Chapter 3: Level Up? And, Anger?

Every time I level up my Hp increases by 10 and when I add one point to {Vit} my Hp increase by 5. The reason I did this was that this is the real world. As a player, I get injured and wounded from fighting the monsters. I don`t just lose health, I even think I feel one hundred percent of the pain.

What is worth mentioning is that everything in this world is real, even the monsters, they are not codes. Their screams, spawning blood and chopped up bodies were so fucking irritating that it gets on my nerves every passing second.

I had quickly acclimatized to the situation. I had gone from being nauseated from the gore that I was throwing up after killing my first monster, to becoming cold and indifferent despite the carnage that was left in my wake. All the heated monster blood on my body made me feel like enduring a test from hell.

After only a couple of hours, I really had become used to this. I think I`m turning into a cold-blooded killing machine, even though all I killed were monsters. This game Existed literally for killing, I don`t know if I`ll ever have to face another human... Let us leave that thought for now.

After removing the thought of killing another human from my head.

I call my Status to see how it`s now:

-----

Player: Isaac.

Class: Barbarian.

Level: 5.

HP: 50 -> 140.

Exp: 6532/30000.

Str: 30 -> 56.

Dex: 14.

Agi: 10 -> 12.

Int: 22 -> 25.

Vit: 20 -> 30.

Accuracy: 150.

Endurance: 90 -> 120.

Gold: 50.

Attribute Points: 0.

Skill Points: 0.

Skills: [Weapon Mastery Level 1 -> 4]. [Howl Level 1 -> 2].

------

This status is way more impressive than the one that I started with

I got some good progress right there huh?.. My endurance increased? why? OH! I think it increased because I got used to the gore sight, and I also didn`t throw up much well, four or five times only? see not much...

Not all these Improvements came from leveling up only, as I got some special items. I had gotten a few armors and a new grade uncommon axe {Rachel`s axe} that gave me +5 Strength and +1 Intelligence.

They were from killing monsters and I already equipped them all

-------

After resting my body for a few minutes..

I begin to have some fears. this shit is so real... Even the painfulness and soreness in my muscles are so real..... I`m not sure that if I died in this realistic game world, I would respawn just like how it was in the original game, but I didn`t try.

There was too much at stake, mother, sister, and my fiancé... From the past four hours of the killing, I had noticed that my knowledge about the original game wasn`t completely applicable in this world. I was trying my best to establish a rough understanding of the natural order of this world.

In this cruel bloody world, 'Str', and 'Vit' are the Most Important for a 'Barbarian'. A lot of 'Str' will allow my attacks to get stronger, while 'Vit' will not only allow me to be to more durable during battle, but also, to give me more endurance and HP to run away from the blood seeking monsters, and not die from blood loss.

The reason why I distributed skill points onto [Weapon Mastery] and [Howl], is because I had no idea how to handle and use weapons properly, I was just an ordinary man who spent the last 2 years if his life in hospital, so [Weapon Mastery] will allow him to use his hand axe more efficiently, and [Howl] can scare the monsters away when he gets surrounded.

Threats from monsters and the risk of dying forced me to consider way more than the future development of the character. So, after I finished checking my character status menu, I opened the inventory.

In this world, my Inventory was a golden bracelet that I wore on my wrist.

It had 30 blocks of storage space. Every block can store stuff as one common grade (Healing Potion). However, Items did scale in this game world so any big items like axes or swords may take up to 5 blocks, depending on how big they are.

My inventory was full right now. I thought for a while about what to do next and decided to go back to the camp. I used a {Return Scroll} that I had when I first entered this world.

"Buzzzzzzzz....." A three-meter-high, green lighting oval appeared with a slight buzzing noise. I didn`t hesitate and stepped into it.

As I expected, after I stepped into the light, I found myself back to the camp, when I left the portal in the other side.

Suddenly, I felt nauseous.  I felt as though I had just stepped off a particularly fast rollercoaster that involved a lot of twists and loops.  I closed My eyes for a few seconds to get over the "portal sickness".

After sitting down and regaining my bearings, I looked around and found priest Tursek. This high priest was not only a source for quests but also a crafty merchant.

He sold staves, and potions for battle, as well as scrolls and keys. I wanted to prepare really well for my first quest "The Cunning Caves." so that I would not get myself killed by the monster in the evil cave. From what I could remember, there was a zombie boss called [Corpse fire]in there.

Although finding out what has brought me into this weird world was important, I at least needed to survive until I could find out.

I sold all the items such as gloves, broken wands, and spears, the stuff I got from the monster but didn't need, and got roughly 800 gold. Plus, the gold I looted directly from the monsters, I had a total of 850 gold.

I put all the money into good use and bought some items from Tursek.

A double axe with a damage rating of 6-15, and a suit of leather armor with a defense rating of 13. I equipped both of them and bought a couple of bottles of [Minor Healing Potions], four [Town Return Scrolls], and three [Identify scrolls] for identifying the weapons and armors that I will get from the monsters.

I felt a reassuring increase in my strength and power, originating from my new weapon and armor. I confidently returned to [blood land of monsters].

"Buzzzzzz…."

After returning to the dangerous [blood land of monster] following the slight buzz, I went and found the [The Cunning Caves] on my map and headed that direction carefully. After looking at the situation within the cave, I thanked my past self for my cautious preparations.

In this world, monsters in caves and dens seemed to be more aggressive and brutal than the ones on the moor. There were not only [ Quill Rats], [Zombies], [Fallen Shaman], and [Vampires] who could cast fireballs, which were common monsters that I saw on the land, but also this monster called [Gargantuan Beast] who looked like an ape. It had powerful attacks and thick skin for defense.

I started to wipe out my mission in the cave.

Since I was level 5; I think my damage and defense were high enough for me to breeze through the regular monsters.

Blood was spilling, monsters were screaming and I furiously hacked my way through the cave.

I had become the spitting image of a grim reaper, covered in blood as I cut through the swathes of monsters coming my way. My double axe split the monsters lengthwise like a samurai sword through hot butter.

A crowd of monsters rushed my way, I sprint to the center of them and used my war cry skill [Howl] so that I could finish them off one by one after they got scared by my loud cry, while I was finished them off when they were running away.

I also saw a lot of ruined human corpses in the cave.

Some were on the ground, some were chained onto the pillars, with intestines falling out and missing eyeballs. Even some female rogues were raped by these hideous monsters. With flies circling around these rotten corpses, the scenes were too horrifying for anyone to look at.

Suddenly, my mind went blank and was filled with anger.

Although I know that this scenario originated from a game, I couldn't help but to situate myself as a human of this world.

With all the anger burning in my chest, I went into this mad mode where I smashed and crushed monsters like they were nothing.

All I have felt in the moment was only anger, pure anger.

I don`t know how long passed since I was in that state when the last moment in front of me died screaming in its own blood.

Beams of golden light fell from the sky and shined up every corner of the cave.
