Chapter 8

"I'll see you around then" Kyle said to Cheryl as they stepped out of the restaurant.

"Sure, thanks for today" Cheryl smiled.

"Does that mean I can have your number" he asked and she chuckled.

"A cop hitting on me, cute" Cheryl laughed,"I do not have friends anyway so.. yeah" she said calling out her digits.

They waved and parted ways with Cheryl walking to her mum's boutique and Kyle smiling sheepishly heading back to the station. She was close to the boutique when someone bumped into her, "hey watch it" Cheryl groaned, but the lady gasped, walking away, "weirdo" Cheryl scoffed continuing her journey.

Meanwhile Laurel took another route back home, she felt restless after bumping into Cheryl.

At Their New Apartment::

"You won't believe what I found" Randy smiled walking in, "wait I thought you went out" he asked.

"Who has this face" Laurel asked smoking slowly.

"That's what I actually found out and you won't believe it" he smirked. "Cherish Roberts, a nineteen year old as of when she died, and a twin to Cheryl Roberts".

"So she's just a twin" Laurel sighed out.

"Huh?"

"Let's say I ran into her twin or rather, MY TWIN" she giggled.

"The interesting part" Randy smiled keeping her in suspense

"Is?" Laurel asked.

"I really can't remember" he said looking away.

"I can crush your balls" she smirked.

"My...." Randy gasped imagining the scene. "Well it turns out her twin or your twin is close to detective Kyle" he said and Laurel broke into a smile, "they might or might not be dating" he blurted nonchalantly.

"That's all I need" Laurel mumbled.

"What are you planning" he asked.

"Something interesting.. definitely Interesting" she laughed.

Fortunately for Cheryl she met her parents at home. Mr Roberts had rushed in to pick something as he would return late at night.

"Dad, thank goodness you're home" she chirped

"You seem happier by the hour" he smiled as his wife rushed down with the documents.

"Oh Cheryl you're back" she smiled.

"Ice cream Sunday?" Cheryl pouted.

"But..."her dad tried making an excuse but she cut him short.

"Yes, you're not chanced, that's why I'm telling you ahead of time" she said, "it's still Friday, you've gat enough time to take permission" she finalized rushing up to her room.

"Better make up to her, I'm sure she's doing this for cherish, she was the one who loved ice cream" Mrs Roberts said to her husband, pecking his cheek as the tired man sighed walking out of the building.

As she got to her room, her phone rang.

"Hello"

"Cheryl"

"Kyle?"

"Great! You recognize my voice"

"Yeah, I won't forget your childish voice"

"I don't sound childish"

"You possibly can't tell"

"Ice cream Sunday?"

"Huh?? No, I have plans with my parents"

"Oh, how about dinner tomorrow"

"Fine, I do eat alot, just so you know"

"(Chuckles) Foodie"

"(Laughs) I need to regain my weight".

"Wear something nice"

" To eat? (giggling) You know I dress nice always"

"And smell nice too, I love your scent"

"(Smiles) I'm proud"

"See you tomorrow then"

"Yeah Kyle" she said and ended the call.

"Shoot the gown" she gasped remembering the gown she wanted to take from her mother's boutique. "I just pray she hasn't sold it yet, I might just wear it to my date tomorrow.. I mean dinner" she blushed rushing out the front door.

"What's going on here" she sighed as she met with a gathering, the people just clustered like there was a show going on she didn't know about, and it is hard to pass through.

"Arrrrrgghh, I have to take the long way, seriously" she gritted in anger and turned but some bitch just knocked her down like she was blind or something.

Cheryl's POV

"Are you blind or something" I yelled but goat kept staring at me.

"Have you lost it?" I yelled but then recalled I didn't have time for this and turned to leave but she dragged me by my hair.

"You psycho" I yelled.

"I guess you're the blind one here, how dare bumped into me without apologizing" she said tightening her grip on my hair and I was scared my scalp would rip off soon.

"Let go of me bitch" I spat and she turned staring murderously at me.

"So they let mad people roam the streets now?" I scoffed turning red with anger.

"You whites have no respect at all, take your frustrations else where dumbass" she smirked and I was left speechless.

"Did you just call me dumbass" I smirked walking closer, that was when I noticed she was actually black skinned, I sighed out and left, I didn't want anyone thinking I was a racist especially Kyle, he's a cop, he might show up if we fought, I don't want him getting the wrong idea about me, he's the only friend I have now.

"Not like you could have beaten her" my subconscious said and I laughed out, for once it was right, she would have beaten me to a pulp, I mean, who bumps into someone and still picks a fight instead of saying sorry. I look ahead and noticed I was few steps away from the boutique,

"Well anger does take you far" I smiled and went in.

"ma'am Cheryl" Layla gasped.

"Layla" I shrieked hugging her tightly.

"I missed you and... You" Layla said.

"I miss cherish too" I comforted.

"My gown" I chirped happily.

"What gown" she asked.

"Mom restocked right?" I asked, "I saw a dress among them, it's red with a floral design at the base, it's sleeveless, a very simple gown" I explained.

"Oh, that" she smiled but frowned immediately, "sorry it's been sold out already" she muttered and my face fell.

"When" I asked.

"Not to long ago" she replied and I felt rage welling up inside me

"That witch" I muttered under my breathe, "she's the cause, I should have really gotten into that fight with her" I growled.

"There's one left though" Layla said taking me to a section.

"Oh" I mouthed as my hopes dropped again, "I really wanted the red one, but I'll take it, the black isn't that bad, I just don't need anyone thinking I'm mourning" I said and my phone beeped in my back pocket.

Bringing it out, I saw a message from Kyle, "hey beautiful, you and I, same restaurant, 6pm, would have said seven but I really don't know how chanced you get, should I pick you up?" I read in smiles.

"Should I pack it up" Layla said bringing me back to reality.

"Uhhh.. yeah... Sure" I replied her and texted Kyle, "nope, I'll meet you there, six is perfect, I'll still have dinner with my parents as a foodie" I sent biting my lips while blushing.

"I did put that into consideration, FOODIE" he replied immediately and his emphasis on the word 'foodie' got me laughing.
