CHAPTER TWO

I touched my left ear and my helmet came on. Then, using my right leg, I kicked my let foot and my boosters turned on. And I went flying into space. Making sure ugly doesn’t catch me with his spaceship. Because he was just a few paces away from me.

I dodged a rock and then sucked another rock as I jumped into planet Vanguard. The planet that is full of nothing but rocks. No wonder it was only inhabited by rocky people. At least that was what I knew, and those were the people I saw the last time I visited the place.

I landed on the ground but made sure I didn’t step on the lava. Then I turned at a corner as I saw two of the rocky people approaching. Allowing them to see me was something I wasn’t going to risk. One because I wasn’t supposed to be here without being called by their planet lord. And secondly, because I recently stole something from them and I’m still a fugitive.

I heard a space ship land and then people running toward it. Probably to see the intruder and kill him before he stole something or does something to their planet.

“You!” someone oozed behind me.

Shit.

I turned with my hands raise in the hair in surrender. Keeping my smile as I walked to him. Then I raised a hand to stop him from screaming at his friends. Ugly just landed and he would kill me if he was to find me here. I need to make sure I get somewhere where I can hide.

But the only way to get past this bastard was killing him or beat him to the point he will no longer have energy to call for backup.

Looking at him, I realized how impossible that seemed. He was made of stone, and here I was. A human with fresh. And other parts of him that seemed to be opened I saw lava like looking things passing through his body. I just swallowed loudly as put one hand behind.

“You stole for us a week ago, and we have been tracking you. Anyone that takes you to our lord will get a huge some of money,” he spoke with a delightful smile.

And I saw a gateway, “I can give you more than he told you. Just let me go and I will do the transfer right away,” I spoke as I dropped my hands and pressed my harm, bringing a screen in the air.

There was silence for a few heartbeats as he debated whether to take up my offer or just take me to his lord. But I knew how to play his game. I have done it before to get out of situations like this.

He then grabbed me, and a second from the other, we appeared inside some kind of room. What the hell just happened?

“I heard them coming our directions and I don’t and want to lose money,” he smiled at me. “So, I need triple what my lord has offered to give me.”

I looked at him studiously. “What is your lord offering to anyone that turns me in?”

“A hundred koob,” he smiled.

While I was expecting more, actually. But fate was in my favor once more. “I will give you four koobs if you show me a way out of this place without unnoticed. I’m sure by now they have realized I’m here, and that is why there is noise outside,” he nodded as he touched a white thing on his ear. An ear bud. “So, I can’t leave through the gateway. I need another way.”

He began pacing up and down as he stroked his chin. I was only tall enough to reach a bit lower under his armpit. Which made me realize fighting with him was a lost cause. And we will only cause noise and attract unwanted attentions.

Ugly and his planet wanted me in, and was the lord of planet Vanguard. They had a common goal. And they will work together until they find me. So, I was stranded until I allow him to help me and I pay him.

“I will take you there. But I need the money before I allow you out. You are the human we have all heard about. So, I aren’t taking any chances. Pay up.”

“Half, now. And half when we get to the door,” he nodded. “Then let’s go.”

“What are you doing?” he asked me as he saw me pressing on the screen that was still hooved in the air. “If that is something to doublecross me, I will make you pay myself before my lord had a chance,” he walked to me, looking down at me.

I felt small, and I just swallowed. I really needed people to help me if I stood a chance to survive this place. While the man that took me in was kind. Never allowed myself to do what I did. But he taught me just in case.

But he was leaving a life of none crime. Kept telling me to stop what I was doing that one say it will be my doom. But I need the money. And finding a job was as hard as hell here. So, I took up something that I was good at and will give me enough money to keep that old man alive.

“Just making sure you don’t do anything stupid after,” I told him and played a recording of him telling me was going to help at a fee. I smirked as he groaned on top of me. “Business…. What is your name?”

“Goo,” he spoke with anger in his voice. But that was none of my concern as long as he gets me out of this place.

“Goo. Not weird at all. Anyway, I don’t have time for talks. Just take me to this other door before they catch my scent. Do what you did to get us here,” I spoke.

He groaned again, but just stood there. “Seriously? You have trust issues.” I opened up my out and realized I have received enough money after stealing the diamond. I made the transaction and showed him.

But not until he made sure by seeing the money in his account did he touch me and we vanished.

A second from the other, we appeared on the other side of the planet. It looked empty. The ground cracked, like it was about to break. And lava was passing by. Making me believe the people of this planet were made and not conceived.

But that was none of my business.

Then he withdrew a gun behind him and then fired it into thin air. Here was a blast of light as it struck an invisible wall and then a ring formed. At the center was the outside of the planet.

Just as I took a step forward, he took a fist full of my armor. “Money human.” He spoke.

I just furrowed my brows and made the transaction. I just did that because I was expecting to get more after a sell the damn diamond. Because I was having ideas of doublecrossing him. And I blame my space father for this.

“If anything about me and you working together goes out because of loose lips. I will break you to pieces,” I warned, and he looked terrified for the first time I have been with him. And burn you into the lava,” I spoke and walked into the gateway.

Hoping I don’t get something else outside planet Vanguard.
