CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SEVEN

As Sam returned home, a self-satisfied grin adorned his face, believing he had successfully manipulated Logan into submission. Mr. Patrick, his reluctant accomplice, noticed the elation and couldn't help but inquire, "What's up, Sam? You seem pretty pleased. Got some good news?"

Sam, reveling in his perceived triumph, downplayed the situation, replying, "Ah, nothing much happened. Just some smooth sailing."

Unconvinced, Mr. Patrick pressed further, "Come on, Sam. You can share the good news with me. We're in this together, right?"

But Sam persisted, maintaining his air of mystery, "Nothing worth sharing, Patrick. Just routine business."

Despite Sam's evasive response, Mr. Patrick reassured him afterwards saying, "Well, I spoke with Baton. He understands the need to keep things clean from now on. No more messy work."

Sam, pleased with the assurance, nodded. "Good. We can't afford any unnecessary attention. Baton needs to stick to the plan and stop leaving clues for the cops."
