chapter 14

Mrs Roberts kept pacing around in her little office at the boutique, she still couldn't get over what Riley had said. Is there someone out there wearing her daughter's face? It's been a year now, her daughter is slowly coming out of her shell, her family is trying to get over cherish's death, what exactly is happening? She kept pacing until a knock disrupted her.

"Layla?" She called out.

"Some one is here to see you ma'am" Layla relayed.

"Who is that?" Mrs Roberts asked.

"Riley ma'am, Riley Simpson"

"Let her in" she said.

"Woah, I could probably work for you, you know" Riley joked walking into the office.

"Riley" Mrs Roberts smiled.

"Good afternoon mum" Riley greeted.

"Have a seat child" Mrs Roberts offered.

"You called for me?" Riley said. Mrs Roberts had earlier collected her number that day at the house when Cheryl asked her to leave.

"Yes" Mrs Roberts affirmed sitting upright, "and I'd just go straight to the point" she said with all seriousness and Riley replied with a nod.

"How true was your narration" she asked and Riley smiled.

"You don't by any chance think I hurt myself on purpose do you?" Riley asked.

"I didn't say so child, it's just..."

"Your daughter is involved and no one has an encounter with blah blah blah" Riley cut her off, "I really do not know your daughter, yes she was right, we bumped into each a few times and all we did was argue, but one thing I won't do, is to sit back and watch the serial killer mess around with an innocent person after all she put me through".

"Put you through" Mrs Roberts asked.

"Yes, i lost my family, thanks to whoever, she murdered them like they were chickens, I went through hell" Riley said almost tearing up, but no, she was done mourning her parents, "this isn't about me, you should be lucky I told her first, if she goes around showing her face to people like that, your daughter would definitely end up behind bars, she's 20 anyways" Riley said standing to her feet.

"You said Kyle saw her too" Mrs Roberts asked with her head bowed.

"How else do you think I know his name, I met with him, and he thinks I'm an accomplice"

"You met with Kyle" Cheryl said busting into the office.

"Cheryl" her mum called softly.

"I'll take my leave now" Riley said and turned to leave buh Cheryl drew her back.

"I asked a question" she growled but Riley simply stared at her hand on her shoulder and Cheryl withdrew it immediately, "sorry" she muttered.

"The last time i remember, I was asked to get lost" Riley said indifferently.

"I'm sorry about that, I was in..."

"Follow me" Riley cut her off and smiled.

"Goodbye mum" she said to Mrs Roberts and left with Cheryl trailing behind her.

Laurel's POV...

I kept twirling and staring and smiling at the gun in my hand. I should learn how to shoot a gun, maybe I wouldn't have been declared dead before, but my resurrection is sure nice. A female Jesus Christ, but in another dimension, an opposite universe to be precise; he saves life, I take them, there's certainly more joy in that.

"Enjoying your new face I see" Randy joked walking in and I shot at him but he ducked in time.

"What was that" he screeched in shock.

"Practicing my target I'd say" I smirked.

"You're crazy" he said and I shot again but purposefully missing his arm.

"I should have fast reflexes too right" I giggled and he rushed the gun taking it away from me.

"Waddup" I asked walking into my bedroom.

"You actually showed yourself to Kyle, was that your interesting plan" he scoffed.

"Isn't it fun watching someone else take the blame for something she knows not about" I smiled, "oh.. my poor twin" I feigned hurt.

"You're unbelievable" Randy chuckled.

"Don't tell me you have a crush on my twin" I stared waiting for an answer and he twitched his face in a somewhat disgusting manner.

"What?" I asked.

"Why would I do that?" He asked, "when I have you" he smiled.

"Oh please, like there's something between us" I scoffed.

"So what are you planning on doing now they know your face" Randy asked taking an orange juice out of the fridge.

" I'd need to keep a tab on her, they mustn't find out the difference, I'd strike wherever she is or was last" I smirked at my intelligence.

"You're really something else" Randy laughed.

"I just wanna be close to my twin that's all" I pouted cutely and we burst out laughing.

"Cheryl Roberts, we'd make a perfect sister bond, don't you think?" I thought to myself.

Riley's POV..

"This is the place?" I asked.

"Yeah, we first met here and we always have" Cheryl replied me.

I had taken my time to explain to her in details what happened that night, my family, and the consequences of what may happen if she sits still and does nothing. This obviously isn't a ' time will tell ' bullshit, we have to take her head on.

"Let's go in then" I said.

"What for?" She asked dragging me back.

"Oh, to secure a job, trust me you'd look great in a waitress dress" I smiled.

"Huh?" She asked and dragged her in already.

"Wow, it's interior is nice, I guess payment wouldn't be that low, you imagining payday already right?" I smiled poking her shoulder.

"Can you be serious for once" Cheryl scoffed.

"Oh I really thought we came to secure jobs" I scoffed and dragged her to a seat.

"Over there" Cheryl suddenly gasped pointing at a direction which landed on a guy who had his back on us.

"What's over there" I asked.

"Kyle, he's the one, I can't believe he still comes here" Cheryl muttered sadly.

"Awwww, someone can't get over someone, and the other can recognise even from a distance, isn't that lovely?" I whispered and she shivered.

"I guess I'm beginning to love the effect I have on you" I whispered airyly this time around and she looked at me in amusement.

"You wish" she scoffed taking her attention back to Kyle.

"KYLE" I called gaining the attention of everyone including Kyle, but he just stared and looked away.

"I guess we'd go to him then" I sighed dragging her up as she struggled in my grip, I knew she wished to disappear into thin air at that moment.

"You should be grateful, I didn't go screaming, hey your crush is here" I laughed.

"Black witch" she growled dragging her feet slowly.

"White pig" I called romantically and she cringed in disgust.

"Mind you I'm dark skinned more like brown skinned" I smiled as we had already reached his table.

"Hiii" I yelled jumping in front of him but he choked on his drink and Cheryl didnt hesitate in rubbing his back.

" So cute, but I have no one to care about me, so please no PDA okay?" I smiled and sat down. His eyes widened as he saw Cheryl, then turned affectionate, then in anger, like what's with this guy.

"What are you doing here" he thundered, I guess I heard that part alone cause this dude just spoke in a mild tone, I was definitely hearing things, I'm sure he deeply wanted to yell at her, love is sure crazy.

"Kyle" Cheryl called out softly and his eyes switched to loads of affection and back to anger, is he having problems or what?

"Cheryl" the name just rolled out of his tongue and I could swear I'd name my first child that, how could it sound so sweet in his mouth.

"And the staring competition begins" I scoffed as they just stared.

"I heard about the serial killer" Cheryl started.

"I want to believe it's not true but she did have....."

"What's that" he suddenly asked grabbing her right hand.

"It had started well" I face palmed myself.

"Tsk, to believe I had started falling for your lies" Kyle stared away dropping her hand with force as it banged loudly on the table.

"Ouch" she cringed in pain.

"So you decided to show up with your accomplice" Kyle chuckled, "don't you ever show your face to me again except you have a death wish" he growled and I felt scared for a minute, I mean he wasn't even staring or referring to me, tsk.

"I'm not the serial killer" Cheryl said with clenched fists, but he only stared at her for some seconds before standing to leave.

"Kyle".....
