CHAPTER 9. Pay for commotion caused.

CHAPTER 9.

PAY FOR COMMOTION CAUSED.

Olivia couldn't help but smirk, a wide grin stretching across her lips, when she saw Robert go mute in response to Ivannah's words.

Ivannah wasn't someone to mess with. Not only was she the owner of the school's cinemas, but she was also known for being ruthless and cold-hearted. She never backed down on her words. Seeing how sternly she looked at Robert, Olivia and Owen felt relieved. Finally, someone else was going to deal with him!

They exchanged glances and both smiled wickedly.

Suddenly, Robert burst into laughter. "Pay for everything?" he repeated incredulously. "That's impossible! Why should I pay for everything when I did nothing wrong? I was the one being bullied by this ugly duckling and his gold digger," he said, pointing his hands at both Olivia and Owen. "If you're struggling financially, you should politely ask for assistance!"

He sneered as he spoke.

Ivannah's eyes slightly widened at his words. Did he just suggest that she was going broke? Did he imply that she was in a weak position?

She muttered coldly to herself, "The boy is really bold."

Her boys moved to grab Robert, but she stopped them, leaving both onlookers and students shocked.

"Get that pauper! Why are you letting him go after he just called you broke, Miss Ivannah?" Owen snapped, his fists clenched and his face red with anger. He glared at Robert, who seemed completely unfazed. Owen's anger only intensified, but he swallowed it down, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down his throat. He couldn't cause a scene in front of Ivannah. After all, she was filthy rich and belonged to a mafia group. Any funny business could cost him his life.

"Did Miss Ivannah just let Robert go after he called her broke?" one student asked another.

"I don't think so. It's the calm before the storm. Robert will be dead meat when he can't afford a VIP seat!" another student laughed.

"Afford a VIP seat? You must be on some kind of drugs if you think he can even afford a regular seat, let alone a VIP one!" someone retorted.

Murmurs filled the room, and anxiety wrapped around everyone. They couldn't wait to see what Ivannah would do to Robert. She was capable of many things. Getting the chancellor to expel him wouldn't be a big deal for her, but it wouldn't be right if she didn't teach him a lesson in front of everyone.

Ivannah scrutinized Robert for a few moments before walking up to him, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Isn't your name Robert Edward?" she asked.

Robert looked at her with pride. "Yes, that's me," he replied confidently.

Ivannah was slightly taken aback. She had heard stories about him, about how poor he was. In fact, he became well-known after his public breakup with Olivia. She wondered if he had taken some sort of drug to be so self-assured. He rarely came to the cinemas, and the only time he managed to afford it was when there was a discount, bringing the price down to around five dollars per ticket.

She turned her gaze to her accountant, who understood her signals and quickly hurried out. Then she returned with a calculator, handing it over to Ivannah.

"You'll have to pay for the commotion caused, and that means all the seats that would have been occupied today," she sneered, causing gasps to ripple through the crowd of onlookers.

Did she just say all the seats? Fuck! That meant all the regular and VIP seats.

That was too much for Robert to pay for.

"All the chairs?" someone asked in shock. "Robert's generation would never be able to afford that!”

Another person remarked, "He would have to become Miss Ivannah's pet. I can swear on my life he can't even afford a VIP seat!"

"Now let's see if your salary insurance will cover all of that," Olivia mocked, raising her eyebrows as she glanced at Robert. But something seemed different about him.

Everyone felt sorry for him, but he appeared completely unfazed, which unsettled Olivia. She wanted to see him beg so badly.

"I see you're acting tough now," she scoffed. "Well, let's see when the numbers come out."

A few minutes later, Ivannah finished calculating the amount she wanted Robert to pay.

She began, "The total for the regular chairs is $5,525, and the VIP seats cost $8,250."

The amount left Robert stunned. He had no idea that the cinemas brought in this much revenue.

But when Ivannah and Owen saw his smile fading away, they couldn't help but smirk happily. Of course, he had been acting tough just a while ago, and now it seemed like he realized his mistake, but it was too late.

"What? That's $13,775!" exclaimed one of the students.

"Robert can never afford that. Not even his annual paycheck would be enough!”

Ivannah walked up to Robert with a triumphant smile. "Hey, boy. I know you're smart and probably calculated the total. So, can I have my money?" Her voice snapped Robert out of his thoughts, and laughter erupted from the crowd.

"He must be realizing what he's gotten himself into!"

"Poor Robert, now he has to think harder. Not even his ancestors can help him now."

Their words cut deep into Robert's skin, but he tried to remain calm. They were just being gullible. While they thought he was pondering the amount Ivannah had mentioned, he was actually thinking about buying the entire cinema to add to his wealth, considering how much revenue it generated,The whole cinemas wasn't even fully open and it did that for a fourty five minutes movie? When over 1500 are in different parts of it then…..

"How much did you say again?" Robert asked.

Ivannah smirked. "$13,775! I hope you can pay up unless..."

She left her threat hanging, observing Robert's smirk.

"So, I'll be supporting this establishment with a whopping $13,775? Well, then I should be a lifetime VIP, don't you think so?"

Ivannah's face contorted into a deep frown. Was he playing with her? Well, he better pay up, or she wouldn't let it slide. She looked at Robert, her tone now cold. "Pay up now.”

The entire room fell into silence when Robert asked, "Cash or card?"

Gasps rippled through the onlookers, and Olivia's mouth hung open in shock as she muttered, "Does Robert really have that kind of money?"

Owen's jaw nearly hit the floor when Robert reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash. His eyes widened in disbelief—it was dollars!

Olivia felt like disappearing into thin air; she was utterly embarrassed. She couldn't bring herself to meet Robert's gaze and hung her head in shame. The room descended into a heavy silence, as if everyone was collectively holding their breath in astonishment—and they really were holding their breaths!

Where had Robert obtained such a sum of money? Owen would do anything to have the answer to that question.

Other students couldn't help but watch as Robert calmly counted his money. They were eating their own words in an instant.

"This is fourteen thousand dollars," Robert stated, a proud smirk playing on his lips. "You can give Miss Ivannah the remaining two hundred and twenty-five dollars to grab some shots of tequila to calm her nerves." He handed the money to Ivannah's secretary, adding a touch of mockery to his words.

His words cut deep into Ivannah's pride. She wanted to tear him apart, but she composed herself, reaching out her hand to take the money from her accountant. However, when she did, her eyes widened in shock.

"Fuck! These are fake dollars!" she exclaimed.
