But I see!"

"So you pretend to be ignorant. hehe," Darren still insisted on opening the box. His curiosity glands were still active.

Simon holds his temples with a nervous expression. "Damn! Why do I have to come across something like this?"

"Alright, let's just randomly unpack!" Darren picked up a utility knife on the table next to him to cut the tape over one of the boxes.

"Wait a minute! I haven't told you to do that yet!" Simon quickly stopped his friend.

"Don't worry. We have red tape already. Hehe," Darren pointed his thumb at the table where he took the utility knife. There was red roll tape. Although its color is only close to the tape on the box. But he believed that no one would notice.

Simon sighed again. "I'm actually jinxed!" He murmured to himself.

Darren successfully unpacked the box. When he opened the box, he found that there was cushioning foam inside. He took it out and found that each book was sealed tightly in a plastic envelope. Most of the books in the box are novels sold at bookstores. He guessed that this entire box must be all literature category books.

"Whoa! We've hit the jackpot, my friend!" Darren took out some books and examined them.

"Don't unpack the plastic seal, Darren!" Simon quickly stopped his friend from doing something stupid.

"I know that. Don't worry. I just want to see what novels are there."

He took the book out and put it on the table. He brought almost all of them out. But then he was halted when he saw the last book at the bottom of the box. This book does not have a plastic seal like other books. It's a heavy purple hardcover book. Its thickness was probably more than four hundred pages and its condition looks aged. The book's cover was filled with golden strange letters and some kind of weird drawing art that he had never seen before.

"What book is this?" Darren doubts.

Simon walked over and asked his friend for a book. Darren handed it to him without saying anything.

"Hmm... looks like it's some sort of textbook," Simon said while he examined the book.

"I've never seen a textbook like this before. Plus it has some weird characters I don't even know."

"The letters looked like runic symbols."

"Could this be an ancient Viking textbook?"

"Hmm...I don't think so."

Suddenly, something they hadn't expected happened. Those strange characters entered the process of transformation. The letters melted into dust before they morphed together again into letters. This time it became an English alphabet. Eventually, it became like a normal book on a shelf or in a library.

"What the heck! Can you see that, Darren?!" Simon was shocked to see what had happened in front of him.

"Y-Yep! Did I see it mistakenly?" He was as shocked as his friend.

"How did those ancient characters turn into English?!"

"I don't know, my friend! Wait...The Order of Universe? What is this book?"

"Written by Morphioz Kothalus, The First Man of the All Beyond Universe. Who gave such a weird name?"

"It could be...it could be a fantasy novel of some freak writer."

"Are you sure?"

"I...I'm just guessing. I don't know like you!"
