An old man walked up to the man standing with a cold face. The man named Jairo immediately bowed his body as he looked up at the man wearing ordinary-looking clothes.
"Young master Noah, I congratulate you, for you have won back what was yours all along." Jairo handed over some files that were in a folder.
Noah looked at him with a cold face. His muscular hands immediately grabbed the files and opened them. Instantly, he smiled when he saw they were all his important files.
"This is very good. I finally got them back." His face turned more serious again.
The old man before him bowed his head slightly. He smiled at this victory. "Congratulations, master, you will inherit all of this again."
Noah nodded. He felt relieved that he had regained his rights after several years of being banished from his family.
Jairo handed him a small red box. There, Noah stared at it for a while. Then he quickly took it.
"What's this?" Noah furrowed his brow as he looked at the box closely...
"Young master, it's a bracelet made of genuine jade. And it is a hereditary inheritance that, of course, is now rightfully yours. And you can give the bracelet to your current wife." Jairo explained.
"After this, you can return to this family," Jairo said.
Noah stared at the bracelet for a while. He thought about his wife. Noah was sure that she would be happy to receive the bracelet.
By now, Noah had returned home. He immediately prepared some delicious food and intended to surprise his wife.
After some time, Noah managed to prepare everything. He also had the bracelet in his pocket. "I just need to wait for Ruby to come home. I'll give her this right away." He smiled slightly at the thought of his wife's face returning.
Ruby was the CEO of her own family-owned company. And, of course, it was common for her to come home late at night. And Noah was always waiting for her.
After a while, Noah heard the sound of a car, so he immediately welcomed his wife's arrival.
Opening the door, he smiled to greet Ruby. "I'm glad you're home, Ruby." Noah greeted her gently.
Ruby just stared at him. They had been married for three years, but Ruby had always been cold and stiff with Noah. Despite that, Noah still loved her very much.
"Why haven't you rested yet?" Ruby raised one eyebrow at her husband's face.
Noah was still smiling gently. "Ruby, I was waiting for you. And I've prepared dinner. We can have dinner together after this."
Ruby frowned at Noah's explanation. But she quickly shook her head. "I already ate out."
Noah heard that with disappointment. But he smiled at Ruby anyway. He tried to understand his wife. "Well, that's fine. Maybe next time we can eat together."
Ruby passed by Noah unceremoniously, but Noah immediately grabbed her hand, which made Ruby shake her hair in annoyance.
"Ruby, I want to talk to you," Noah spoke softly.
Ruby remembered something, so she quickly turned to look at Noah. "I also have something I want to talk to you about."
Noah looked at Ruby seriously. He felt uncomfortable at the moment. He looked at Ruby gently as he said, "Alright, you can go first."
Noah immediately took out a bracelet from his pocket. He stared at the bracelet for a while and smiled. He was sure that Ruby would like it.
Ruby pulled her hand from Noah's grip. She walked past her husband and stopped at the sofa. She put down her big bag and took out some files inside the brown bag.
Ruby took out a stack of papers from her bag. She placed them on the table in front of Noah.
Noah frowned when he accidentally saw the paper title with the words divorce agreement. This surprised him.
He immediately grabbed one of the stacks of papers with trembling hands. "Ruby, what is this? Why are you doing this?"
He had no idea that Ruby would take this action against him. They had been married for a few years, and Noah thought everything was going fine.
Ruby stared at Noah with a piercing gaze. She was so fed up with Noah all this time. She quickly stood up from the sofa and spoke, "When we got married, neither of us had anything. And after three years, I've become a CEO and can grow my family's company, but what about you? You didn't even do anything all this time."
Ruby let out a long sigh. She leaned in slightly and looked at Noah more closely. "Noah, I want a real man to be my husband. Not a gigolo like you who only relies on me." She gave a harsh insult.
Noah rose from his seat. His hands clenched into fists at his wife's harsh words. His heart ached, and he wondered if his wife's words had hurt his pride. Noah didn't expect this to happen at all.
He looked at Ruby's face with a cold look. "Three years ago, I sold my house cheaply and gave all the money to you so that you could open a company. But what about now?"
A small sigh was heard from the beautiful woman. She did not utter any words. But her hand nimbly took something back from inside her bag. It was a check for one million dollars. Then, she quickly gave it to Noah.
"Three years ago, you sold your house for two hundred thousand dollars. And I'm giving you five times that back." Ruby placed the check on the table in front of Noah.
Noah felt a great pain in his heart. He stood looking at Ruby's face with a strange look. Even the expression on Noah's face had changed.
