Ch 4: The boy born Gifted or Curse

King Vernon, Mack, and Melanie soon found themselves a room to talk privately in.

The old sage seated himself down on a sofa as he found it tiring to be standing on his two feet for a long time.

King Vernon and Melanie sat down on the other sofa across from him where there was also a table between them.

“So tell me Mack what reason must we speak privately.” the king asked.

Mack looked at baby Loren then spoke.

“The reason I ask for this private talk with the two of you is concerning  matters with your son.”

“What do you mean?” Melanie was worried to hear the powerful sage say that as it made her hold her son closer to her.

Loren opened his eyes right then quietly, not making noise.

“Well the matter is not concerning, but it is something that shouldn’t be ignored as I sense great power with the child.”

The both of them were surprised to hear that it even made King Vernon smile as this can mean great things await for his newborn son, but that changed when the powerful sage kept talking.

“Yes, great , powerful indeed, but not something good. I tell you that my king and lady. I have felt another sense that was not anything good, I tell you two.”

Mack finished what he had to say and then soon noticed the child was awake looking at him.

Thanks to noticing the man staring at Loren Melanie notices too.

“Oh, he was awake, I didn’t know  you were up Loren, you should have told your mother.”

Melanie tells him playfully that Loren turned his attention to his mother and began acting like a baby should.

Mack the powerful sage couldn’t understand feeling chills go down his back when the boy was staring at him and now acts as a normal baby should.

“This baby is strange.” the man thought to himself.

“Mack, I can not believe what you say, the boy was not born that long and you have to tell me that my son is evil.”

Mack can hear the anger in his tone when the man spoke to him.

“I understand how you feel, but what I said is true my king,” he informs him, which makes King Vernon worry.

Melaine saw the worried look on the king's face which made her worry that she looked at baby Loren.

There is no way this child who she gave life to and brought to this world could be evil.

How can a mother ever think such a thing about their child as she could not think that about Loren?  

The old man then took a moment to himself remembering things, one was something he learned long ago from a story and the other about someone that shared the same feeling that he got from Loren.

“Something, I want to ask you two, was this boy born under the Red Moon that appeared last night.”

Both were quiet units lt was king Vernon who spoke.

“Yes, Loren was born when the Red Moon appeared.” the man answered and the old Mack nodded his head to his response.

“I see thank you for answering my question my king and thank you both for your time.”

Mack the powerful sage got up and started walking to the door.

“Wait! A minute Mack.” King Vernon calls out to the old man who stops.

“What is it, my king,” Mack asked.

“I do not understand we came here to speak in private and all I hear from this is that my son was born gifted as the same time curse then answered a question of yours and now you're leaving without adding more to this discussion tell me what are thinking on this matter with my son.”

Mack sighs then faces the king.

“What I think is that your boy may hold a power in him that will or not corrupt him in the future and what power that could be, I have no clue to what it may be, but I intend to find out in time with a help from a friend.”

That was all the old sage tells King Vernon then left the room leaving only Melaine still holding baby Loren and the king alone inside.

Mack walked by himself showing a concerned face with only thought about Loren and the Red Moon.

“Could what I learned a time ago become true and if so will I be able to stop it or will anyone be?”
