Chapter 2: Elevator

Chapter 2: Elevator

“What the hell, it's real!”

Jace exclaimed in a panicked voice, finally realizing what was happening.

Wendy shambled forward, blood drooling from her mangled lips.

Grey grabbed his chair and climbed the table, before leaping over to Jace side and hitting the chair on Greta's face, which sending her backwards.

She charged once again, but Grey used the chair to push her backward.

He slammed the chair in her face, her body fell to the ground. Grey then began to ram the chair down continuously. With a final hit, Grey heard a crunch, which came from the zombies' skull.

Wendy was dead. He had killed her.

“No,” Grey shook his head. “Not her, it.”

Wendy was nothing human, in fact, she was more dead than alive.

More zombies were approaching them with the rest of them hunting down the human among them.

Wendy wasn't the only one infected. About 70% of them had turned into zombies, and they were all biting at chewing at those unturned.

Jace was shocked by this, but Grey gripped his shoulder firmly.

“Jace, we have to move!”

He informed, which snapped Jace out of his stupor.

“We are going to have to fight our way out. Grab anything you can use as a weapon.”

“Huh fight? Weapon?” Jace said in a daze.

“Just grab anything you can use to keep the zombie away from you!”

Grey grabbed the chair beside him, while Jace grabbed a keyboard and held it over his head.

“Seriously!” Grey said.

“What…theres nothing else, dude.”

Ruar!

A zombie grunted charging at Grey, but Grey swung his chair which hit the zombie, sending it over a cubicle. Not losing momentum, he kicked the next one, who fell unto the other. One charged from his side and before Grey could block which his chair it had slammed unto him. Grey fell to the ground, the Zombie over him.

It scratched and bite the chair was the only thing keeping the zombie from him.

Not good.

He summoned his strength and pushed the zombie backwards. He hurriedly stood, to zombie attack once again, but he body swayed to the side, dodging it, and he bash the zombie's head from behind. The chair broke and the rest of it was thrown at the three approaching zombies.

He smashed his knee on the first one ribs, grabbed it's by the hair and slammed its face repeatedly on the edge of his desk, sending them flying. He grabbed the computer and slammed it on their head.

He took a keyboard and hit the last one chin, sending the key pads flying.

He turned toward jace who was held by a zombie.

Grey pulled it back by the shirt backwards, took a chair and swung it with so much force it shattered. The zombie fell to the ground, it's neck twisted abnormally.

Grey panted wildly, adrenaline coursing through his veins. That was insane, he had never experienced such a feeling in his life. He almost enjoyed it.

He looks at the zombies whose body were still twitching. Even with that, it wasn't dead.

“Tenacious bastard.” Jace said in a shrill voice, his chest visibly heaving.

They were still two zombies in the office feasting on their prey. Grey deemed it too late to save them and turned away.

“Lets move!”

Grey said and the headed towards the exist and Jace followed. Running down the hall, their gazes turned towards the offices, and they saw the same scenes were taking place in the offices on that floor. A zombie saw some humans running down the hall through and pursued.

Grey ran toward the stairs, but Jace voice stopped him.

“Wait!”

“ What are you doing, let's move.”

Jace stood in front of the elevator and pointed. “Why not use the elevator.”

“No don't!” Grey yelled, but it was too late. Jace hand was already on the button.

Shit?

Elevator? If they entered and landed on a floor filled with zombies, they would be swarmed immediately and would have to fight in an enclosed space. Even worse, if the elevator arrived, and they were zombies already inside they were f*cked.

“Shit!”

Grey cursed as he ran to meet jace but a zombie charged from the side. Grey stepped back, and the zombie ran into the wall.

Ping

The elevator arrived and the metal door opened.

*Growl

The zombie announced their arrival. One scratched at Jace face, which caused him to fall backwards. It then pounced on him, but Jace reacted fast and rolled to the side away from the threat. The rest of the zombies walked out of the elevator.

And when Jace stood, he found he had rolled away from Jace.

Now the path between him and Grey was blocked.

“ Ah Shit!"
