Chapter Ten- Min’s training begins!

“H-ha, ha, ha, ha…” Min was huffing and puffing from her recently finished exercise

'System open'

      Do 300 pull-ups----- Completed

      Do other minor exercises for 4 hours---- Completed

      Eat an 'Spiritual energy revitalizing peach' ---- In session

Min who was munching on a fruit stared at her screen for a while but after raising up her clothes to see the miracle of abs that even Mrs. Kyu's training couldn't bring out, she sighed

'For the abs I guess'

Three Weeks ago~

'Wow! It's actually a system! Coolyo~ '

Min stared in amazement when the system asked her if she wanted to listen to the voice message left by sukiru or check out the system

She decided to hear what Sukiru had for her---

"Hello" Sukiru's tenor-like voice was heard with a trace of boredom in it

"This is sukiru and I'll explain the basis of this system to you. It will take care of your training, diet, give you missions to do in exchange for awards, we can communicate with you anytime but you have to pay a price to communicate with us…"

How unfair!

But sukiru continued "The currency to use in your system is called 'Points' and just like its name it's the point you get from doing quests given by the system or us, Any sensible question you have for it will be answered unless the answer is restricted and other ones it can't answer will be answered by us. Instead of wasting my breath, check the system out for yourself"

Min did just as she was told without complaint, she first of all checked her stats---

She asked her system how speed and strength were calculated.

A monotone female robotic voice spoke-

"In the average human to an athletic human, a baby has a strength and speed of 3-5, a kid---5-9, an adolescent—9-15, a teenager—12-25/30, an adult---19-45, an elderly---8-11, on basis of good health;

It is right to point out that some abnormal humans may have more strength or speed.

For Mage nobles it is random since it depends on their power, an instance is between a baby born with psychic powers and the other with a fire ability, the baby with the fire ability will tend to have more strength than the other baby since the baby's power concentrates more on psychology than physiology;

Even with this, nobles tend to be stronger and faster than normal humans and some abnormal ones due to the absorbance of spiritual energy from their world".

Min understood where the system was coming from, since nobles were born in the magic world, they got a head start before the outsiders, so outsiders had to train to at least have 1/10th of what the nobles had, to have a strong body capable of doing magic.

This was troublesome for the schools and that explained why nearly all magical school rejected accepting outsiders since their training was bugging, but the king was really trying, funding schools that accommodated outsiders more than ones that didn't in order to get more schools to take in outsiders; min even read that a school meant for outsiders was in construction.

Min opened the skills tab and was happy they had given her some skills, it seemed it was the system's beginner package. Her skills were five in number---

/ Detection---

      This skill gives you the ability to appraise people. The information and people you can appraise depended on the difference of level. It also allows you to detect certain hidden things through spiritual energy <Level 1>. Upgradable to a higher version

Magical Sense—

      This skill allows you to communicate, see, sense, and activate things using spiritual energy. If your senses get sharp enough you could predict futures although not the exact event since the future can always be changed by a variable <Level 1>. Upgradable to a higher version

Charisma (Passive skill)—

      This will make people and animals alike not only like but also trust you more and want to befriend you. The higher version is another skill.

Trickery—

      This will make people believe your lies and fall for your tricks more. When it reaches a certain stage it could give you the ability to delude people and create illusions. A passive skill of it can be gotten that makes even a slight action of yours confuse souls if you want <Level 3>. Upgradable to a higher version and also in Passive form.

Soul and Mind Barrier (Passive skill)—

    This will prevent outside forces below god-level from doing any activities to your soul and mind unless the user allows it. The higher version can cause a rebound to the proprietor <Level 3>. Upgradable to a higher version /

Min found the skills useful especially the 'Trickery' skill, she opened her magic stats, she saw her power and was mighty pleased but then she saw the other stats and they were rather poor, well, some of them, her magic stats were—

    Ability to learn and use any powers. Flaws can be detected by the skill-- 'detector', to avoid user adding flaws into powers.

