When Elizabeth returned home, she met Elijah waiting for her in the living room.

He waved at her. "Come seat near me, honey. I want to talk to you."

Elizabeth hesitated but then approached her father with a resigned sigh.

She sat down opposite him and waited.

Elijah reached out to her and caressed her hair. "You look like you haven't been getting much sleep."

Elizabeth looked away. "What makes you say that?"

Elijah stared softly at her. "Because you've got dark circles around your eyes. You're upset with me aren't you?"

Elizabeth shook her head. "I'm over it, dad."

"First of all," Elijah cleared his throat. "I want to apologize for hitting you. I went too far."

Elizabeth swallowed. "You only did what you had to as my father. I shouldn't have disobeyed you in the first place."

Elijah folded his arms. "I'm glad you were able to admit your mistakes. However, I want you to stop sulking. I've lifted your Punishment. You're no longer grounded."
