The supremes

Aurora pov

I walked into the house and searched for my father with my eyes, but he wasn't in the living room. The empty room created a space in my heart. If only my mother was alive, she would have been happy.

Father told me that mother has always wanted to be a councillor but she was a freedite and it was impossible. I remembered the day my father told me about my mother. I had no memory of her and only know how she looks like through the pendant she gave me.

That night when dad and I were watching a movie, I had asked dad why we freedites were called evil. Why we were called miscreants. He told me the freedites had all the talent and were special born people. The other groups were angry at that and saw them as threats. They brought the proposal to the supreme lords and it was approved. The freedites were known as villains. Even a new born child.

I picked my shoe and headed towards my room but stop when father came out of his room. He smiled at me but I sense it was a forced smile. He was hiding something.

"You are back. How was the test?"

"It was fine. I am a lawyer now." I said smiling widely.

"Lawyer? I am proud of you darling." he said and headed for the kitchen.

Something was wrong with father. He was sad about it and that made me worried. I dropped my shoes and went to the kitchen.

"Father is there something wrong?" I asked, watching him with bewilderment as he cleaned his face. Father was crying..... What happened to him.

"Nothing dear, just had something in my eyes."

I walked closer to him and leaned by the wall, looking at his face which he was trying so hard to hide from me.

"Something is wrong. I know you father."

He looked at me and sighed, "Nineteen years ago today, I met your mother. It was her chosen day. The day she dreamt of all her life. But she was detected a freedite and had to run. If she was here with us, she will be so happy. Her daughter is a lawyer. Her daughter is now about to fulfill her dream."

I smiled and placed my hand on his shoulder, "I have always wanted to see mother and I know she is so precious. She will be proud of me. Where ever she is right now, she would be sad to see you this way when you should be happy."

He nodded and forced out a smile, "You are right. I let my emotions get the better of me. We need to have a party, my baby is now a lawyer." he wiped his tears and hugged me tight. "You made me a proud father today."

He patted my shoulder and smiled again, "Your friends were here earlier. You should go meet them when you freshen up."

"Definitely." I said and left the kitchen for my room.

AUTHOR'S POV

....

Far away from the main city, a white big mansion was on a hill. The only place no one goes to expect when invited or called in. The only place, feared by the people.THE SUPREME LORDS territory.

In a big room were ten men seated round a table dressed elegantly, with each of them having a glass of red wine before them. The young men ages were between the range of twenty one to twenty seven.

The men were the most handsome men in Sirenna, as that was the custom of the land. To be qualified to be a supreme lord, being attractive is one of the qualities they search for in the candidates chosen for the throne.

The ten men were the dreams of the ladies but they are bound by one law, they are not allowed to fall in love. The people are not meant to see the supreme lords or it cost there heads, making the men not to have access to the outer world and only rule from their territory.

The door to the room opened and the president of Sirenna walked in with her head bowed, not daring to look at the supreme lords. The president is the only person allowed to see the supremes freely in Sirenna.

"The supreme lords asked for my presence and here I am....... What can I do for you my lords?" she asked still with her head bowed and her hands placed on each other on her stomach.

The third supreme lord, Alpha, tapped his hand on the table and leaned backwards. "The after party of the chosen day is coming up soon, how well are you preparing for it?"

"More than expected sir, this year party will be the most memorable." she replied with a smile on her face.

Juanita have been the president of Sirenna ever since she was twenty three and have learnt a lot of things. Smiling have become part of her as leading have to do with a lot of patience. When she was chosen as the president, she thought it was going to be so easy so she happily accepted and lost a lot of relationship with her close ones. It was so devastating that she thought of killing herself but that will only make her a loser. She had no choice but to keep moving no matter how depressed she was and now, she knows the best way to lead the people.

The best way is a lot of patience and self control, she learnt that the hard way.

The supremes are no one to mess with, but she learnt how to maintain a relationship with them. Being a young girl as the president of a million of people was a lot to take in.

"The party will be filled with important people only as it has always being and your identity will be secured. Everything is almost ready and will be done before the day of the party."

"It should be perfect, just the way we like it." The fifth supremo, Abel said.

"Yes my lords." she answered and left the room without lifting her head up.