"How could you say such a thing? I love you so much, so I sold my house. And that's when I thought we loved each other." Noah gave his explanation.
Ruby smiled bitterly. She shook her head. "You should know that love can change. Moreover, we have been together for several years, which makes me feel bored with you. Especially since you haven't given me anything special in my life." Ruby emphasized everything to Noah. Then she looked away.
He looked at her coldly. The sound of sighing could be heard again. "Is everything just business to you now?" His voice sounded so heavy.
Ruby looked back at him. She thought that Noah was too naive. She smiled bitterly. "Noah, you should have known that life would change. And you don't understand with such advanced thinking."
Ruby shook her head. Maybe in the past, she could accept Noah's ordinary circumstances. But with life now, she realized that everything costs money. And Noah had never given her anything more than the money from the house sale back then. He even felt disgusted with Noah for not being as forward-thinking as he was.
Meanwhile, Noah looked at Ruby with disappointment. He even remembers many of their sweet memories when they were newly married. But now Ruby was very indifferent and arrogant.
The beautiful woman noticed her husband's appearance once again. "At least I still have a heart, and that's why I returned the money to you. You should be grateful because, with that, you will be able to live well even though your life will probably remain troubled like a useless person."
Noah placed the object he was holding on the table. He quickly picked up a pen, then he spoke in a cold voice. "I'll sign it right away."
Ruby stared at Noah's actions calmly. She was slightly relieved that Noah had agreed so quickly.
Ruby's gaze fell on the clock in her hand. She realized it was midnight and intended to give Noah a bit of her goodwill. She spoke, "You can stay in this house for the last night."
Noah gave her a cold look. "That won't be necessary. I'm leaving anyway." His voice sounded firm.
He picked up the check that was in front of him. Ruby saw that and looked at Noah with disgust. But she was shocked when Noah destroyed the check he had given her. But Ruby didn't care.
"I'm leaving," Noah spoke coldly. He couldn't lie if he was feeling very sick.
Noah quickly walked out of Ruby's presence. He walked past her and immediately opened the door. But Ruby stopped him.
"Wait." Ruby walked after him.
Suddenly, Ruby held out her hand and gave the bracelet she picked up on the table to Noah. "Take this."
Noah stared at the jade bracelet that Ruby handed back to him. Before Noah accepted it, Ruby spoke, "Maybe you forgot about this. And you won't have to repurchase cheap stuff like this."
Noah left Ruby's house. At this moment, he recalled when seven years ago, when he was only eighteen years old, he too had to be kicked out by his own family. According to the family rules, Noah had to go through the family court to win back his rights as the heir of his family. With his ingenuity, Noah founded a large company in his town. After that, the company grew very quickly. Noah even managed to make his company one of the top ten companies in the city. There were almost no other big companies that could compete with him. And no one knew if the company that stood was owned and founded by a student. Only those closest to him knew about it.Noah remembered everything. He also remembered his father's words. "You don't deserve to own everything. We'll take all the profits. You can only have a hundred dollars as pocket money."It's not for nothing that his family raised him so hard and did all this so that Noah would know what it's like to be poor.Noah exhaled. He also remembered th
Hearing Dario's words, Noah stopped his steps. He looked at Dario's face with a cold gaze. "Is it real?" Noah sneered. He knew that the man in front of him was bragging. The man in the neat suit smiled proudly. He patted his chest with great confidence. "Of course. I'm Dario, who naturally knows a lot of people from the upper class. Not like you."Dario glanced at Ruby. He wanted her to hear his confession and think he was a great guy.Dario thought of something interesting. "If you want, I can introduce you. I think you need the job. And being a servant might be perfect for you right now."Dario smiled with a strange look in his eyes. He walked over to Noah, looking at him closely. "If you want to kneel and beg me, I'll help you." He chuckled as he said that.Ruby frowned after hearing Dario's words. Ruby couldn't believe it. Ruby knew that Dario would only show off his skills in front of Ruby to attract her attention. But Ruby would never drop her heart to Dario. Ruby also never had
Jairo looked up at Noah. Surely, he knew the meaning of his master's eye movements. Jairo sighed before he reached into his pocket and pulled out a gold-plated paper."This is my mistake. Forgive me for forgetting to give you this invitation, sir." Jairo handed the invitation to Noah.Noah accepted it. He grasped the invitation, which made Dario feel very surprised. He shook his head in a whisper. "This is impossible. I think this is a mistake. Is he a guest here?"Jairo was still staring at his master. He had a very deep feeling of guilt when looking at his master. "Master, you may enter with me at this time." Jairo invited.Jairo's gaze also fell on the guards, blocking Noah's way in. Only a cold stare made the two guards immediately move to make way.Noah held Jairo back by raising his hand. "Wait, don't rush because it's a man who has to run with his shirt off around this building," Noah spoke with a glance at Dario.Dario swallowed his saliva. He looked at Noah in surprise. He ha
