Chapter 7: Bring It

“System Disabled?”

Grey read the penalty and reread it again, refusing to believe what he was seeing.

“This must be a joke right?!”

Grey said, his voice quivering. He was going to have to fight the hulkalean zombie or he'll lose the system.

The zombie noticed Grey and welcomed him with a ear defeaning roar.

It rose to its feet, revealing its full body, a hulking ball of muscles. It regarded him with almost human eyes and insatiable hunger which made Grey shiver.

Ah I'm f*cked...yep, the system had f*cked me up.

It was intimidating and looking really strong which caused Grey to gulp. He grit his teeth and steeled his resolve. He had no choice but the fight.

The zombie charged towards Grey with surprising speed, and punched but Grey was able to dodge.

Baam!

It's fist smashed into the wall and Grey leaped away from it.

It was fast, more agile than your regular zombie.

The juggernaut pursued after Grey, launching its blows in a frenzy. Grey evaded it's attacks not getting a chance to attack as it stacks blows open blows in rapid motion.

If he forced an opening he was bound to get it.

So Grey feinted moving left and the zombie swung hitting air with left it's right side open.

He slash his axe towards it with all the force he could muster, but then.

Crack!

The fire axe shattered on impact, barely cutting the zombie skin.

It wasn't exactly made for combat, yet Grey had used it to kill more than a dozen zombies. Now it was gone, and Grey was weaponless and open to attack

“Shit!”

In a swift motion the zombie turned and backhanded Grey.

Bpow!

Despite blocking it with both arms, Grey was sent sprawling across the room. His body crashing into a desk filled with a pile of files.

Grey groaned as he tried to stand but his arm had gotten numb from the blow, and couldn't use it to rise so he was forced to use only his feet.

“The system must trying to kill me,” Grey muttered. “How the hell am I supposed to defeat this thing?”

It was stronger than him, more durable and agile. He had 30 minutes to clear the quest and worse the penalty. It was too dire.

He couldn't afford to lose the system, not after experiencing it's use. So there was no running away from this. Even if he tried, the beast wouldn't let him.

So he going to do the obvious...Fight.

Battle with all he got, or lose everything, including his life.

Grey feeling more resolved was prepared to go at it again.

He could feel his arm had somewhat recovered, so Grey grinned and gestured for the zombie come.

The zombie roared at the provocation and charged towards him.

On reaching Grey the zombie threw a punch toward his head but it missed as Grey had slid in between the juggernaut legs.

Grey then rose to his feet and turned towards the zombie now open back, before lunging a blow powered by lighting.

Boow!

The zombie yelled in pain as electric current ran through it body. It turned attacking with a wide swing, but Grey ducked, and landed a upper cut on the zombies jaw which sent it tottering backward.

Grey didn't give it breathing space, as he close the distance and began to bombard it with powered blows.

Under the relentless assault, the zombie raised both arm and used it to defend it's head.

Grey was stunned, he didn't expect the zombie to go on defense.

He rained more attacks, but couldn't land a damaging hit.

No matter how much he hit, the zombie just wouldn't budge.

This could be a problem. Grey thought to himself. If he kept attacking at this pace he'll burn through both his stamina and mana reserve, and then it'll be the zombies turn.

There was also the issue of stamina. Since he had gotten into combat with it juggernaut its been a series of high paced move one after the other.

He had to end this soon, so he stopping attacking.

The zombie noticed Grey had stop hitting and remove his hand. Grey wasn't in sight but then it felt a touch on his back. The human was behind him.

“Hey, quit wasting my time and let's get this over with."

Grey said and fired a concentrated blast of lighting to the zombie back.

Boom

“Keiok!”

The zombie yelp as it's body forcefully blasted forward, tumbling unto it crash into the wall.

Grey was shocked by the power of his attack and he watched as fumes poured out of his arm. That attack, had taken roughly percent of his entire mana, and he had only a little left.

The jaggernaut rose to its feet groaning. It then roared loudly releasing a powerful shockwaves and it muscles began to bulge it's skin color going from white pale to reddish pink.

[Warning: Zombie has used beserk]

Beserk?

Grey repeated as he watched the zombie and readied himself for any sudden move

The zombie paused for a second and then raised it head before it moved.

Whoosh

If Grey hadn't hurriedly swerve to the side, the juggernaut blow would have taken off his head.

The zombie turned towards him and began to ram powerful blow, Grey put all his focus in evading and keeping away from the zombie.

It was much more faster and aggressive.

Grey pushed his body to the limit, not able to stay in one position for a second before the zombie decimate the place.

Grey was starting to see how the jaggernaut had been able to make such a bloody mess out of the zombie he saw in the hallway.

The zombie hurled a desk at Grey, but it smashed into the wall missing Grey who had jumped away.

As Grey stood to move, his leg felt like it weighed a ton and he slowed. This cause the zombie to catch up to him.

It caught Grey by the leg wrapping it's huge fingers around it before raising him up. Grey eyes widened in panic. This was bad.

Before he could think of anything the zombie slammed his body unto the ground.

Grey eyes went blank as his entire bone creaked, and he coughed out blood. His consciousness faded but Grey held on to his will to survive and open it gritting his teeth.

He needed to find away out of this but he was tired and his body urged him to give up.

The zombie raised him up again and to slam him to the ground.

But Grey channeled his energy causing materialized lightning blade to form, and cut the zombie by the wrist taking off it's hand.

Grey fell to the ground and the zombie roared in pain, holding it's forearm as black blood poured out. .

Grey was half conscious and barely hanging, but he forced himself to stand despite his body howling objection.

“System add 5 point to vitality.”

He said and felt the pain slightly reduce, enough for him to rise to his feet.

“Add the remaining to intelligence.” Grey said and he felt his mana rose as well.

He began to channel his mana causing it to flow through his entire body.

His aim was to use empower himself, boosting his stats and he managed to achieve it.

Lighting cackled out of his body and his eyes glowed blue.

Grey mana was draining rapidly but he didn't care. He was going to burn in all with his next series of move and at the end only one will be left standing, “I hope you're ready.”
