Hannah struggled to gather her breath as she suddenly sat up on the bed.  She had no idea how to react to the news that Kennedy had just broken to her.  She thought they were in a good place now, that what just transpired was a sign that they would solidify their relationship.  She then remembered what the nurse had said in the hospital, about him wanting a transfer. Once again, she felt used and hopeless. "Ma, someone is waiting for you in your office," a nurse told Hannah as she got into the hospital. She had been a bit late today because her monthly period had started. She hated the days she had to go to work. She knew she would automatically be late as cramps became her best friend and her body had suddenly grown resistant to the pain relief drugs.  She had brought it upon herself. She took so much of it that it made her body unresponsive. But this morning, she only had a cup of herbal tea, and the pain drastically decreased. She cursed herself for not knowing about it earlier.  What pained her most aside from her cramps that morning was the fact that Kennedy was traveling.