Min was a bit taken aback by the 'F' in awakened seeing how awesome her power was, so she asked the system how the powers were leveled.

"This is the level of power you have and can USE, right now since you're ability is 'Learning of powers' and you haven't learnt any power, therefore you are factually powerless but because you have a magical power, you still have a level although it's the lowest level"

The 'Factually powerless' stabbed min in her heart and she suddenly realized why people didn't exactly like her bluntness, can't you just sugarcoat the words?

She decided to let it be and checked the shop tab and saw it was divided into two—

/ Skills and Other things /

Min: '—'

'Wow 'Other things' is quite… a realistic name.

But sukiru ignored her and as always was busy fixing another thing.

Min clicked the skills column and was greeted by another 24 columns each with her emotions name…

Kokishin: huh? Why emotions?

Min: you were literally named after the emotions felt by people

Kokishin: hmm~

The skills were grouped in columns of their names before finally seeing another neutral column had 'Normal skills' on it as its heading.

'Sukiru's naming sense…, seriously.., ah, forget it'

Min clicked on the so called 'Normal skills' and was shocked by what she saw

There was Teleportation, super-speed, night vision, invisibility, cooking madness, multiples, easy understanding and a bunch of others, they weren't locked and could be bought or rented with points,

Min was done with sukiru's naming sense, what sort of names were this? Multiples? Is this mathematics?; Cooking madness? A game?; Easy understanding? Textbook?.

WTF is it with your naming ability girl?

Minus the names, the abilities were cool, like that of a superhero, although this was a fantasy world, who said sci-fi and fantasy can't mix up?

And Min would rather go for sci-fi, so it was a win-win situation for her.

She opened the first emotions' name and saw what not only befuddled her but annoyed her

It was all blurred and she couldn't see the skills, not only the first but the second and the third, all of them! In irritation she asked the system-

"System! Why are the skills blurred?!"

"It seems you need to fulfill a special condition for it to open"

"Like?"

"Information is locked and can be only unlocked on later basis"

Min had to take a deep deep deep deep deep…..

Min: I'm pissed, okay?!

She took a deep breath and calmed herself down. Grudgingly, she opened the 'Other things' column, what she saw brightened her mood a bit; It had different equipment, both magical and normal including—

/ The arrow and bow of direction—

    It shows the direction of someone or something that was marked with spiritual sense <500 points>

Augmenting cauldron—

  Helps to amplify the steps in the making of medicine, spells, food and other things <700 points>

The spear of convergence—

    Converges different types of powers to the tip and envelop target with it <5000 points>

Convenient Pen—

    Can be changed into various forms, depending on plan bought

                  <200 points> Only academic and stationery items

                <500 points> Academic, stationary items and mischief making items

iii.                  <2000 points> Academic items, stationary items, beautifying items like clothes and makeup  and other convenient items e.g Tent, scissors, speakers, e.t.c

              <3500 points> Academic items, stationary items, beautifying items, other convenient items and electronics

                <7,000> Academic items, stationary items, other convenient items, electronics and all forms of 'Normal weapons'

Little Sleeper bug—

    A mechanical bug that has a sleep inducing medicine that can cause people to fall asleep when injected into by its sting. Its workability depends on a person's level of spiritual energy manipulation resistance <300 points>

Fake death pill—

    Portrays a person to look dead, no breath, no movement, no spiritual energy activity. Its limit is 5 hours <100 points>

Sleep inducing pills—

    Helps you fall into a half-death sleep like state, helps in serious cases like Soul pain, that cause sleep deprivation <50 points>…. /

Min read about a lot of items in the store, she didn't even know that some of the things these items did were possible, a normal person could even become powerful, with just the use of these items.

She omitted one very important fact which was—points, and later on she'll come to curse at her ems (emotions) and also at her spicy chicken excitement that made her overlook that very important issue.

