Ren Carter, a struggling medical intern, is framed for murder after stumbling upon a trade secret that could annihilate the entire human race.
He survives an explosion designed to take him out in prison. And, a few weeks later, he returns alive and totally transformed. The transformation is nothing ordinary. Two entities awake in one body. A fiery dragon spirit seeking revenge. A guardian spirit seeking justice.
When Ren discovers the hand of evil human forces involved in his sister's death, he stops at nothing to make them pay. He would collect every blood debt.
But there's an art to fighting. Prices to pay for the power he gains with each victory. An ancient prophecy on his tail.
Evil is taking the lead, and it's threatening to take from him again.
Does he fight on the side of evil and save the one that heals his soul? Or fight for good and lose his soul?
The battle begins.

Chapter: 110: Blood Of The Assassin
“And who might you be, sir?” Ren asked the question in the most innocent voice. But it did not fail to rile up the general more than he already was. “Are you testing my patience on purpose?” he snarled. “First, you don't tell me if it's you who has my daughter or not. Second, you're pretending to not know who I am.” He scoffed and stopped a few inches away from Ren, towering like a giant. “You might want to stop pulling your little games now, boy.”“I'm not pulling any games. I don't know who you are.” Ren could hear the whispers behind him about the man's status, but it did not mean he knew who the man was. “How am I supposed to know who your daughter is?” The man straightened and lifted his shoulders with the pride he was used to. “I’m Takayoshi Miura, Four-star general of the Tokyo Defense Command. My sources tell me my daughter was last seen in these premises yesterday.”“And who is your daughter, sir?” As soon as the question left his mouth, a possible answer popped into his he

Chapter: 109: Four-Star General Miura
Ren did not have the time to think or worry about what the dragon spirit had just said in his head. Because the assassin might just slice half his face off any second now. He kicked his leg out and struck the assassin's shin. That got him released a bit from the man’s grip, and he scrambled backwards and bolted for the mirror, where he had left the candle. The assassin recovered in no distant time and as he ran towards Ren, Hiro jumped in and tripped him. The assassin fell over his face, and Hiro finally dug the blade out of his palm diving for the man. But the assassin was fast and unpredictable. He pulled out a knife and struck the hilt into the side of Hiro’s face. Hiro yelled in agony but did not relent. As both men rolled over each other in a fight, Amaya kept screaming in panic. Meanwhile, Ren found the candle lying by the table as soon as he got there. He picked it up and rummaged through the drawer for a matchbox, while looking over his shoulder every now and then to see

Chapter: 108: Assassination Scheme
“What do you mean? She's Yoshi's fiancée?” Ren jumped away from Amaya as quickly as he could, unable to believe his ears. How could it be? He wanted to ask. The last time he checked, Yoshi and Amaya weren't even on speaking terms. “You want to pretend you didn't know that before putting your hands on her?!” Mizuki yelled. “Enough,” Hiro chided quietly, his eyes taking in Amaya’s form on the bed. “He seems to have stopped the bleeding.” Mizuki blinked in surprise. “She was bleeding?” She hurried to the bed and examined Amaya closely. “Are you okay?” The young woman smiled awkwardly as she could not understand the sudden change in behavior, nor could she understand how it had slipped out that she was engaged to Yoshi Carter. Hiro walked up to his nephew, his eyes hard and jaw ticking. “Did someone really shoot into my house or that was something else?” Ren looked around the room and started towards the window. “I think it was a sniper.” Hiro followed. “What? Why wou

Chapter: 107: New Host Power
The pandemonium and scampering about that became the order of the wake was unnecessary…because the shot didn't come from within the mansion. It came from a hidden place, outside. Probably a sniper’s shot, because no one saw or heard it coming. They just saw Amaya drop to the ground with a gasp and dispersed in pandemonium.Ren confirmed this just after he dodged another bullet which he somehow heard coming. He ran up the stairs with Amaya gathered in his arms, confused and disoriented.“Everyone, take cover!” Hiro Carter yelled in a voice thick with agitation. Mizuki wept hard where she was hidden beneath an oak table. She wept about her dead son…wept about the choices she'd made in her life that brought her to where she was. After a while, no more shots were silently fired. No more bodies dropped in shock, bleeding. Meanwhile, Amaya still bled out in Ren’s arms as he raced to safety, her eyes tearing over. “Stay with me.” Ren kicked open the door to the room he used to occupy when

Chapter: 106: Do You Feel My Pain?
“My sister might have told me a thing or two about how you used to treat her back when she lived with you and uncle Hiro.”Mizuki Carter stared at Ren for a long moment, expression unreadable. If she was guilty, she didn't give anything away. If she was innocent, still nothing.“Don't you mean, your late sister?” she demanded in a cold voice. The reminder stung Ren, but not as much as the hint of triumph and satisfaction he found in her voice. Before Ren could help himself, he crossed over and snatched her wrist in a death grip that had Mizuki crying out in pain. “Tell me everything you did to her, down to the last truth. And I might just try to forgive you.” Mizuki threw her head back and laughed hard, drawing attention from nearby. “Look at you insolent rat,” she spat. “Have you lost your mind?!”Ren held on tighter as she struggled to break free. “I'm giving you a chance to forgive you, Aunt Mizuki. You don't know what it's like when I'm unforgiving.”She scoffed, eyes rimming ov

Chapter: 105: Whispers Of The Past
The steel black gates of Hiro Carter’s mansion loomed like a great hall of doom on this particular morning.. Ren stood before the same gates he used to look forward to seeing, rethinking his decision about coming over, and attending his cousin’s wake. Hiro paused and turned around when he realized that his nephew had stopped following him. “What are you doing?” “Go ahead, uncle,” Ren said in a quiet voice. “I've come all the way here. Surely, I wouldn't turn around now.” “Who knows?” Hiro countered in a bitter, broken voice. “I can no longer tell with you, my boy.” Ren winced at the bitter ring of the endearing term that used to carry an emotional weight before a lot of things changed. He itched to remind his uncle that he was no longer his boy, but he kept shut out of respect for what the day represented for his dead cousin. After a moment of trying to persuade him to go in with him, Hiro eventually left Ren alone. After long moments of standing there, fighting an emotional
