Light At Tunnel's End

Pan, Jackie, and Cory went through the next door to find themselves in a dark tunnel. The fog had thinned, and the temperature was warmer. The group walked silently, their bare feet pattering on the wet floor. About a hundred feet away, light shone at the end of the tunnel.

Pan and Cory tried hard not to turn their heads and check out Jackie. The girl had insisted that she walk behind them. Even in pitch-black darkness, you couldn't trust boys. The wrong thing might bump into the right place.

They were midway when a tiny creature hopped in front of them. Jackie gave out a yelp and turned to run. Was it one of the freak monsters? Pan and Cory prepared to kick it into a pulp.

"It's okay, children," the creature said. "Calm down. It's me." An orb of light emanated from its paw and lit up the cave. Suddenly aware of their nudity, the teenagers covered up their private parts with their hands.
