Chapter 44: Promises

“Alright boss,” Finn hesitated. “ I didn’t discover anything at all. I’ve tried so hard but if it’s really Michael, then something is really fishy somewhere.”

“Keep looking. We will talk later after I get off work,” Adonis assured before he hung up.

Adonis hurried up with everything. He would have to buy breakfast at work because he didn’t want to wait behind at all.

When he stepped out, Kate and Zyaire were all over his car while Aubrey was at a corner.

Adonis moved closer to them. “Do you guys have any problem with my car?”

Kate burst out laughing really hard. “How did you get this car?”

“Do you even need to ask? Did you think he could afford this kind of car? He probably got it with a loan to impress the family,” Zyaire muttered.

Adonis nodded briefly. “It’s alright. You are actually correct, just that I didn’t get it to impress the family. I only said I would make sure you guys are proud of me but not in this way, obviously. If you aren’t so dull, you will understand.”
