"Freeland has a law that states "superhuman abilities and magic of all forms are prohibited from being practiced. Any civilian caught using their powers in public will be charged with terrorism and arrested immediately"
It is claimed by the government that this law was put in place to prevent the great Meta incident that occurred twenty-five years earlier but the law wasn't doing anything to help the underclassed citizens of the country.
There were people, those that the protection of the government couldn't reach. Those who lived with constant fear in neighborhoods with the highest rates of crime. Those who had the power to fight back but were forbidden to do so by law.
Soon, people grew tired. Those who were brave enough put on masks and took on nicknames in order to do what was right, they were called superheroes." Naomi narrated then took a huge slurp from her milkshake.
"I moved here to join and make a difference" she added as she took another huge slurp.
"So that explains why you were running around in those funny clothes" Natsumi replied
"And why they kept calling you Snowstorm" she said with a smile.
"So, sis" Naomi said
"What brings you to Freeland?" She asked
"Kidnappers" Natsumi replied
Naomi held herself for a moment before bursting into laughter.
"I'm serious" Natsumi said
"I was originally supposed to be in Dahüd"
"But my friends and I were kidnapped and I found myself here"
At first there was an awkward silence between the two, then Naomi gave Natsumi a look of concern.
"Sister" she said in an angry tone
"Did you just say that you and your friends were kidnapped?" She asked
"Yes" Natsumi replied
"That's what I said"
"WHY THE F**K DIDN'T TELL ME THAT SINCE?!!" Naomi yelled in anger
"I... forgot.." Natsumi answered
"YOU WHAT?!!" Naomi shouted
"How could you forget something so important?" She asked
"We're going now before they're in any more trouble"
"Don't worry yourself" Natsumi replied
"Just sit back and enjoy the rest of your milkshake"
"What do mean?" Naomi asked
"How can you be so nonchalant when your friends are in danger?"
Natsumi didn't reply with a word, she simply directed Naomi's gaze to a television with the news on. The headline said "BREAKING: FOREIGNERS CAUSE A STIR".
Anchor: "we have just received reports that someone is publicly displaying their special abilities in the country. Reports say that the suspect is a sixteen year old boy with unusual white hair."
"Suspect is believed to be a foreigner from Fubuki island but there is no information on how he got into the country. No travel agency has records of his arrival and officials are saying that he may have gotten into the country illegally"
"Suspect has refused to cooperate with the local police and is resisting arrest. The retaliation is strong and the police is having a hard time subduing him. Backup has been called for and is on its way"
"In other News, it seems another unmasked civilian has been spotted using powers in public. CCTV footage from different parts of the country show a young man disappearing and reappearing. Security experts are still trying to see how this relates to the previous report"
"Another report just came in. It seems that all the soldiers sent to investigate the restricted area know as 'Goldman field' have been found dead on the scene. The leader of the expedition, commander August Hughes is still missing. Investigations are still going on to uncover what transpired there"
"Do you believe me now?" Natsumi asked as she took another slurp from her milkshake.
Naomi was dumfounded. Her jaw dropped as she watched was going on in the news. It took her a few seconds to regain herself and sit back down to continue drinking her milkshake.
"I may need more of this after all" Naomi said as she signaled for more
"So" she said as she looked at Natsumi with a smile
"Is your man among the troublemakers?" She asked and Natsumi replied her with a smile saying "Of course"
"He's the biggest troublemaker of them all"
