6. Hatred Due to Loss

The door to the Ravensville residence opened roughly; a man walked in and found Clara, Ethan, and Laura in the living room.

The man with an athletic body and bald head stepped toward Ethan with his heart full of anger.

"You bastard, Ethan!" the man shouted.

Ethan pulled Laura's hand and led her backward away from the man's attack. The man managed to dodge a punch from the man who had just arrived.

"How dare you come here nonchalantly after destroying Raven Company?!" he snapped.

"Hold on, George. I don't want to hurt you," Ethan pleaded, trying to calm George down.

George Hughes was a businessman, the CEO of Denvy Company, and none other than Raven's close partner. He also lived here as the husband of Hilda Ravensville, Laura's older sister.

The reason for George's anger had a strong base, especially about the termination of the cooperation between Tony Blair and the Raven Company.

If the cooperation was canceled, not only Raven would suffer, but Denvy would as well since he participated in using the server.

"You've hurt us, the Ravensvile family, Raven Company, and my company. You put Liam in the hospital!" growled George.

"Dad was hospitalized?" asked Laura, George glaring at Laura.

"You don't know who you are, Laura! You'd rather stay with a pathetic man like him than start a new life with Leon," shouted George, his once-white face turning bright red instead of blushing, but the blood of his anger was already filling his head.

"My life is my decision. Why do you want to interfere with my marriage so desperately?!" fumed Laura, knitting her eyebrows as she locked eyes with George.

"What you've done is disgrace Ravensville's face before Hammington. They might consider Ravensville a despicable family for breaking the agreement!" explained George.

Laura knew about the agreement between the two families, but it wasn't Laura who decided on the deal; it was Liam with Nicholas, the head of the Hammington family.

The deal's contents varied, but one of the agreed points was to marry Laura to Leon. The rest was just a business deal between them.

Ethan squinted, not knowing anything about the deal, and would talk to Laura about it. Ethan whispered something to his wife, an order to leave through the back door.

"You're not going to stop us from leaving, are you, Clara?" asked Ethan, making sure.

Clara shook her head, not caring about that and more concerned about returning to her room. Ethan smiled; his main problem now was George.

A tense situation was created in the living room of the Ravensville residence. None of the servants dared to intervene in the dispute; they preferred to watch from afar and become witnesses.

Laura hurried away through the back door, pulling two suitcases to leave the house. George was annoyed, shouting abuse at Laura.

"Come here, you fucking bitch!" George screamed.

Ethan spread his arms to the side, blocking George's pursuit of Laura. Realizing his way was blocked, George didn't bother. He immediately swung his hand to the side to punch Ethan in the face.

The man beside George blocked the attack well, walking backward while setting up a fighting stance. George grinned, not expecting Ethan to challenge him to a fight.

George took off the black suit and rolled up the sleeves of the white shirt, "I don't know what happened to you, but you're still a loser in my eyes!"

The bald-headed man landed a blow to Ethan's body, his fists trying to strike Ethan's head, body, and neck.

To the surprise of George and the other servants, including Clara, watching the fight from the stairs, Ethan doesn't always dodge but also parries George's attacks with his athletic body.

Thomas didn't even dare to fight with George, realizing the strength of Hilda's husband's body. However, Ethan was in a different situation.

Ethan continued to dodge and occasionally attack George when he found an opening in his weakness. George flinched, but the anger in his heart made him continue to attack Ethan relentlessly.

"I'm going to kick your ass right here, you son of a bitch!" George shouted.

From Ethan's glimpse of George's fighting style, it could be said that George mastered one of the main martial arts disciplines. However, he was not afraid of that, given that Ethan held a black belt in Presage military martial arts.

George grew increasingly furious when every attack he launched failed to bring Ethan down. The furniture in the residence was shattered and broken, some falling apart due to their fight.

CLANG!

Flower vases were shattered, paintings were dropped and torn, and the servants were pale-faced, fearing that the entire house would be destroyed by their fight.

On the other hand, Ethan was delighted that George's hateful blow after blow had destroyed Liam and Grace's favorite things. Now, Ethan only had to wait for George to be severely scolded by his in-laws.

George's breathing was labored; attacking was more tiring than defending. His punching and kicking attack started to slow down; Ethan used that moment to turn the tide.

An uppercut hit George's chin, making the bald-headed man gasp. Ethan lashed out from side to side, spinning around to avoid George's counter-attacks, and then kicked George's leg, knocking the man onto his back.

Ethan sat on the man and struck George hard in the face. George had trouble blocking it, leaving his face bruised and covered in blood.

The man on top of George began to run out of breath, feeling he had reached his limit. Ethan got up from the position of sitting on George, seeing the bones in his hands scuffed from the fight.

"It'll make you remember... I'm different from ten years ago!" stated Ethan, stammering.

"Who the fuck are you?" asked George, asking softly with his body still on his back.

Ethan chose not to answer the question. He raised his head and saw Clara sitting on the stairs, watching the fight like she was watching a movie.

"I was hoping you could explain things here to Liam and Grace," Ethan pleaded.

"I don't have time for that. Let the maids explain it," Clara replied, standing up from her seat on the stairs as her eyes looked at Ethan, "You really have changed a lot, Ethan."

The man didn't reply to Clara's words. Ethan chose to leave the place by leaving George lying helpless.

"You picked the wrong enemy, Flynn! Orion will definitely hunt you down!" threatened George.

Ethan had heard that, but he didn't know what Orion was, whether it was a person or a name. However, Ethan didn't care.

The door of the Ravensville residence closed with a slam. Ethan walked away towards his sedan car, where Laura was already near the vehicle, accompanied by Lucas.

Seeing Ethan arrive with bruises on his face and bloody cuts on both hands made Laura anxious. She walked over to Ethan to get a good look at his condition.

"I don't want to see you get hurt while protecting me," Laura replied, her eyes glazing over as she realized Ethan's struggle to save her wasn't bullshit.

"This isn't much. Get in the car, I need to talk to my driver," Ethan pleaded.

Laura turned slowly to Lucas, then said yes to Ethan's request. Laura was already in the car, and Ethan was talking to Lucas at a distance from the vehicle.

"Do you need anything?" Lucas asked.

"Tell Tony because I can't possibly talk to him around Laura," Ethan replied, crossing his arms over his chest, "Tell him to get the information about Orion as soon as possible. Then send it to my email once he's found it."

"Yes, sir."
