It's the first holiday of the year.

Maxus still hasn't seen her messages despite days passing. Leah knew that he always seemed occupied with something other than focusing on school as well as having emotional trauma from events that took place in his past. Maxus always seemed to unfocused, almost like something big unresolved was constantly haunting him without rest.

On top of all that pain and despression, he had no parents around to comfort or teach him. She knew he had an aunty and uncle who were his legal guardians and were financially supporting him as much as they could but even they weren't that well to do and had their own kids to take care of as well.

Most girls would not even entertain the idea of talking to such a boy, he seemed so uncommitted to most and even to the girls in class, Maxus was just someone who didn't want to be here.
