Chapter 6

In the deepest dark part of the cave, a woman lighted a wooden stick. She moved slowly using the light of the flaming wood and picked a bat out from a chamber. She moved aside placed the flaming wood standing on the ground and sliced off a bat’s head. The dripping blood of the bat she directed it on a small bow, licks the bat’s blood, and started saying demonic words.

She was a Portugal witch that ran from Portugal because she was running for her life. After all her family was murdered, she had a grudge on them and she was ready to do anything to repay. In the Dark Continent, she found a refuge where everybody from Portugal assumed her dead.

As she was reciting the demonic words, she picked up the bow spit in her sliver and using her figure, she stirred the mixture in the bow. Then she faced a human skull that was placed on a rock knelt before it raised the bow in her hand and continued saying the demonic words.

Besides the human skull, the witch took a small bag where she opened it which had some shiny crystals. Off the bag, the woman took one of the crystals that had a red stain and she closely looked at it. The woman smiled on joy dropped the crystal in the portion inside the bow and stir it while still saying the demonic words.

After she fully stirred the portion, she placed the bow on the ground and broke a tooth off the skull on the rock. She then placed the canine on the ground beside the bow and took a jar that was full of white powder. Where she went to where Ofori’s body was laying upwards and placed the jar beside the body.

The woman went back to where the bow and the canine were on the ground took the canine and using it she scratches an alchemy sign on the dead body's left side chest. She placed the canine at the center of the Alchemy circle on the chest.

After that, the woman moved back, and using the portion in the bow, she carefully poured it all around the scratch on the dead body chest. The woman poured the white powder around the body in a circle. Round the white circle, the woman placed six dead bats in an even distance.

After all this, the woman went some steps back, and out of her wrist, she removed a bracelet that had a sign of a cow skull, which she then wore on her neck. Due to respect the woman knelt and pointed the cow skull on the body and started saying, “May the spirit of the son of the dragon ascend to this body,” then she continued with the demonic spells.

Suddenly as the woman was saying, the demonic spell all the flaming torches were blown off by the wind that was on the outer side of the cave. Still, the witch did not stop reciting the demonic spells. The white powder around the dead body started glowing red that made the whole place turn red.

This made the woman raise her voice as saying the demonic word, which made the dead bats on the ground tremble as if they were in a pain. The trembling of the bats moved to softly to more vigorously, they suddenly stopped and the white powder stopped glowing. All this made the witch also stop where she silently at the same position to watch the body.

Looking at the cave entrance, she saw everything was calm.  She stood slowly of the ground and quietly walked towards the dead body to have a closer look. As she was observing the body silent she heard some footsteps turning to where the footsteps were coming from it was the dark side of the cave.

The woman faced that direction for a while as she was breathing heavily. Suddenly behind her, she heard a deep voice saying, “Do you know the danger of not completing a ritual that you don’t even know how is carried through.”

The witch wanting to avoid failure she quickly fell to her knees and continued saying the demonic words to the dead body. As she was saying, the spells then the powder round the dead body busted into a flame that made the witch say the spell more loudly.

Suddenly the dead body started trembling vigorously then after a time of shaking Ofori knelt on the ground faced upwards and start yelling as if he was subjected to certain pain. Due to immersive pain Ofori’s yelling turned to roar that made his long canines visible that was followed his nails started elongating that was making his fingers to Oz out blood.

The witch outside the circle was still resting the spell. As Ofori’s roaring got a high pitch it then suddenly stopped where he faced the witch where his eyes were glowing red and said to the witch, “Stop because you don’t know what you are opening this world too.”

With her ignorance controlled by revenge, she did not stop reciting the words that made Ofori go back to roaring where he was roaring and screaming, “Please stop let me die in peas.” After some minute, the witch finished the spell where Ofori in turn fell flat on the ground.

The witch in fear that she had failed she moved silently around the circle looking at Ofori who was lying dead on the ground hoping of the best she called out, “My servant raise!” where there was no response. Still, after the witch calling out to Ofori's dead body, there was no response. She was fully conversed she did not know the ritual she asked herself under her breath, “Where did I do wrong.”

In the deepest part of the cave, a sound responded, “A soul for a soul.” Rudely the witch turned to where the voice came from and shouted,

“But he will bring thousands of souls.”

“It does not work like that.”

“So what should I do and I have no soul to offer?”

“A soul for a soul.”

The witch got angry and she tossed the skull and the crystals where the sound was coming from. Then she fell on the ground while growling and said to herself, “Why do I have to always make mistakes.”

Suddenly one bat from the cave ceiling dropped to Ofori,s body and it started feeding on the body’s blood. The bat after tasting some of his blood it faced up and produces a sound to call others that made thousands of bats from the cave ceiling fly down to Ofori’s body.

The bats were flying over Ofori’s body making it not visible for the witch to see what was going on in the body. This was unexpected but the witch knew something had happened. After some few seconds of the bats going round Ofori’s body, they all flew out of the cave. That is when the witch saw Ofori was standing upright to where he was lying dead on the ground looking serious. The witch did not had a good clue what she had created, she silently in fear watched at him silently.

Then Ofori turned to the cave entrance where the sunrays were striking which was a beautiful view. Ofori slowly walked there still as the witch was silently looking at him. When Ofori reached near where the sunrays were hitting the ground he stopped and outside the cave, he noticed a dear that was feeding on the grass.  When the dear which was some few distances from the cave turn towards the cave seen the fearless creature that it Ofori had become it ran away.

On the other side of the village, Chief Ashanti was with the Portuguese standing beside a gigantic tree. Chief Ashanti was talking as Barrett who was beside him was translating to Portugal, “This tree is where we come here and pray to our God and this tree is thousands of years old.”

Suddenly all over the sky thousands of bats flew which caught, everybody's attention by looking up in astonishes. This was a sign of evil and bad omens where Chief knew it but hide it from them to make a good vibe with the community. Barrett with his curious character he turned to Chief Ashanti and asked,

“What is going on?”

“I don’t know what is happening because I have never seen these Night creatures flying in the daytime in a large number like this.”
