A World of Robbery

"I'll be off, take care grams."

"I told you to call me Rachel! *sigh* come back later alright?! and don't accept advice from strangers!"

The exasperated grandma could only look as the handsome boy made his way through the shiny hallway, a little bit exasperated.

The boy resulted to be sweeter than she could ever hope, but the lack of knowledge also suggested one thing, naivety.

'How come that boy is still doing well with such a massive lack of knowledge?!' She took the plates that he used and prepared to clean them.

More than being curious about his background, she felt worried.

In this dog-eat-dog world, anyone that doesn't have basic information such as who the group V2 is.. is bound to be eventually eaten amidst the barrage of wickedness in the streets.

That's why she told him to come again, perhaps that would be her way of self-reassurance.

*Sigh*

"Why couldn't Sarah get a boy like him? instead, she got that drug-addict..." She had been sighing a lot recently, but how could she judge her granddaughter? she had been in that position once as well.

And rather than choose the good boy, she choose the bad boy... look where it got her.

While walking through the shiny dirty streets of London, Morpheus wondered about the information that he was told from Rachel.

'The cute grandma that cooks delicious food' that's how he labelled her as he's personally bad at remembering names, it seems to be genetic.

Rachel is a cute old lady in her late sixties and within her soul, he could feel that beneath that smile there was a lot of sadness and grievance, especially when it came to her 'granddaughter'.

But that's not something he would involve himself with, right now, he's behind something else.

She said something about a 'chip' a device that's implanted in everyone's mind and that has some kind of inner logic to it... it works with 'electricity' or lightning and its function is to give everyone access to the 'global network' moreover it is a fundamental part of the body that helps control the 'cyborg enhancements' that a person has in their bodies.

It was quite exotic and paradoxical for a grandma to teach a youngster about technology, but he truly didn't have a friggin' idea of how everything here worked.

He's a genius in the natural process of the elements and forces that control the universe, but he couldn't believe humans in this world reached such an intricate and excellent manner of using the elements such as lightning and metal.

'Zero and One, huh... interesting.'

To think such a deep secret concealed beneath those two simple numbers, well, it does in nature too.

'Creation and Void'

...

*BOOOOOOOMMM!!!-----

*PAPAPAPA!!!*

"AAAHHH!!"

His thoughts were interrupted by a sudden explosion that resonated a little far away down the road, the people immediately became a swarm of chaotic beasts as they looked for cover.

He smiled and rather than going away, curiosity took over his body as he cast a 1st Tier spell.

<Darkness Mantle>

A shower of darkness covered his body transforming him into a 'black' human, literally staring at him wasn't different from staring at the nothingness.

No one seemed to pay attention as they looked for shelter but some cameras still recorded the occurrences.

His six wings appeared, not looking imbued with the elements rather, they were as black as him.

He leisurely flew through the streets, not calling a lot of attention as from beneath, he camouflaged splendidly with the black night sky, the same couldn't be said from the buildings where they could see a black shadow moving through as if it was a ghost.

!!!!

'W-What is that?!'

**

**

He arrived at the place of the commotion, it seemed to be some kind of building but since they are all characterised for being shiny, luxurious and futuristic, he doesn't know what this is.

'Royal Bank of England'.

...

"Start hacking the devices, we don't have much time!"

The crooks that were now covered in full-bodied armours seemed to have blasted the main entrance and shot their way through until arriving at the main server hub.

They took like appeared to be some kind of 'tank' or at least that's how it looked to him.

As if not minding the black shadow that stared at them from above, they continued to do their own thing as he just witnessed everything... so long as they didn't injure anyone, he didn't plan on stopping them, in fact, he's curious about what they're doing.

Apparently, this is some sort of monetary establishment, but where is the money?

"We have the charges to take down the first vault, they only have 20% of the entire load in cash, the rest is secured in the network, they have three firewalls."

...

"Use the logic bomb and take them down, just enough to hack it." The one that seemed to be like the leader, gave orders as several shots were given to the air in order to further scare off the people that worked in there, he also noticed that several of the 'non-human' figures seemed to not do anything and only seemed to have frozen in place.

'What the hell are they talking about?' He didn't understand what this 'logic bomb' is but he was quite curious to see how everything here would disinvolve.

*PAPAPA!*

"KEEP YER BUMBACLOT HEADS DOWN OR I'M GONNA BLAST YA HEADS!" One of the dudes shot several rounds to the air, and he didn't notice that one of his rounds hit the Magic God right at his chest.

*PIUM*

It was simple, but Morpheus felt the sting.

