Chapter 10: The return of Kendra!!!

Days have passed by quickly in the beast nation and the tension caused by the air nation has built momentum to a point where some desperate beast nation members had gathered in seclusion around the quarters where Dice, Lancelot, and Cherry stayed.

High Chief Goro had already seen through this possibility and assigned some of the most lethal guards in the beast nation kingdom to guard their quarters.

Lancelot had told Chief Goro not to worry, that he could handle anyone who came to look for trouble, but high Chief Goro had refused to take away the guarding patrol around their abode.

Lennon and his gang had halted their plans due to this, waiting for a better opportunity to make their move.

On a bright and cloudy afternoon, a strange cloud formed in the sky above the beast nation, and droplets of water fell from this strange cloud, but what was more shocking was that before the droplets reached the ground, they coalesced and formed a crystal that had the pure green emerald quality of an emerald gemstone.

While all these were happening, one of the patrolling beast nation members, tasked with reporting strange activities to Chief Goro, stood in place.

He had the antenna and head of a snail and the body of a man, his back had a slightly elevated shell that makes him look like he has a hunched back.

The snail man moved slowly, picked up the crystal, and started moving in the direction of Chief Goro's quarters.

A few minutes later, the snail man arrived in front of the entrance door of Chief Goro's gigantic residence,

"Chief Goro, Sir... "

Before he could complete it, Chief Goro rushed out and said with a shocked expression;

"The water nation's communication crystal!!!"

'Where did this guy come from just now?

The snail man thought to himself before handing the crystal over to Chief Goro.

Chief Goro took it like he was handling a precious jewel worth a million elemental gold coins.

The water nation's communication crystal is a device that could only be created by Chief Priestess Kendra.

The reason why only she could make it among those presently known in the water nation was because of the high level of power and skill needed to create it.

The communication crystal can communicate across dimensions, it is mostly sent via the cloud to any location, able to project the image of any being in a hologram-like projection.

Chief Priestess Kendra was an ancient elemental of the water tribe that was so powerful that at a point within the last two thousand years, she shocked the world with her challenge of the air nation, a huge population of the air nation soldiers were killed by her.

The monstrous decimation of the air nation soldiers became a widespread legend known as the; 'legend of Kendra', but after fighting for so long, suddenly she disappeared without a trace and was never heard of again.

Later on, the air nation powerhouses claimed to have killed her, years later.

Thus, the sudden reappearance of the crystal signified her possible return.

The activation of the crystal was done by dipping the crystal in a pool of water like a lake, pond, or oasis.

The High Chief took the crystal to a pond within

his quarters containing the fishes he bred and dipped it in as he furrowed his brows.

Nothing happened immediately but after a while, the crystal dispersed into the pond, and a holographic column of water shot out of the pond and hesitated.

This extended to form a hand and a face, and other parts started forming.

The woman that finally formed, looked so real as if she were standing right there.

Chief Goro moved to touch the woman standing in front of him but his hands just passed through the hologram making it flicker.

The woman had silvery-white hair, she had a beautiful visage that supported her small nose, although she has the look of a pretty woman in her early fifties, Goro wasn't fooled, he knows she has lived for at least two millennia so he gave a respectful bow.

Her elemental level had reached such a high level that it was unknown what exactly her elemental level was, but many believed she had exceeded the 4th level but none could confirm or reject the claim, so the record of the highest level of any Elementalist being at 4th level remained an unchallenged record.

"Priestess Kendra, it has been so long, I feared you were dead. The world has not heard from you in centuries." Chief Goro initiated a conversation.

Kendra smiled, and replied, "It is nice to meet you Goro, you're a chief now, that is impressive, you've always been a responsible beast-man".

Kendra then changed her facial expression to a serious one, as she continued to speak,

"I had been cut in the throat by Paige Kalliester during the war with the air nation, 400 years ago, my body never decayed and my spirit kept wandering, this continued until recently when somebody or something, touched the ground"

"This connected all nations and released all the knowledge of the world, except for a few hidden ones, this strong connection, pulled my spirit back into my body and healed my wound. I woke up like I had not been harmed at all."

Kendra explained how she got back as she looked around with a building passion.

"1 traced that being to the beast nation" she finished before keeping quiet and looking to Chief Goro for answers.

Deep in Chief Goro's heart, he couldn't tell why he thought it was Lancelot but he just believed it was him and he said it out before he took the thought deeper, "Lancelot!"

Kendra waited for an additional statement from chief Goro but when none came she asked in confusion

"Who is Lancelot?"

Chief Goro was quiet for a bit before he responded,

"He is the chosen one!... you know how nobody has been able to enter the beast nation land, because of the land test..." Chief Goro went on to explain all the events he had witnessed and how formidable Lancelot was including all his deeds in the beast nation.

Kendra's facial expression kept alternating from a wide smile to a frown, to a slightly inquisitive one.

She had been holding on to, an important piece of the prophecy and had even tried to pass on the responsibility before she was killed, now that she has a new lease on life and knew that there is a possibility that the one spoken of in prophecy has been being finally found, she don't delay any longer.

"Please I need to speak to him, there is a ritual he needs to perform in the water nation land, tell him to come over immediately to the water nation" She finished speaking, then she walked closer to High Chief Goro and her face had a stern expression,

"l know how greedy you beast-men are, you must protect him from the greed of your people  he has the potential to be extremely powerful or even unrivaled, however, his life can be cut short before he reaches that level, make sure you protect him." Having said that she turned back into water and flowed back into the pond ending the hologram's transmission.