Min clicked at the last tab, which had 'Classes' written on it. It had tutorials to watch, training sessions which involved meeting her ems directly, various training places to go to, all in exchange for points.

She was excited to start getting points, but right now her body wasn't really in a good condition and she needed rest, she sighed discontentedly and slept off.

Later on, when min had recovered, Mrs. Kyu tried everything to find out min's power but couldn't, she would have believed that min was powerless and start teaching her weapon use but the 'Power meter' kept calling min an F awakened, if she was without power, she would have gotten an 'NOT AWAKENED' card from the measurement.

Mrs. Kyu wondered why her life was so hard. What were they going to report about Min's condition in the 'Outsiders report'? She knew that this kid would be trouble but seriously?

Min could only avert her eyes guiltily whenever she saw Mrs. Kyu in a bad mood and enjoy her meal while missing shai's heavenly meals.

   Back to date

After consuming the fruit, min checked her stats and saw she had gotten 25 points, which meant that each of the exercises that she was asked to do was 5 points each.

The daily quests as it name implied was given on daily basis, the exercises would be changed in three month time but the last quest which told min what to consume after exercises always changed;

It was a type of quest where although all of them gave points each, to complete the quest and get your points, you had to finish all the quest and not get it half done.

Another major thing about this quest was that failure to do it amounts to a penalty and min was very curious to know what the penalty was, but for now she was weaker than a worm and needed to be prepared for anything in case of unexpected incidents, she still had some doubts about her ems and couldn't completely trust them.

She had always been like this, trust wasn't something that came easily for her, even until her mother's death, she still doubted certain things about her.

Dong and Claire were her friends but she still had some difficulty completely trusting them.

Trust was something she had a problem with and she knew that the process of fixing it wouldn't be easy.

"System, which other way can I earn points? The daily quests is too slow and I wanna get the last plan of that pen"

"You have nothing to sell and none of your ems have any missions for you, do you want to advertise your dealings to them?"

Min thought about it and wanted to reject it thinking that it would be too shameless but after imagining turning that pen into any brand of laptop she wanted, even a brand that hasn't been made that can let her watch an episode of her favorite films that hasn't been released......

She threw all her pride out of the window, what was pride? Can it be eaten? Can she relieve her boredom with it? It was completely useless in this situation! And Min didn't do useless.

"I agree"

"This will cost ten points please"

Min deflated like a balloon, cursing and weeping in agony she gave away her points.

'It was just *hik* about to reach 500 points….'

Few minutes later, min who was lazily reading a horror book that she may have come across over the net wondered whether she had been scammed off her points. She wanted to call the system when it suddenly appeared on its own.

Min blinked, then screamed a heart wrenching 'Nooooo' in a hushed voice while dramatically putting her hands over her head and lowering herself in a kneeling position before hitting the floor with a bang!

She lowered her head while placing her hands now on the floor, her long black disheveled hair covered her face and she squeezed out a few crocodile tears

'Wuwuwu, those meanies! Banning me from visiting them without using points and then tempting me in such a way! *Sniff* *sniff*, I bet she didn't even know she was only rubbing it in more than helping, I do wonder (raises head), how good the cake would be…. (drools~)'

"Trainee"

"Yes?" Answered min who had already stopped stood up and fixing her hair

"You're acting like a pig, please stop it"

Min was surprised for a while, before realizing that an artificial intelligence HAD! INSULTED! HER!

She smirked

"System"

"Yes, trainee?"

"Next time, when delivering my ems messages, please use a voice message, your voice made them sound ridiculous"

Min wasn't exactly lying, Happi and shai had child-like voices and with the system monotone voice it sounded very awkward especially the time shai started crying, just imagine someone going all—

/ Waah!!! Hik hik! Wuwuwuwu! ~~~~/ in a monotone voice, MAJOR AWKWARD.

The system couldn't retort and could only silently bite its lips in suppressed annoyance.