'Oh... that is... some kind of gun? the projectile is quite small' he noticed that the bullet managed to go through his shadow mantle, then through his clothes, and then it caused a slight sting against his hand.

'It seems I really got weaker... not only my divinity but also, because of this world's sickness.'

As the whole thing took place, one of the men present seemed to grow a little desperate and stood up, intending to run!

"I TOLD YA TO KEEP YER HED DOWN!"

*PAPAPAPA!!*

<Elemental Output: Wind>

The man kept running, unaware that his life just got saved.

Meanwhile, the man that just shot the gun looked at it with bewilderment, he's totally sure that he hit those bullets.

*BOOOMMM!!*

*BOOOMMM!!*

Two bombs exploded the door to the first vault where all the cash was, meanwhile, two of the other crooks connected the 'tank' to the main server through wires.

*UMMMMM!!*

A weird sound resonated through as even the lights of the whole establishment flickered a little.

As this whole ordeal took place, someone from the crowd finally seemed to have noticed that black shadow floating above them inside the establishment.

Most people have bionic eyes that allow them to detect the presence of others in their field of vision, even if it's night, but when he moved his head back and forth, he saw that he wasn't getting any reading from that shadow floating there.

"C-Can you see that, Margaret?"

The man who had been kneeling with his hands above his head, elbowed a woman beside him lightly, pointing at the ceiling.

She saw the shadow and narrowed her eyes, she also can see the shadow but can not detect it.

"Do you think it's a chip malfunction?"

"N-No... t-that..."

"YA DON'T LIKE TO HEAR INNIT!? KEEP YER HEADS DOWN BLOODCLOT!"

*PAPA!!*

The two people immediately clutched their heads, knowing that they'd die, but nothing happen... once again the man seemed to have 'missed' the shots.

!!!

"This damn gun ain't working properly... I'll do it with my hands!" The man seemed to have grown irritated and even threw the gun away, not realising that the bullets were stopped midair and then crushed with air pressure.

When Morpheus saw that he was about to take action, he just waved his hand, controlling the air.

*THUD!*

The head rolled down, leaving an spectacle of blood behind.

His eyes indicated that he didn't even know that he was going to die.

!!!!

"KYAAAA!!!"

The girl immediately yelled and prepared to run away as some of the crooks that were free pointed their guns at them.

*THUD!*

*THUD!*

But their heads rolled down too.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!? SHOW YOURSELF DAMMIT!"

*PAPAPAPA!!!*

The leader of the crooks started to shoot his guns randomly, imaging that someone was using some kind of invisibility filter, he didn't seem to pay attention to the shadow floating midair, it's because darkness will always be less noteworthy.

Every bullet that was about to injure someone was stopped while the people ran madly.

By now everybody ran away and only he and two more crooks remained, he was still scared as he didn't know who killed his companions and the bastard for some reason is not killing him too...

'Personal grudge'?

That's what he thought.

"I'm finished boss!! I've got a million!" One of the men came out with three bags filled with cash money.

"I'm finished too, as expected everything was within the server, I have ten million too, but the public alarm is going to be triggered!"

!!!!

Now he's truly bewildered.

'Huh? Just like that?! Where are those ten million?! and where are the 'authorities'... how come these crooks are blatantly stealing and no one is coming...?'

No one would answer his questions.

The Magic God sighed... in the end, he hadn't learned what he hoped to learn, what he wanted was to 'see' how these chips and the technology within them interacted, but other than just plugging those 'cables' nothing else was done.

He could feel the electric currents, but the switches between 0 and 1 were simply too fast for him to try and 'read' what took place in there moreover, it wasn't always like that, most of those machines didn't work with 0 and 1.

Most of them worked with something even more interesting called 'Quantum Bit' or Qubit.

Quite complicated.

...

Waving his hand he decapitated the three crooks whose bodies fell like trash but rather than immediately departing, he hummed within his mind about something.

The head of the man that took the 'ten million' floated towards his hands in all its bloody splendour, he was using some kind of helmet that covered the entire head.

With the head within his grasp, he used another spell.

<Elemental Output: Stone>

A wave of energy spread through the head as he analysed it.

Then he hovered his hand above the head and opened his fingers as if to catch something.

*PLACK!!*

And then, like a small pop, it came out, the bloody chip moved through the person's brain, phasing through the metal helmet and arriving in his hand.

A piece of complex metal that shone with green brilliance.

'So this is the infamous 'chip'... I have to study this thing.'

Taking the bag of money and everyone's chips he flew away as the cameras focused on that blurry shadow.
