Chapter 220: Salvation
The golden flames burst out of the gold coloured vein closest to Kyle’s hand. He felt a sting on the back of his hand before it went numb completely for a few seconds. A golden marking appeared on his skin, glowing golden just like the embers within the Evertree.‘Independent Action: Link Activated’Immediately, he felt his draining life force restored. The green dome that had formed around the entire plateau began to gain a golden hue as the Evertree’s power filled him, replacing his lost life force with its own.His eyes hurt as the tree shaped mark on the back of his hand glowed.“Well…” Vis pursed her lips. “I guess this is an acceptable solution.”“Shut up.” Kyle grunted as he covered his eyes. Everything was so bright – the golden hue of the Evertree seemed to cover the plateau in its entirety.“You’re mean.” Vis commented with a

Chapter 221: Beneath the Dome
“We need to deal with the siege somehow.” Kyle stated the obvious. Irena, Droigheann, Vis, and a couple dozen elves and dwarves had gathered in the grand hall of the Cathedral. Their gazes were focused on the young summoner. They listened to his words intently, and everyone except his two summons and Vis nodded when he was done speaking.“Does anyone have the ability to reach that far with spells?” Kyle asked with little hope. A few seconds of silence passed, then the elves and dwarves shook their heads. Kyle’s shoulders dropped, though he expected this response already.“I see. Then, those of you who can, should check the damage that’s been dealt before I was able to raise the barrier.” He gestured out the window, towards the green barrier with a golden hue. “Make sure there are no wounded, the rest of us will figure out a way to deal with this siege.”Once Kyle had finished his words, the crowds scatt

Chapter 222: The Dome Holds
Kyle pressed his lips together. That… sounded like a horrible scenario. Being stuck under the spell’s protective dome for who knows how long certainly wasn’t a welcome thought.“I’d rather not have to resort to that.” Kyle admitted. “Besides, what if they find a way to get past the barrier? Necron did fall after all – perhaps there was a weakness in their spells.”Droigheann scoffed. “If those puny humans can do that, then I’m no demon.”Irena nodded vigorously. “I doubt anyone within that group would have the knowledge or skills to do such a thing.”Vis remained silent. Her gaze was fixed on the barrier, the dome covering the entirety of the plateau, all the branches of the evertree. It lit up every once in a while as the siege continued, and so did the attacks. Kyle let out a sigh. “Still, we have much to do, and being stuck here isn’t going to help. Besides

Chapter 223: A Plan Unfolds
Both the ancient vampire, and the Priestess of the Golden Flame flinched upon hearing Kyle’s footsteps. Their hostile gazes ceased as they both moved away from the marble altar to opposite sides of the grand hall.“Summoner, good morning.” Irena quickly said, clearly trying to hide the rather intriguing conversation they were having just a moment ago. “The shield holds, and the elves and dwarves have finished the repairs on the cathedral.”Kyle nodded. They were working fast. Too fast. “Good,” He sat on the pew nearest to the altar. “Did either of you come up with any ideas on how to get rid of this siege?”Vis let out a sigh. “Just wait it out, Kyle.” She paced the room. “Your precious plateau and the people living on it are safe under Necron’s dome. The humans attacking you will eventually give up and leave. Either that, or they will run out of supplies, and be forced to leave.&rdquo

Chapter 224: Wings of Bone
“A lucky fool, he said, huh?” Vis asked with a smile as they stood by the pond. “I’m not quite so sure if I’d call you that.”Kyle let out a sigh. “Why are you still here anyways?” He asked, annoyed. He had hoped Vis would also leave along with the others, but the ancient vampire seemed to like this place a tad bit too much.“A prime viewing of a battle was promised to me,” She said with an innocent smile. “I wouldn’t dare miss it.” She pointed at the still surface of the pond. “They’ll reach the camp soon.”Kyle gulped. She wasn’t wrong. Droigheann had promised Kyle would be able to watch the battle, and he had cast a spell on this pond. A spell to let one of Cacophus’ skeletal birds to act as Kyle’s eyes.As the sun began to set, the surface of the pond rippled. A few moments passed before an image slowly formed on the water&rs

