2... Super powers...

Alec had thought the sound that woke him up was an alarm, but now he knows it's something in his head. He thought maybe going back to sleep will help his current confusing situation, but he is very wrong.

He heard a ding sound and sat up on the bed, curious to know what the new sound is all about.

There were some things shown to Alec on the screen. He began to read quietly.

"Body: 15 (Weak)

Mind: 50 (Average)

Strength: 10 (Weak)

He laughed sarcastically when he was done reading.

"Really? I am that weak and you still chose me as your host? Oh, Come on, man!" He said amidst laughter "System or whatever the hell your name is..."

"You can name me whatever you like, host" The voice uttered.

"Will you stop talking so loud!" Alec grumbled "And if you want me to name you, then you should stop calling me 'host'. I'm sure as hell I wasn't named 'host' by my parents"

"Okay, Alexander Todd" The volume of the voice had gone a bit lower now. Alec was amazed at how the system obeyed him without questions, he knew at that moment that the system was real and not something he hallucinated. It's not something he imagined, or something in his dream.

"You are real" He whispered, chuckling softly.

"Yes, host"

The screen was erased to show new informations to Alec.

"Aims: Become a super human. Fight crimes.

Tasks: Train hard to unlock the next level of power.

Fight crimes to unlock the next level of power"

Alec laughed again "You are joking, right?"

"No. I am not joking"  The voice replied.

"Come on, I know you are joking"

"The system do not joke, Alexander Todd" It stated.

Alec sighed "This is crazy" he muttered to himself and reread what the screen showed to him.

"How do you expect me to fight crimes when I can't even defend myself from bullies at school? Trust me, the criminals are gonna beat the shit outa me"

"It is not designed to have your whole superpowers given to you at once"

"Are you saying I get some powers as time goes on?" He questioned, rubbing his head.

"Yes. That is the reason the tasks were set for you"

"Do I have any superpowers at the moment?" Alec asked, eager to get an answer.

"Yes"

Alec rose his brows "I do?"

"Yes. Super strength"

The word showed on the screen after the system uttered it. Right beside the word is a padlock sign.

Alec blinked repeatedly in disbelief "Super strength? Does that mean I can fight anyone right now?"

"No, you can't. Your strength is not to be misused"

Alec nodded "About the padlock..." He paused when he heard heavy footsteps which meant someone was coming into the room.

He shone his eyes at the screen, scared someone might see it. He stretched his hand foward to tap the screen, hoping a tap will make it disappear, but instead his hand went through it.

"Fuck!" He cursed under his breath. "How does this work? Someone's gonna see it, I have to turn it off"

"No one except you can see the screen" The system assured

"Are you sure? Because if someone sees it and calls me crazy, I swear to fucking..." He stopped when someone entered the room, then he met another surprise. The guy that entered is the the same guy that saved him from Sam and Kevin at the hallway.

Alec pointed a finger to him "You?"

He smiled."Yeah, me. You're finally awake"

"What are you doing here?" Alec queried. "Is this your house? You live here?"

The guy chuckled "No. This is like a company, and I work here"

Alec gave the room a quick scan.

"I'm Jeremy by the way" He stretched foward his hand for a handshake which Alec was reluctant to take.

"I saw you laying unconscious on the ground and brought you to one of the rooms here" Jeremy explained briefly.

Alec smiled "Oh. Thank you" After about two seconds, he asked "You really work here?"

Jeremy grinned "Yeah, with the systems"

Alec widened his eyes "The system?"

Jeremy gave him a weird look "Yeah?  The computer systems"

Alec exhaled relievedly "Oh, I just thought..." He trailed off.

"You act weird sometimes, you know" Jeremy remarked.

Alec gave a fake smile.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked with concern written all over his face.

Alec glanced at the screen, and back at Jeremy. The system is right, he's the only one that can see the screen.

"I feel better" He replied with a smile.

"You should. You were asleep for forty nine hours"

Alec grinned, thinking Jeremy was joking, but when he saw the seriousness in his eyes, he shone his eyes.

"Forty what?!" He exclaimed.

***

Jeremy showed Alec the different offices and rooms at where he works. Jeremy works with his partner to deal with the computer systems which helps to oversee what happens in the city.

Jeremy looks like one from a rich family and talks like one with smart brains. What makes him different from the other guys in Alec's school is that he doesn't misuse his powers. He has the power of the brain, of money and a little bit of strength, but he doesn't torture other people with those powers.

"Was I really asleep for forty nine hours?" Alec asked Jeremy, walking side by side with him. He is still finding it hard to believe he slept that long.

Jeremy simpered "When your vitals were checked during your unconscious state, they weren't normal, but after few hours, we checked again"

Alec stared attentively at Jeremy "Then what happened?" He asked curiously.

Jeremy creased his brows "They were okay, but you looked dead even after the medical treatments"

Alec frowned, while Jeremy continued.

"We stopped the medical treatments and assumed you were only asleep, then you were transferred to an old room which has not being used in years" Jeremy explained.

Alec furrowed his brows "Really?"

"Yeah" Jeremy replied, and smiled at a blonde. "This is Heidi" He introduced his partner to Alec.

Alec stared at her, studying her. She looked very familiar but he can't just point out the exact place he met her.
