Chapter 11
I woke up to the sun streaming into the windows. Blinking and covering my eyes against the sun, I looked around the room. Trying to orient myself, the memories of all yesterday and last night came over me and I blushed hard. I had passed out mid-sex. I pulled my knees up and buried my red face in them. 'To be fair, you passed out during round five. Not bad.' Kai winked and I pushed her to the back of my mind. The last thing I needed was her giving me sass about what happened last night. Controlling my heart, I knew Logan wasn’t in the room when I woke up. His side of the bed was still warm, so it hadn’t been long since he had gotten up. Gingerly, I got off the bed and put weight on my legs. The soreness wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought. Pushing Kai back meant that I would just have to feel around for the door. Walking slowly, I felt the door next to his dresser, remembering that it was the bathroom door. I was still naked and so I just turned on the

Chapter 12
I heard Bryan’s warning but I didn’t move. I held Logan, my body covering his back and my arms wrapping around his neck. “It’s okay Logan, it’s okay.” I whispered into his ears, my eyes shut against the onslaught of emotions. “You took me away from there. I’m here with you now. That’s all that matters.” His hand came up, holding onto my arms and his shaking lessened. “There we go. Come back to us, Logan. I’m okay.” I cooed, nuzzling my face in the crook of his neck. “Auri.” I heard him breathe out in between his deep breaths. I nodded, happy that the emotions I was just drowning in were allowing me to breathe again. Logan sat up a little bit and leaned his head against mine. Bryan whistled and we both looked over at him. “No one has been able to stop him from shifting when he gets that mad. At first, I didn’t know if you were brave or stupid but then it worked. Damn.” Bryan picked up his spatula and tossed the pancake that he had left

Chapter 13
'Kai, what should we do?' 'What do you mean what should we do? We go help our pack. This is our home now, if we are going to protect anything, it’s going to be here.' I agreed with her, but I was worried about what Logan and Bryan would think. 'You’re the one who omitted the details about The Huntress.' Kai pointed out, a hint of annoyance in her tone. 'It’s already a lot to take in. Plus, I’ve retired.' 'Retired but not dead.' Bryan was still frozen in place. He was probably giving directions, being the Beta and with Logan gone to work. I didn’t wait for him though. I turned towards the smell and ran as fast as my paws would take me. We finally picked up the trail and headed north, further into pack territory. 'We can’t let them get further in, Kai.' 'I know!' Kai pushed harder and she followed after the three distinct smells. There were only t

Logan didn’t come out of his office for the rest of the day. Bryan and I made lunch which he tried to share with Logan. Only to be kicked out of the office immediately. Bryan had to hold me back as I wanted to march my ass up there and tell him to be nice. But Bryan insisted Logan needed some time. “He’s lost a lot of family, Luna. He’s just over-protective. When I told him you chased after the rogues, I’m sure he thought he might lose you.” I rolled my eyes. “A couple of rogues can’t take me down.” “Yeah but your scars…”Bryan trailed off. “I got them when I was four. I’ve had them my whole life. I’m not weak. If anything, I might even be able to beat Logan.” I mused. Bryan laughed. “I’d like to see that Luna.” He gave me a full tour of the mansion that was the packhouse. There were so many rooms, it made my head spin. A private theater, indoor pool, gaming rooms, multiple offices and meetings rooms with an extensive amount of bedrooms

Chapter 15
I woke up in one of the guest beds next to Logan’s room. It felt awkward to sleep in his bed. Not knowing if he was going to come home in the middle of the night. Not knowing if he wanted me in his bed at all. So I had chosen to sleep in the guest bedroom next door. One thing Logan had not gotten me was pajamas. So I was wearing his shirt and boxers again.  Opening the door to his room quietly, I looked in to see an empty bed. Kai whined for our mate but I was relieved. I still didn’t want to face him. I got dressed in some shorts and a tank top, braiding my hair over my right shoulder. Walking down the hallway and down the stairs, I was the first awake it seemed. Bryan’s morning clanging was missing as I made some tea for myself. I had pushed Kai back after her whining and just reveled in the sounds of the house. Taking my tea, I walked out the kitchen door and stood a little ways away, my toes wiggling between the gra

