Prologue: Why Trust a Demon?

A lady, plump with a pink gown and a black waist belt phased into existence. She had her hands gloved, her gown was only but sleeveless and she had a wide brimmed hat to cover her head.

She had a robust face, a little smile playing at her lips which vanished the moment she set eyes on the environment about. She squeezed her nose in disgust, reacting to the pungent smell of blood and dismembered flesh that was all about. Bile rose in her throat, making her just seem to puke except that she quickly put her hand to cover her mouth.

She remained still, her pink shoes, getting sodden and wet with the blood on the ground.

"Disgusting. This is how far Morgana has gone." She sneered.

Looking forward, she coughed, covering her mouth still as she watched the pieces of the gown that Morgana had on floating about in the air. Morgana was nowhere to be found.

And right where she was supposed to be, a demon like figure stood. Or rather, dropped to his knees, his body weak and drained even as the black markings began to retract to his left hand almost immediately.

She frowned, watching this silently and still. This was strange. there was no doubt that the one who was before her was a system holder. But then again, how could he be standing when the cream of the top system holders prized by the System bureau where all torn to shred?

Had something gone wrong with Morgana or did she allow herself to get beaten deliberately by this person. No matter, she was curious, Morgana was not one to play along for whatever reason. it would be illogical of her to think that Morgana had played along with this demonic human.

She was Beatrice, one of the top System Holders at the Bureau. Her function in the bureau was that of a scout. And for her to excel wonderfully, she had to develop the adept skill of logical reasoning. She was skilled at putting two plus tow together, such that even in the tightest of situations, she always had a way to come up on top.

The only situation that had bested her now, was the situation of Morgana. That old witch was still as strong as the legends claimed. Beatrice Cursed and as a result, she had been put in the back lines as the system bureau were unwilling to lose one of their most versatile agents due to the type of skill she possessed.

Her system, unique, as were the others had the generic ability of Space Cloning. She could make replicas of herself, make clones of others and whatnot. And the most interesting of that was that some, if not all of her clones had the ability to create wormholes through which they defied space and distance in the blink of an eye.

If you wanted to get to the North pole in a heart beat, call for Beatrices' clone. That was the amazing part. Beatrice did not even need to be present for her clones to work. And yet, she still had knowledge of everything the clones did and all hat went on as if she as there in person.

She could also control her clones on multiple fronts in combat. But she could not exactly be that efficient with that. The major reason why she ad been put to the back. She was more suited for rescue and swift capture than face to face combat.

Now that the battle had ben abated, the System Master had sought her again, calling for her to extract everyone from the scene of the battle, the moment news had reached that the battle had been abated.

She had come promptly, only to be sickened by the sight of everything. And even more, she witnessed the sight o a demon slowly reverting back to a boy.

'Demon?' There was no system that had that attribute.

How could it be? Was he even to be classified as a system holder?

No matter, she shook her head, she had work to do. There was no doubt that this person had been fundamental to the still and calm she was enjoying now. This meant that even if he was a demon, she would still need to report him to the grandmaster to hear what he had to say about him.

It was that simple.

Beatrice closed her yes for the fraction of a second, activating her system interface skill. She blinked and in a flash, multiple versions of diverged out of her body, each of them sprinting away and grabbing hold of the bodies of the system holders, whether dead or alive.

The main Beatrice sighed. She had expended a lot of energy to release an infinite number of clones about. And she did that because she did not have an idea of how far and how many casualties were there. So to be truly thorough, she had released a burst of an infinite number out of her.

It was draining though. But she was not complaining. She was one of the high skilled System Holders and so, this ought to be easy for her.

She simply walked all the way to where the boy in the tattered shorts, bare chested stood, her eyes blinking again. She lowered down and reached for the back of his neck, grabbing him while resisting the urge to puke even as eh used the other hand to hold her nose.

"Smells like shit." She muttered, blinking as a portal of wisping light appeared before her and she walked through, a disgusted look on her face

She may be a High Level System Bureau scouter but yet, in all her years of experiences, she had never come across a scene as gory as this. It was with great luck that this was not how it ended, else, it might just have spelt the end of all humanity.

However, the fact that one boy, a demon morphing boy or whatever he was, was the one who put a stop to Morgana seemed to disturb her greatly. She mused within herself that the rest of the Bureau would find a way to uncover the mystery behind this person and then, she would be satisfied. But until then, all she could do was to get her catch to the Bureau.

If there was still a bureau to return to, that is.

The air shimmered and Beatrice walked out of thin air, utilizing tbhe powers of her Space Clone system attribute. Now, she had simply just waltzed through several distances into the hidden and secret lair of the System Bureau.

Walking right into the center room, she heaved, noting the dim atmosphere that was all about. She sniffed, knowing that the dim airs was not just as a result of the low lighting in the room but also as  result of the darkened moods and pensive thoughts of all those in it.

The Center Room was an important part of the System Bureau. It was where their most challenging decisions were weighed and wieghted by the stakeholders, that is the most important and powerful system holders. It was not usually used because for most of their deliberations were ran singlehandedly by Monsieur Demas, a French  Man who held a particular system.

He could control time.

"I take it that Morgana is now of history, Beatrice, confirmed?' Monsieur Demas's vice reached to her.

he came walking in, from her left hand side, making her turn around to see him even as she dropped the body to the ground.

Demas had a flowing blue gown on, but with a brown colored fur collar and two silver chains to hold them together by his neck. Demas looked down at the body, his face emanciated and outlined by huge white beards, frowning.

"And this is... " He muttered. "The one who defeated her. Strange, i cant detect any attribute from him. How come?" He looked up.

Beatrice sighed, using her left hand to tilt her hat now even as she slightly bowed.

"That is hard for me to say. I cannot understand it too. But what i saw... This person is a demon. Either that or his system has devolved that badly into becoming a personification of pure evil." She heaved now.

"Yet, he is the only one who could lay a hit on Morgana. Interesting." Another voice resounded, coming from opposite Beatrice.

"Dayo!" Monsieur Demas muttered, smiling at the voice.

Beatrice scowled, looking towards the source of the voice even as she folded her bloodied hands across her chest. She shook her head now, grumbling inaudible words.

"That does not make sense. If a demon could lay a hit on morgana, should we not be scared of the demon itself?" The air shimmered and a man wearing black shirt and trousers alongside a black pair of shoes muttered, his hand cupping the edge of his jaws.

"Why should we trust the fate of the world into the hands of a demon? I say, we kill him while we can!"
