Alonzo's eyes narrowed as he looked Blaise up and down, a condescending smirk playing upon his lips. "Let's be honest, Blaise," he drawled, his voice dripping with insinuation. "We all know why you're really here. Kendra's family's fortune is quite the attraction, isn't it?"

A tense silence filled the air as Chloe shot Alonzo a disapproving look, but he ignored her, relishing the opportunity to belittle Blaise.

Blaise, however, remained unfazed, his composure unwavering. He met Alonzo's gaze with a calm amusement, as if observing a child throwing a tantrum. "Alonzo," he began, his voice steady and measured, "your assumptions are not only baseless but also quite revealing of your own character."

He paused for a moment, letting his words sink in before continuing. "Kendra and I are simply colleagues, working together on a mutually beneficial project. Your attempt to insinuate otherwise speaks volumes about your own insecurities and lack of trust in your relationship with Chloe."