Chapter 16
“Cub?” I looked upon from the book I was reading. I had settled myself in my favorite window, curled up with one of the many books in Morgan’s library. Kai and I had been having a serious discussion about the main character being an idiot when Morgan had come in. “Maybe you should talk to him.” My eyes narrowed as I watched him walk over to me. After I had told Morgan what had happened, and my fears about the whole situation, he had dropped the subject. He knew I would be dealing with it in my own way and never one to pry. Which is why it made this all the more surprising. He sat down on the sill with me and took my hand from the book and held it. “They’ve been showing up every night at the entrance. Asking to speak with you.” Morgan squeezed my hand. I looked down at the book in my lap and chewed on my lip. Morgan put his hand under my chin and made me look up at him. At my request, he was keeping them out of the club.Read more
Chapter 17
***Logan’s POV***   When I had pulled up to the packhouse at 10 am it was quiet. I knew I fucked up yesterday. The moment I let the words slip out of my mouth. The moment I felt the utter despair through the mate bond, I knew I fucked up. I had kicked my desk in half, threw my chair at the bookshelf before ripping the door off its hinges. Bryan didn’t try to stop me. He just watched as I grabbed my jacket and left. I knew he heard what I had said and he was pissed at me as well. But I already felt like enough of an asshole, I didn’t need him to tell me that. I took the Jeep and drove. I just drove and ended up in one of the cities that bordered my territories. After drinking most of the night, I had actually passed out in the back seat of the Jeep. Apparently, I had driven my drunk ass out into the forest where I just laid down and fell asleep. When I woke up, I had a hammering headache and was two hours away from the packhouse. I couldn’t believ

Chapter 18
I was in the passenger seat and Bryan was driving. The windows were rolled down and my arm was hanging out. We had taken the Jeep just in case I managed to pick up her scent. At this point though, we were four hours into the drive and I hadn’t even picked up a whiff of her. The patrol also was checking in but said she had left the territory a couple hours ago. “I can’t believe she’s that fucking fast.” Bryan mused as he wove through traffic. “She’s the damn wind.” “It just means we might catch up with her in the city.” I looked out the window. “If she makes it that far.” There was a silence for a while. Most of the ride had been. Bryan was still fairly mad at me and even literally kicked me into the passenger seat. He had the radio on for a bit but after hour two, they started to play the same songs and he turned it down. I just focused my eyes out the window. “I got to hear her sing.” My eyes snapped to him, he was looking ahead, both hands o

Chapter 19
I was leaning against a tree, waiting for Bryan to come down the road. I was exhausted and so was Cato. I felt myself hanging on by a thread. The snapping and pull of the mate bond had only gotten worse. Especially when Cato had finally picked up her scent in the early morning hours. We looped around and followed it. It stopped at a payphone about an hour from where Bryan had dropped me off. But then the scent just disappeared. I figured she had used the payphone to call a ride and the scent disappearing into the vehicle. I was frustrated enough to destroy the payphone but I had looped back around. I looked at my watch and rubbed my eyebrows. Bryan was taking his sweet ass time. It was already 9am and I had called him an hour ago to pick me up. I could feel the darkness under my eyes imbed itself deeper and I just wanted to sleep. It wasn’t until another half hour passed before I heard the Jeep come down the road, turning off the road. The front door slammed shut and

I slept restlessly. Either I was wake, feeling the twinge of the mate bond or the feeling of being alone or dreaming of her. Dreaming of reaching out to her as she left out my door but she was always just out of reach. Bryan and Hector took turns watching me. When I woke up from the last time, both of them were dressed up. “Alpha, we can go without you if it would be easier.” I shook my head and sat up. Rubbing my eyes, I stood up. Went to bathroom and splashed water on my face. I looked like shit. Getting dressed, I took a deep breath. Weakness had crept into me and I felt as if I had aged twenty years, feeling as though my arms carried 50 extra pounds as I lifted them to button the cuffs of my shirt. We pulled up to the club just after 9pm. We were a little late this time. The bouncer in front wasn’t leaning against the podium but was standing holding the list. His eyebrow raised up he watched the three of us walk up.&nbs
