CHAPTER 31 - Agreed To Be My Girlfriend
Elvis was left speechless; he glanced at his brother, who was also stunned by what had happened. “Did she just block me because of this lowlife, Jack?” Elvis said to himself, as his expression turned crimson. “Come on, let's go.” Jack smiled when he saw the expressions on their faces; they got what they deserved; if they had stayed in their lane, this wouldn't have happened. They watched as Vivian held Jack's hand while walking towards the entrance. Elvis rolled his hand on his hand, his hand curled into a fist, before slamming it so hard on the desk; not only was he humiliated, but he felt embarrassed. His action got the attention of others. “I am going to teach that foolish jack a lesson he wouldn't never forget in his lifetime.” He said with gritted teeth. Outside the restaurant, Jack pulled away. “Don't act like everything is fine, I want those images to be deleted.” “Is that how to thank me for saving you,” she asked. Jack glared at her before he mouthed coldly. “
CHAPTER 32 - Dinner with Nelson Sancho
Jack stepped out of the car and ambled towards the building; he wore a casual outfit, a shirt,-shirt and jeans and sneakers to match the attire. When he walked into the house the first place he entered was his grandmother’s room. He knocked twice before the door was open from inside. “Good evening, Grandma.” He said with a grin. Grandma was surprised to see Jack; it’s been weeks since they last saw each other face to face aside from facetime. Jack engulfed her in a warm hug, she felt excited seeing her grandson. “Look at you, you are looking handsome as always. How are you doing?” She intoned. “I am fine grandma, and you.” “I am fine, Jack. Your Dad is back, hope you are aware.” Grandma said with her voice barely above a whisper. “Yes, Grandma. I am aware.” He replied, walking into the room. He sat on the sofa, with his hand behind his head. “How is school, and hope you are doing alright.” “Grandma school is great, and I am doing fine,” he replied. Jack inhaled and exhaled
Chapter 33 - Apologies Not Accepted
Vivian felt her heart throbbing, and his words hit her. She knew it wasn’t going to be easy but she wouldn’t go home without expressing herself. “Jack, I know what I did was bad. I take the blame for it.” She said with a low and apologetic tone. Mr. Harrison’s gaze moved from Vivian to his son, Jack, and back to Vivian. He felt something was amiss, and he would need an explanation. “Can someone tell me what’s going on?” He abruptly questioned. She swallowed hard; her lips parted open but no words came out. She knew he was still upset about what had happened between them. Jack stepped in to unfold the truth. Everyone in the dining room was taken aback by what they just heard. Mr. Nelson stared at his daughter with his brow wide in disbelief. He felt angry but kept his cool; his daughter lied to him; she never informed him about what she did. “Why would you do that?” Mr. Harrison questioned, and now fathom why his son had been angry at her. “I am sorry, I didn’t mean for it to hap
Chapter 34 - Misplaced His Card
Jack felt a flush of embarrassment, his cheeks warmed as he realised the delay he was causing. He took a deep breath while trying to maintain his composure. “I am sorry; just give me a moment,” Jack said politely, with his frustration evident in his tone. “You don’t have money to pay for what you bought, what a shame.” Someone said from the background. “He is poor; he just wants to show off.” Another person said. “Get out and stop acting?” another chimed in. Jack tried to refresh the bank application and then tried again. He kept an indifferent expression, as murmurings erupted from the people behind. He didn’t blame them, but himself for being careless. Where did he misplaced his card? “If you don’t have money, you get out of here.” Another person sneered. A familiar figure came out from the crowd when she spotted Jack, she giggled uncontrollably as she ambled towards Jack. It was none other than Anastasia, Clara Grant’s best friend. “Why not tell everyone you can’t pay f
CHAPTER 35 - PAID FOR EVERYONE
“I can see he is showing off. It should work, or else he will be arrested.” Another person said. The salesperson kept a serious gaze, as she began accessing the things bought by the other customers. When she was through with the last person, she raised her brow, taking a glance at Jack. “It’s worth $35,000 for everything.” “Okay,” he nodded, turning to the two men who had been standing at the door making sarcastic statements. “Do you care for anything?” The men exchanged glances then, One of them nodded, while the other refused. “Take what you want.” Without hesitation, the man rushed into the store and got a shirt and sneakers. His friend shook his head, he was scared Jack wouldn’t be able to pull the transaction. Then to his driver, who didn’t hesitate to pick three shirts, a pair of jeans and sneakers.” “So how much in total?” “It’s $50,400.” Jack handed her his card. The customers who picked a few things didn’t move; they were curious to know how it would unfold; the
