Chapter 4

The dense forest is my home. Goblin. Fly agaric.

This place turned out to be very interesting and beautiful. The sun's rays broke through the crowns of trees and pierced the ground with bright spears, dispelling the shadow around.

A lot of green grass and moss grew below, hiding the berries and mushrooms that I intended to find, but so far it did not work out, apparently, my observation skill was not yet pumped enough.

There was still a long way to go, so I started looking through the things that I managed to collect. Fangs, tails and other nonsense that was needed to create potions and pump the Alchemy skill did not interest me yet, but the seeds and the coin are very even.

Linden Seeds

Description: Preserved by the fruit's hard bark, the inner seeds are a highly prized ingredient for a number of powerful elixirs. They are seeds glowing with a dim light, very fragile and sensitive to sudden changes in temperature. For growth, the emanations of the Infernal Abyss, the Light Sky, or the Wastes of Arag are necessary.

Quantity: 2

Effect: +10% Alchemy skill level.

Effect duration: 4 hours

ancient coin

Description: Item not identified.

That's it. So I wanted to know more about this little thing, but here is such a bummer. Okay, I'll deal with that coin later. But the information on seeds is very interesting, and if I understand correctly, then it is quite possible to germinate them. The question is why?

Although what's the difference, the main thing is that you can. You just need to get somewhere these emanations. I wonder if the appearance and properties of the tree will depend on the type of this emanation? I do not want to use the forum, otherwise it will kill all interest from the process of exploring this world. But I'll take a look at the reference.

Emanation is the concentrated energy of someone or something.

Briefly and clearly. But how to get it or collect a single phrase. Behind these reflections, I imperceptibly approached the place from where, according to my calculations, the smoke should have come.

After some time, I went out to a small clearing on which a fire was burning, and there was a hut covered with earth, but overgrown with moss. At the top of this small dwelling grew a crooked tree.

A couple of pebbles as tall as me wrapped themselves in a soft blanket of moss and lay down where the wall of the hut should have been. There was as much smoke from this small fire as there is when a hectare of forest is ignited, no less. I wonder why?

But before I had time to think about this question, the door of the hut, battered by time, opened, and something came out to me. A humanoid creature completely covered in dark gray fur and leaves. Several branches protruded from the back, the most common red fly agaric with a couple of some grebes grew on the head.

But the face was quite human, well, almost. Squinted eyes, a long nose and a beard that creeps along the ground. This strange grandfather leaned on a twisted long stick, shrouded in swamp mud and moss.

He approached me, and it turned out that this ... man was two heads taller than me. Strange, how did he fit in that little door? I looked over it and saw something interesting.

Goblin ???, ???, ??? level

What the hell is this? Why do I have a bunch of all sorts of questions, either in the task, or in the creatures, maybe the game glitched? Or am I so lucky for all sorts of curiosities?

“Greetings, wanderer,” this grandfather’s voice was firm and even, without any grunts. “I have been waiting for you for a long time.

Well, of course, it was me that you were waiting for here. It's just that I'm most likely the first player here in the entire existence of Reinea. Now it will say that an ancient prophecy says that a hero will arrive who will save the world from evil, blah blah blah.

“To show you the place where you will live until you get a little stronger and gain strength.

“Uh-uh,” I could only manage to squeeze out a couple of sounds.

“It seems that the transition from one world to another was difficult for you, since speech has not yet returned to you, but it’s okay, it will pass,” the old man stroked his beard, carefully examining me.

Dusty travel suit, littered with leaves and twigs, disheveled hair and dirty boots, I don’t look like a hero at all, except perhaps for a homeless tramp.

According to the legend of the developers, all the players who appeared in the Rainey are wanderers who came from distant worlds. Some came here for money, because local gold, often called gold in the community of players, is withdrawn from the game at a very favorable rate for real money.

But earning this very gold here is no less difficult than ordinary rubles or dollars. For each individual country, the prices for things are adjusted in such a way as to equalize the rates of world currencies in order to avoid using the game as an intermediary for fraud.

I didn't understand how they did it, but this information was given on the official website of the Creator'sStudio Corporation, which created the game.

Others liked to kill monsters, others liked people, others just enjoyed the game and wanted to explore the world. In general, everyone has their own goals in this game, so it would be almost impossible to list everything, because there are more than fifty million people, though I didn’t know at all how they were distributed throughout the lands of Reinea.

“Grandpa,” I finally got out of my stupor. “How did you know that I would come?”

“I told you that speech would return,” the goblin nodded with satisfaction. “As for your question, stranger, I had a vision. Someone very curious will appear in our world, and I need to meet him and teach him what he can learn.

“Interesting.” I squinted and copied the old man's gesture, stroking his chin. Who can send such visions?

“I don’t know that, wanderer,” the goblin sighed. “Maybe one of the gods descended to a forest dweller, or maybe the universe itself. And I see that you will be a very capable student.

- Eee? - I looked at the old man in bewilderment, and I wanted to ask why he decided this, but my grandfather got ahead of me, quickly removing something from my head.

In his hand was a fly agaric almost the same as on his head, only smaller. Although no, the hat is some kind of dark purple. I took a closer look at this mushroom.

Amanita Pantherny

Description: This mushroom has a truly terrible poison that can kill an ordinary person in ten seconds, but for many types of animals, on the contrary, it is healing and can cure a number of serious injuries and diseases. A valuable alchemical ingredient that requires an Alchemy skill of at least level 100 to make potions.

Class: Rare

Note: Especially dangerous for orcs, and also able to scare away spirits and other undead. You can't cook porridge out of it.

Immediately sent the mushroom in the bag, just in case. Whether it will ever come in handy.

- The mushrooms liked you and they are very sad that you did not notice them when you came here, and this Arn-alder even climbed on you, but you were still blind. I managed to take it off before you got a lethal dose of poison, - the goblin smiled and looked at me somehow completely differently. – I have never seen mushrooms pay attention to any of the wanderers, and such.

Look closely at the forest and gain experience, I will come to you when the day changes night just once. I know that all wanderers are immortal, but you still should not die, otherwise it will greatly affect the pace of your learning. - The grandfather said and disintegrated into a bunch of moss, which immediately grew to a flat stone lying on the ground, and his staff turned into a low, gnarled tree.

From such statements, I plopped down on the ground and didn’t notice for a bit that there was a dirty puddle, so now I was all covered in mud, twigs, and with another fly agaric in my hands.

You have mastered the Disguise skill.

Description: Passing through the forest jungle, you yourself, without noticing it, were covered with leaves, twigs, moss and even mushrooms, which hid you from the eyes of many animals and birds that did not even pay attention to the lone traveler.

Skill Class: Uncommon

Skill level: 1

Note: But it's still worth washing.

Eh-h-h, I stood up, and clods of dirt fell off me like needles from a March Christmas tree. Apparently, it is worth following the advice. At that moment, my mood was not very good, even though I received a new skill.

I went up to the hut and saw a small pond behind it, although one might as well call it a swamp. Quickly washing off all this dirt, I immediately noticed an expansion of the interface.

Now I have four main parts of the interface. In addition to the standard ones, showing the amount of life, mana and vigor, an additional part has appeared that is responsible for the level of stealth from other people's views. And now this bar was only twenty percent. It feels to me that if I live here for a month, then I myself will turn into the same mossy grandfather, and no one will ever see me.
