Chapter 8

Richardson blurted the first thing that came to mind, while he racked his brains. He still wasn’t sure if he had indeed heard right.

He had thought he was being taken to where he’d be killed or for something else that would be equally bad, and was still trying to wrap his head around what was currently playing out.

But before Richardson could utter another word, the matured looking man whose healthy and gleaming grey hair was slicked back, moved forward and instantly engulfed Richardson in a hug.

Richardson wasn’t sure if he had ever felt this confused and lost in his entire life like he was feeling right now. This man who was still hugging him, hadn’t obviously cared that Richardson was in the most disgusting clothes ever, compared to the designer suit he had on right now.

“I’m sure you’re very hungry right now.” The man said after finally breaking out of the hug, right before Richardson attempted to say something.

Richardson tried denying the fact that he was currently hungry, but the man didn’t seem to be paying him any mind, and one look from him to the man who had escorted me to him, had the man walking towards a table to tap an alarm.

That seems to have summoned the people whom Richardson would like to assume were chefs, because they all poured into the room after a few seconds, all dressed in matching uniforms.

The material of their chef’s uniforms obviously looked like it was from a very fine material. They all bowed to the matured looking man who was yet to introduce himself, and then before Richardson could blink, they were all turning towards him to bow to him as well.

Richardson felt extremely overwhelmed. He still wasn’t sure of what to make of all of these. All his attempts to brush off the offer to be fed fell on deaf ears and he ended up giving in, because he was indeed starving.

“I have a lot of questions to ask.” Richardson tried again one last time, and the man waved his hand at him in a shooing motion.

“All your questions would be seen to, but for now, do let the chefs see to your needs.” The man said once again, and right before he exited the room, he glanced at the man who had led me to him as he spoke.

“Do get him get

“Do get him cleaned up after having his meal, and then bring him back to me.” And then the man was gone, closing the door behind him.

Richardson had an uneasy thought that he was about to be fed and cleaned up for his intimate end, but he was quick to shake that thought out of his head because he genuinely wasn’t sure of what to think any longer.

Richardson was led to a large room, where a ridiculously long dining table sat in the middle. The floor of the dining room had one of the finest tile decorations and the walls were painted in a color that matched the entire theme of the atmosphere.

There were different paintings hanging off a lot of spots on the walls and they all looked like they had cost a fortune.

The chandeliers hanging off the rooms, and the longest one dipping into the middle of the dining table, literally took Richardson’s breath. If it hadn’t been obvious to him before that the owner or owners of this place had a whole lot of money before, then he was definitely convinced right now.

Richardson definitely wasn’t expecting the chefs to still keep treating him like he was someone important since the matured looking man was no longer here, but the chefs kept regarding him with so much respect as they served him different assortments of food which he was to pick from.

The food tasted unbelievably delicious, they were unlike anything he had ever tasted before and Richardson was sure that if the term ‘food orgasm’ was real, he’d have definitely experienced that while eating.

After the very satisfying meal, Richardson was led to clean up. The bathroom had more decorations than his entire house had altogether and Richardson was sure he’d feel very honored to live in it full time. The entire theme of the bathroom decorations matched the lights on the roof and walls, and the mirrors on different spots in the bathroom, blew Richardson out of his mind.

He took his bath and felt like a different person entirely, but he dressed back in his old clothes because he doesn’t have anything else to wear.

Once he was dressed, as hoped, he was led back to the matured looking man once again, who was in a room which was undoubtedly his office, telling from the interior of the it and how it was decorated.

But before Richardson could begin to ask the questions which he had lined up accordingly in his head while he was cleaning up, the man wordlessly led him into a different room, and didn’t stop walking until he got to the end of the room.

Richardson was confused and lost, he wondered why the man had brought him into this room that looked like another office. Richardson was absentmindedly glancing around the entire place when his eyes landed on it.

It was a picture.

It was a picture of him, enlarged into a really large size, that was currently hanging off the wall.

Or well, that couldn’t be himself, Richardson thought silently. In as much as he could swear that the person in the picture was him, the luxurious suit the person in the picture had on was saying otherwise.

“Who is that?” Richardson asked while glancing at the man wearily. The man was regarding Richardson wordlessly, with his hands deep in his pockets.

“It’s actually a very long story.” The man finally spoke, and then he led Richardson back into his office where they both took their seats.

A little silence had fallen over them once again, and when the matured looking man whose name was still withheld from Richardson finally spoke, Richardson was completely taken aback.

“I’m sorry I sent your mother away. I’m the cause of everything.”