Chapter 225: A Threat, Lurking Close
The water of the pond was icy cold, and it was still filled with Droigheann’s mana. The dark strands of demonic magic enveloped him as soon as he fell into the water. His body grew numb for a short moment, and his vision blurred and darkened. He looked around in a panic as he tried to tell up from down. Which way was he supposed to swim?!He breathed out a few bubbles full of air. They moved towards his left hand! He quickly followed them, and soon reached the surface. As soon as his head broke the surface of the water, a shout reached his ears.“No, no don’t!” A man’s scream echoed, followed by a snap, and a crack.‘Player Killed’ Kyle’s gaze snapped to the source of the screams, only to see Vis standing next to the now dead body of a player as it disintegrated.“Filthy bastards.” Vis hissed. She let go of her oddly red whip, and it immediately liquified, and flow

Chapter 226: White
Kyle locked his door, then walked around his room, checking every nook and cranny. As he looked under the bed and found nothing but a paid of boots he had kicked down there, he breathed a sigh of relief. The young man finally let himself relax. He changed into comfortable pyjamas, then crawled into the bed. He then held his breath for a good five seconds, and only when he made sure there was no one but him in the room did he breathe a sigh of relief and pulled the blanket to his chin.Droigheann had to practically drag Vis out of Kyle’s room. Irena had then taken her to a room she could call her own. Kyle was still hoping that she’s grow bored of this place and go back to her home. Maybe she would be gone when he woke up.With little hope in his heart, he closed his eyes, and let his consciousness drift away. Come morning, the chirping birds woke him up. After his usual morning routine of breakfast and getting dressed, Kyle heade

Chapter 227: The Paladin's Worries
Luke narrowed his eyes a little. He glared at Kyle for a few seconds, then turned his gaze to Igna. “Igna, why don’t you check out the potions I mentioned to you?”Igna’s eyes shot wide open. “Oh, yeah!” She exclaimed. “Kyle! Do you mind if I check them out myself?”Kyle shook his head. “Not at all, they’re in the tower.” He pointed at the tower next to the courtyard. “Check the box next to the door.”“Alright, I’ll be right back then!” Igna’s voice was filled with excitement. She hurried inside without waiting for a response. Once the wooden door closed behind her, Luke scowled. He folded his arms and glared at Kyle again.“Why don’t you try explaining that hair of yours again?” He suggested. “Tell the truth this time, though.” He added.Kyle flinched. Was his lie so obvious? “Is it that unbelievable?” He

Chapter 228: Not Enough Time
The Paladin glared at Kyle. “Well?”The young summoner let out a tired sigh. “Do I really need to explain why I haven’t slept well?” he asked, rolling his eyes. “It’s just bad dreams, nothing more.”It was the next day, and Luke had dropped by again to take some of the healing potions to the auction.“Yes, you do need to explain.” Luke said with a serious tone. “Now explain. Caille says dreams are nothing to be ignored.”Kyle let out a sigh. “You seriously do worry too much.” He whined.“So what? Explain.” The Paladin simply wouldn’t budge.Kyle shook his head. “It’s just a dream about the damn angel.” He threw his hands in the air, then explained the dream he’d seen briefly. “This isn’t something to worry about, it’s Rhealis’ dreams that I worry about.”Luke scowled. “I don&

Chapter 229: Harsh Words
“Shards of Light!” Kyle’s voice rose as their enemy moved slowly. Five shards of crystallised light formed at the tip of his fingers, then darted towards the large creature. The shards easily hit the rock body of the elemental, not even causing it to flinch. It didn’t even seem to be aware of Kyle’s attack – it just creeped closer, slowly, but persistently.Kyle bit his lips. The shards exploded not a moment after hitting the creature. This time, it paused as pieces of rock rolled off of its body.“It will take you ages to kill this thing.” Droigheann commented. The Demon of the Nightbloom sat upon a large rock, watching Kyle’s struggle with an amused look on his face. His lips were curled up somewhat, and his eyes glimmered with the fun he was having.“Come and do it yourself then.” Kyle snapped. “I’m a mage – I can’t just go and smash the damn thing t
