Akara was genuinely startled when he removed the girl’s mask. Behind the wolf mask was a beautiful face. A wave of nostalgia washed over him—just like the moment he had once removed Lisa’s mask, the girl who trained him during his childhood. The masked girl’s name was Sania. When her mask was taken off, her face twisted with both pain and irritation, tears streaming down her cheeks. Akara was momentarily stunned, then quickly regained his senses and held out the three pills he had prepared.“Take them.”Sania snatched them as if seizing prey, then swallowed all three while turning her face away. Akara immediately began channeling his energy, helping heal Sania’s leg, which was now covered in burn marks.“Kid! We’re truly in danger if the forest guardians show up!” the Drake shouted, causing Sania to rise instantly into a battle-ready stance.“That one,” Akara said calmly, pointing at the Drake. Sania approached it out of curiosity.“What’s your name?” Akara asked.“Sania,” she replied

The Drake then explained that it had absorbed the Green Jade Meridian Akara had stored. The effects of that precious item had caused it to evolve into a two-pattern entity, and it was also able to speak because of its bloodline. Ordinary beasts inherit instincts from their parents, but magical beasts above the Mystic Realm inherit fragments of their parents’ memories.“So… that means you’re my magical beast now, right?” Akara said in a threatening tone.“As if!” the Drake snapped back.“You absorbed my Green Jade Meridian and my Corpse Poison Flower, didn’t you?” Akara raised his Heavenly Flame in his palm. “Coincidentally, I’m hungry. Grilled lizard doesn’t sound like a bad dinner.”“I’m a dragon descendant, not a lizard!” the Drake shouted. But Akara calmly brought the Heavenly Flame closer.“A-Alright, alright!” the Drake finally gave in. It was better than becoming dinner. Having just hatched, it couldn’t yet control its power properly. That was why its aura pressure had been so o

“What’s wrong!?” Sania shouted when Akara suddenly changed direction.“Someone’s in danger!” He immediately unleashed his realm aura and shot forward at even greater speed. Soon, an orange glow came into view—the Mystic aura of a banyan tree. An aura so oppressive that even Komo shuddered in fear. There were four concentric layers within that Mystic aura. The blonde-haired woman stood calmly, even though countless creeping roots writhed before her. At the center of those roots bloomed a red flower, its stem rising directly from the ground—a Blood Spider Lily, a flower with long, finger-like petals. In Japanese, it was called Higanbana, a flower that symbolized death.“Watch out!” Akara lunged forward and scooped the woman into his arms just as the hanging roots of the magical tree nearly struck her.“Damn human!” the banyan tree cursed. Akara and the others immediately fled, leaving behind the fully Mystic-level banyan tree—just one step away from reaching the Dragon rank.“Are you al

“Oh, are you here to look for medicinal ingredients?”“No. We’re here to memorize the different types of medicinal plants,” Mala explained, making Akara recall just how thick the medicinal plant encyclopedia Mama Lia had given him was. A wave of sadness washed over him as well—he missed Mama Lia, who had always accompanied him and taught him so many things.“Akara, what’s wrong?”“It’s nothing. I was just remembering my training days, haha. Just like you all—having to memorize so many kinds of plants.”“What are you doing over there!? Hurry up and finish your assignment!” a man shouted.“Sorry, Senior!” Mala and the others replied.“We’ll get going first, Akara!” They then left, while Akara continued strolling through the city, observing various medicinal plants. Not long after, he encountered Elder Dong Waru along with several of his disciples.“Akara! Just as I expected—you’re here too! There’s something I want to discuss with you,” said the chubby, middle-aged man.“Elder Dong Waru

Sania then launched a kick toward the man’s neck, while Akara gripped his arm with both hands. The kick was powerful enough to create a violent gust of wind, yet the man did not budge in the slightest. Panic flashed across Sania’s face—but at that moment, Akara released his realm aura and focused his mutated flames into his hands.“Heavenly Flame!?” The man was visibly shocked and immediately swung his arm, trying to fling Akara away. However, he failed—the grip of Akara’s hands was far stronger than he expected. Flames began to scorch his arm, and panic finally set in.Seizing the opening, Sania hooked both of her legs around the man’s arm, forcing him to release his choke. She flipped behind him, locked one of his arms, and pressed a dagger against his throat.“Let go,” Sania said softly—but her voice was filled with lethal intent. With no choice, the man released his grip. Akara immediately collapsed into coughing, gasping desperately for air. The sleeve of the man’s robe was now b