Noah sneered. He was sure that Ruby knew what Noah was talking about. However, the woman tried to argue."Can you speak more clearly, Noah? You shouldn't have brought our divorce into this. Remember, we're already separated. There is no more relationship to talk about, including the divorce." Ruby emphasised that point to Noah.Noah smiled bitterly. He looked at Ruby with a sharp movement of his eyes. "Then, why are you standing before me to insult me?"Noah stopped his sentence momentarily to stare intently at Ruby's face. "You shouldn't have bothered to come if you only intended to care for everything I did. Didn't you cut off everything?"Noah looked away. He was disgusted by Ruby's presence in this place. Noah had come to the party because he was about to be announced as the next head of the family. But he had to meet the raving Ruby to organise it.Ruby exhaled in annoyance. She felt that Noah was very stubborn. Noah never even respected her opinion. Ruby just wanted to change No
After hearing the master's explanation, the voice on the other end of the line returned. "Very well, sir. I will do as you say. I will terminate the employment immediately.""Do it immediately." The order was heard from Noah. A slight nod was not visible behind the phone. His assistant manager was still listening to Noah's words. "Sir, I will negotiate the contract with them again. I'll do everything right."Noah didn't give any reply. He was happy enough with the answer given by his assistant manager that he immediately turned off the call. Meanwhile, Ruby tried to forget what happened between her and Noah. She got rid of her disgust by walking away from Noah and approaching some other businessmen there. Ruby stared at several people wearing black suits. "They look different from the lame Noah."Ruby exhaled. She walked with a confident stride and headed towards one of the men who was enjoying a drink while in his right hand, he seemed to be busy playing with his cell phone. Ruby
Ruby couldn't hide her panic. Suddenly, her head ached as she remembered what she had done so suddenly that the big company she was so proud of had cut off the partnership just like that."W-what are you saying? This is impossible. And this shouldn't have happened." Ruby bit her fingertips. She waited for an answer and hoped that everything she heard was wrong. Yes, she was sure it was wrong because Ruby was sure she had done nothing wrong.Hearing Ruby's voice, everyone looked at her. They frowned and didn't know what was going on."Sir, listen to me. Are you seriously going to break the cooperation contract? You can't just break the cooperation contract between our companies." Ruby spoke in a loud voice.Everyone looked at her in surprise. They had congratulated Ruby on her cooperation with Fortune Enterprise, but now they realized that Ruby was about to be ruined. The call was cut off abruptly. Ruby massaged her aching head. She didn't know what to do at the moment. "Damn it! Why d
Jairo was quite surprised by the news he had just heard from one of his men. He was one of his most trusted men, so the servant knew about Ruby.Jairo looked at the clock in his hand. The party was about to start. He had to introduce Noah to all the guests if he was the next head of the family. But looking back at the problem he had just received, Jairo thought this was a severe problem."I think I should tell the young master. You must find out about the person who will harm Miss Ruby." Jairo gave his orders.Without waiting for a reply, Jairo immediately met his master, who was still in the previous place.Jairo's footsteps made Noah move his cold eyes to Jairo. He had been preparing for his new life again. But as he looked at Jairo, he saw the anxiety on Jairo's face.Noah's forehead was furrowed, while one eyebrow seemed to be raised. "Is it time already?" Noah asked with a serious face.Noah rose before Jairo and prepared to straighten the shirt he was wearing. Noah glanced down
It didn't take long. By this time, Noah had arrived in front of the Sharing-La Star Hotel. He immediately got out of his car and moved to get inside. Finally, Noah saw Dario, who was currently standing in front of the reception desk. Noah only saw Dario himself, but where was Ruby?Noah's eyes immediately moved to search for Ruby's whereabouts. Finally, his gaze fell on a woman lying unconscious on a sofa in the hotel lobby."He's such a bastard. He's an asshole." Noah clenched his hands into fists. His face was red with anger. He wanted to help Ruby escape, but his anger drove him to Dario.Noah reached out and grabbed Dario by the collar of his suit from behind and dragged him away just as Dario was about to pay the bill for the hotel he had just booked.Dario was very surprised by someone who pulled him and almost made him fall backwards. He became furious when he realised it was Noah. He was shocked. "Are you crazy? What an ignorant man. You should know that this is not your place
