Chapter 2: Party

Adonis heard a big noise, it seems tables and chairs were overturned.

“Really? Boss? You’re still alive? We thought you...” Finn’s voice was so exciting, he was the most faithful assistant of Adonis.

“Yes, and now I’m sure that our enemies were in the army.” Adonis said coldly, he was poisoned in the army, only people who stayed in the army to could poison him.

“I see, boss, I’ll investigate the truth, no matter who did that, I’ll kill them all!” Finn said with anger.

“Go ahead Finn, and on more thing: tell Max come to Seapool City, I want the Majestic Group to be ran here. I need him to invest 1 billion dollars here!”

Adonis hang up the phone. Majestic Group was his secret business, he knew if he wanted to revenge, he needs plenty of money and power.

Adonis took a deep breath, he stood up from the bed.

“Aubrey said she would be forced to engage someone else...”Adonis’s eyes became sharp, “Let’s see who dared to take my woman away from me!”

At the party, everyone dressed up with fancy clothes.

It was the birthday party of Everleigh Caddel, the oldest woman of Caddel family, the grandmother of Aubrey.

Everyone was presenting their gifts to her, a butler stood there, announcing the gifts of the young generations.

“Edwin, diamond necklace, worth 100 thousand!”

“Jeremy, jade bracelet, worth 500 thousand!”

Everyone must show their present before they entered, it was like a show off.

Different families showed how they respect the old lady of this big family, if they present a cheap gift, they would be mocked.

“Next one, Aubrey, what’s your gift?”The butler asked arrogantly. He knew Mrs. Caddel disliked Aubrey, so he dared to behave arrogantly.

If other family members came, he acted very respectful to them.

“Me? Nothing.” Aubrey replied coldly, Anna didn’t tell her to bring some gift. Even she did, Aubrey wouldn’t bring any.

She knew what will happen on today’s party, her grandmother would announce the engagement between her and Zayn, that animal.

So, why should she bring a gift for this nightmare?

Furthermore, she had no money to buy her a good gift. Mrs. Caddel took every penny she made.

The butler looked livid, he said viciously, “Well, it seems you’re the least respectful person to Lady Caddel!”

Then he said with highest voice, “Aubrey, she presents nothing!”

The whole party burst into laughter, everyone started to mock Aubrey.

“How dare she, didn’t she know grandmother treated this party so important?”

“She is the CEO of Omnilert, but acts so stingy...”

“I heard she had a vegetable-man husband, she must use every penny on that useless loser...”

Mrs. Caddel was furious too, she looked at Aubrey and said viciously, “Is this how you celebrate my birthday, Aubrey?”

Aubrey looked at her calmly, she had to pretended to be strong. “It’s not I don’t want to bring you anything, grandmother. You know that you took every penny I made from Omnilert...”

Mrs. Caddel screamed, “Are you blaming me, Aubrey? This is the reason why you came here without any gift? You could deliver food, you could clean the street to make money, I didn’t forbid it!”

Aubrey felt so sad, she told herself that she can’t cry, but tears were in her eyes.

“I have to ran the Omnilert! Everyone counts on this company to live! The gifts they presented, they all bought them with the profit of Omnilert! You can’t...” Aubrey was so wronged, everyone of the family could get their profit from Omnilert, except her.

The real CEO of this company!

They only use her to make money, but treat her like a trash!

“Enough! I’m done with your quibbling, stand out of there! You want to cheat for food with nothing? Then I’ll give you nothing!”

Mrs. Caddel roared, she was angry because Aubrey dared to challenge her authority.

“I’m sorry to see this scene, Mrs. Caddel. If permitted, I’d like to present a gift to you on the behalf of Aubrey.” A young voice came.

Mrs. Caddel’s face changed to smile when she heard the voice, “Oh Zayn, it’s you! Nevermind, I’m just trying to discipline the kid from Caddel family. If she is not educated well, she would be a shame of your family. After all, she would marry you soon!”

Zayn smiled evilly when he heard the word marry, he tried to get Aubrey for years, he slept with different girls every week, but only Aubrey never replied to him.

Which made him more interested in her!

“What? That Zayn would marry Aubrey? What kind of good luck she got?”

“Zayn is one of the richest and most powerful guy here, Aubrey would become one of the most powerful family...will she take revenge on us?”

“Stop kidding, you must know what kind of person Zayn is...she might be dumped after their first night!”

“Silent!” Mrs. Caddel roared, she didn’t want Zayn to hear those discussions. But Zayn didn’t care what they said.

Because it was true, once he got tired of Aubrey, he would kick her out of his family, as he always did to those poor girls.

However, at this time, a relaxing and slightly ironic voice came from the gate of the party hall.

“Excuse me, who permitted you guys to determine my wife’s marriage?”
