While the siblings were in midair, Riku slashed his sword with both hands. “River Cutter!” A ghastly-huge earthen crescent blade manifested out of his sword, cut through the ground and sky at the same time as it flew into the siblings.Fabby shot a weak earthen gauntlet at Edgar, pushing him off the incoming attack’s path. She created a block of earth under her foot and used it as a footing to jump back. In doing so, both the siblings dodged from the attack, which otherwise could have likely killed both of them. The crescent blade kept on going for a few hundred meters and went into Zone B, breaking its way through the icy ground where Tenzai was running away from Pallavi. And the attack went through the gap between them.Gabriella and Venel were just returning from the higher zones, flying over a bird that she had summoned, and they noticed the destruction happening in Zone A and saw Riku and Yuri. “Those two are certainly strong,” Gabriella opined.“They are from the Jigu clan, afte
A few moments earlier.Fabby was being squeezed by the earth from every direction, and she never felt so terrified and overwhelmed before. It was dark, scary, and she felt utterly powerless as the earth around her behaved like her worst enemy. She thought it was her end until she heard Edgar’s roar faintly vibrating through the ground, and her expression immediately changed. How could she give up when her brother was still fighting? The overwhelming fear turned into unbridled rage, and a burst of vibrational earthen energy blasted out of her body and destroyed the earth around her.The shockwave of the blast also forced Yuri and Riku to back away. “Whoa… what’s this?” Riku was surprised.“The earth is vibrating?” Yuri frowned as she could feel the vibrations through her feet. This reminded her of the feeling she felt a little while ago during the fourth round. (So it was her. What sort of beast core did she consume for her to be able to do this at her level?) “Terrene Sight.” Her pupi
7108 people had participated in the fourth round, but only 623 people managed to reach the fifth round. Over 800 people died, and the Ogvi Warriors sect was proud of that. The top three that acquired the most skillbooks were Leo Baker(21), Ryu Reyes(39), and Kenna Spie(42). Nobody else managed to even cross the ten skillbook mark. Many skillbooks were left unpicked, which also made the Ogvi Warriors sect feel proud. Azar and Liam managed to get a book each in their hands. Pallavi gave a book titled ‘Gorilla Dance,’ to Tenzai. It was a seven-star skill that was useful to speedily travel in the jungle like a gorilla. So, he also passed the fourth round, but then Pallavi kept following him, asking him to marry her. “I don’t want you,” Tenzai refused her proposal. “I want you even if you don’t want me,” Pallavi still kept chasing him anyway. “But I think you’re just lying. You really love me, don’t you?” “No I don’t!” Tenzai ran away fast, but he just couldn’t escape from her. She wa
“Why do you guys always put the disciples through the same test?” The elders of the other sects kept asking the White Tiger sect this same question almost every time the Youth Games were conducted.Jeff Dank, a Great Elder of the white tigers sect, laughed boisterously as he replied, “There’s nothing better than watching warriors pitted against wicked monsters. You either get to see them tear through the beasts, or see them ‘running’ for their lives oh-so-pathetically.”Jeff Dank was known for his super speed. He gained his popularity for stealing the eggs from the dangerous beasts such as dragons and wyverns.Right now, Jeff was sitting with many others who were ready to witness a great fight at one of the colosseums where Fabby, Edgar, and Kira were there.Even after waiting for a while, nobody else came, so they entered the closed colosseum. Just the three of them.Kira was laughing. She didn’t even care about Fabby or Edgar. She was totally fine with fighting the beasts all on her
The sloth grabbed Kira by the hair and lifted her up and smiled wickedly. As it was thinking on how to kill Kira, something struck its head so hard, its head moved forward, and it ended up kissing the whole face of Kira.Kira felt utterly revolted by that. The sloth tossed Kira aside, and touched the back of its head and groaned.“How did that feel?” Edgar’s right fist was shrouded with lightning. “No matter how tough you’re, hits to the head will still hurt.”Like he said, the sloth looked a little shaken as it felt the attack jolt its brain and whole body, but it didn’t look weakened like Kira had.In fact, the whites of its eyes began to turn red as excess blood flooded. “Wrraahh!” it roared. A throaty roar so loud, it made Fabby shut her ears. Edgar, however, was better able to bear it.“Here I come,” he turned into a blur and appeared at the seven o’clock of the beast and struck the beast at the kidney, mimicking what Kira had done a minute ago. “Heavy Cannon Bolt!” a tremendous
While getting whacked was embarrassing, Kira was fuming because the sloth had ended up kissing her whole face, leaving its dirty saliva and disgusting smell on her. Just for that reason, Kira wanted to break the sloth’s skull with her own strength. However, she wasn’t stupid. She joined the siblings and surrounded the sloth which looked bigger and madder than ever. She waited while the siblings rushed in together. Edgar’s left arm was compromised, and Fabby couldn’t use her attacks as freely as she wanted because her diaphragm still hurt. The more she exerted herself, the harder it proved to breathe. If it was another day, Kira would have just watched them die in the hands of a sloth, but today was different. If the siblings were to die, she would be forced to fight the beast alone, and she didn’t want that. After all, she knew very well that Jeff probably wouldn’t step in to save her even if the sloth was about to kill her. That was the risk participating in the fifth round carried
Fabby and Edgar waited outside the colosseum, where a cross-eyed female merchant came to them and freely gave them a healing pill after hearing that they passed the fifth round. “I’m Ana Flores. I’m not so famous, but if you prefer quality over quantity, you can always look for me.” She gave them a cross-eyed token and left on her large, wingless, carnivorous chicken-like beast which ran pretty fast while making little to no sound with its feet. The siblings kept staring at the pills, wondering whether they should consume them or not. “They are safe to eat,” Honso came to them with a faint smile on his face. “Such pills are generally quite costly. You are lucky to get them for free. By the way, you two passed.” “Yes!” Edgar got excited, but Fabby didn’t show much of a response. Soon, both of them consumed the pills. To their surprise, their wounds began healing at a visible pace. Edgar’s badly-wounded arm was also recovering fast. “These pills are quite effective,” Fabby was aston
The fifth round wasn’t kind to every participant. More than 600 participated, but only about 500 of them even managed to enter a colosseum. Out of those only 238 people passed. Close to fifty people died during the battle with the villainous beasts.Every party from the major or notable sects somehow managed to either survive or win the round. All the winners were told to gather at the Setting Spring Pool, where pet animals of the Evergreat sect peacefully enjoyed time together at the mountain top as the sun set in the distance, creating a beautiful scenery that would be hard to take one’s eyes off from.Nevertheless, many people refused to bathe in the pool generally used by pets. The female disciples especially were grossed out by it.Dubril Zha had to persuade everyone to give it a chance. “I’ve gone to painstaking efforts to clean the pool and get it refilled with the Thousand-Year-Cloud Rain. So, I hope that you check its freshness yourself.” He took some of the pool’s water into
