Chapter 39: About Demons

Rose looked down on her twisted hands and chuckled almost unnoticed. Even though Elnora had been looking closely she missed the quick moment of amusement Rose just had. It was unbelievable to think, there was no other person capable of doing that aside the human demon. She couldn't resist to entertain a stupid thought that popped in her mind, what if he did all that demon manifestation just to scare her so he could steal her food. The image of his transformation registered in her head again but it didn't scare her like it had done before. This was all strange to her, despite witnessing all this that seemed too unbelievably true, she still managed to keep her cool and not alert anyone about her discovery. Why did she feel safe with him at a point and scared to her bones for the same person. Why did she feel the need to protect him earlier instead of screaming to alert the guards? It was indeed so strange to her. She had been staring into space oblivious, dipped in her thoughts. She blin