Komo reverted to his original size, crashing through the forest and knocking down several small trees. He immediately activated his mystical aura and formed several massive crystals. However, he suddenly froze when he looked toward where the banyan tree was supposed to be.“Why are you spacing out!? Move!” Akara shouted as he ran forward, leaping over Komo. Strangely, Komo was so startled that he stumbled and fell. A moment later, he fired a crystal at tremendous speed.“Huh? It’s gone!?” Akara stood up at once. Komo’s crystal had pierced the ground—but the mystical banyan tree was nowhere to be seen.“Maybe it’s hiding!” Komo muttered in confusion. He formed dozens of small crystals and rained them across the area. The destructive force was terrifying, piercing through trees with ease. Yet the banyan tree still did not appear.“Stop wasting your energy!” Akara jumped up and smacked Komo on the head hard enough to make him shrink back to a small size. Together, they searched the surro

The massive crystal streaked forward at terrifying speed, tearing through the writhing roots and nearly striking the three Amerta Academy students.“What was that!?”“A crystal!?”They froze in shock, their attention fully drawn to the colossal projectile—until their eyes widened as they saw two figures burst free from the collapsing dome of roots.…Moments earlier, after launching the crystal, Komo had shrunk back down. The opening was far too small for his full form. Even so, escaping with Akara’s speed alone was impossible—despite Akara already releasing his realm aura and reinforcing his body with Heavenly Flame.Just as despair set in, a girl with a high ponytail shot upward from below. She seized Akara’s hand, pulling him along as they escaped at the very last second. She had been following him from the very beginning, hiding flawlessly among the trees, her presence completely concealed. The hostile gazes the academy students had aimed at Akara instantly shifted when they saw S

The tiger leapt from behind its master, lunging straight at Akara. However, Akara was already prepared. He raised both of his blades high, aligning them perfectly with the red tiger’s exposed abdomen as it pounced.Still reeling from the powerful kick Akara had delivered earlier, Vicrus Besiah failed to properly control his two contracted spirits. As a result, Akara’s strike pierced straight through the red tiger’s body.“Aaagh!!” Vicrus Besiah screamed in agony. He felt the pain as if it were his own—his khodam was directly linked to him.“You damn brat!” Vicrus Besiah roared as he hastily pulled out an object resembling a firecracker and launched it toward the sky.In a flash, Akara slashed it apart midair.Vicrus Besiah froze, his face drained of color.“Huh!? W–Wait! Don’t kill me!” He staggered backward in terror—then suddenly stopped. Blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.Akara had already thrust both blades into Vicrus Besiah’s abdomen.Their eyes met. Akara’s gaze was co

The two students, including Leda Kentos, were left utterly stunned, unable to utter a single word. In the next instant, Heavenly Flames spread outward, devouring every root in their path.Even roots that were not directly struck were torn apart—the shockwave from the explosion alone surged like a violent gale, sweeping everything away.“What the hell was that!?” Komo shouted, staring at Akara in horror.“So it was you back then?” Sania murmured, recalling the identical explosion that had followed the battle between Lina and Prince Bram Bidara. The same devastating blast that had once burned an entire forest—though back then, the flames had been purely blue.As nearly all the roots were reduced to ash, a massive crater was revealed—the aftermath of the Higanbana explosion. The hole descended deep underground, and from within it glowed an orange light—the aura of the domain’s owner.“Damn humans!”“There it is!” Leda Kentos shot forward, followed closely by the one remaining student who

“Sania!”Akara instantly changed direction toward her—even though he was only a step away from severing the banyan tree’s source of power.“Focus, Akara!” Komo shouted. With Akara diverting, the banyan tree was finally able to concentrate its defense against Komo’s crystal assault and launch a direct attack on Sania. She was whipped away by the roots and sent flying—then, in midair, she donned her wolf mask.“There’s poison in the air!” Sania shouted. The moment the mask covered her face, her voice sounded clear and refreshed.“Spider Blood Lily!?” Akara immediately cloaked his body in flames, repelling the poison permeating the air.“Help Komo!” Sania shouted—even though Akara was already close to her.“But you—?” Akara froze in shock as Sania suddenly appeared right beside him, almost as if she had teleported. She slashed apart several roots that were lunging toward Akara while he was distracted.“Go!” she ordered.“All right!” Akara dashed toward Komo, who was struggling as the ban