Chapter 36 - I Got A Ticket For You
“It’s nothing,” Jack said to Anna. “Why are you telling her, it’s nothing? Why not tell her the truth that you stole someone else’s card to purchase sneakers just so you could impress her.” Anastasia blurted out. Jack shook his head in displeasure, his jaw tightening the only thing holding him from unleashing his wrath at them was the fact that they were women. “I can see you are still angry that you got humiliated; it wasn’t my fault that you couldn’t afford $6,700 to pay for what you picked, and you ended up leaving the store in shame. I can lend you money to get them, or better still; I can help you order the same sneaker.” Jack said sarcastically with his brow raised. Anastasia felt embarrassed when she noticed the students whispering among themselves. She knew she had to do something, or Jack might end up making her look like a loser before the other students; Clara Grant narrowed her eyes at her friend. “Is he joking? What makes him think she couldn’t purchase some sneakers
CHAPTER 37 - Thinking Of A Way Out
Mr. Nelson Sancho sighed softly, “I don’t know, but this is a big event; everyone will be there. He might as well be there,” Vivian raises her head, her eyes darting from her father to the ticket and back to her father. “Are you sure he is going to show up at the concert?” she asked with her voice barely above a whisper. Mr. Nelson Sancho exhaled heavily, “Yes, I am sure. He will make it to the event.” He replied, not knowing if he was right or wrong, but he just wanted his daughter to feel happy. “Then, I will go. I would love to see him again, and this time, I will make sure he forgives me and takes me as his girlfriend.” Mr Nelson Sancho nodded, “You will need to eat your food; you wouldn’t want him to see you look like this. Your collarbone is becoming visible.” “Okay, I will eat. Thank you, Daddy,” she said, smiling. Then, hug her father, who wrapped his arm around her, feeling relief. “You heard her; get her something to eat,” he instructed the maid who had been standing
CHAPTER 38 - THE CONCERT
“I was coming out of class when he called me over to the hotel, I was surprised. When I got there, he told me he got three tickets for his cousin, but they wouldn’t be attending the concert because they had an emergency family meeting that same day.” Jack continued. “He also asked if I have any other friends who would love to attend alongside me. I nodded, and he added two extra for me. Meaning I got a total of five for us.” Jack lied knowing if he should tell them the truth that he got it with his money, they would have doubted him or would have questioned him and then his identity would be exposed. “Wow!” Raphael looked at it. “You are lucky, bro. But you have five of them. What are you going to do with the remaining two?” “Yeah,” Harry nodded in agreement. “Harry will be giving it to his girlfriend so she won’t break up with him.” Jack mocked. “While I give this other to Anna.” “Anna!” “Jack is in love.” His friends teased. Jack shook his head, “No, I am not. She is my friend
CHAPTER 39 - Clara's Frustration
“Look, who is here?” someone said from behind. “Jack the errand boy.” Jesse made a mockery of him. Jack tossed his gaze towards the direction he heard the voice; he clenched his jaw and then ignored Jesse Warren and Clara Grant as he held Anna’s hand while walking towards the counter. They placed an order for two soft drinks, and the bartender handed them the drink, “Thank you,” he said as he took the drink from the counter. Jesse stood in front of Jack, but Jack tried to move away. “Where do you think you are going, Jack? I can see you now have wings, but no matter how big your wings are, you can’t fly higher with it.” He sneered. Jack frowned his face, with his jaw clenched. He peered through Jesse’s shoulder, and behind him were Eric and Elvis Hilton, birds of the same feathers. “I wonder how you got the money to pay for the ticket, or did you steal from someone.” Vivian stopped, as she hid at a spot glancing at them. She wouldn’t want to be seen by Jack or Jesse Warre
Chapter 40 - Betrayed By His Best Friend
“I can see you are scared of saying it, but don’t worry we got you,” Jesse smirked. “Harry is evil and shouldn’t be called your friend.” Harry trembled not in fury but in panic and fear. He winked at Jesse not to utter a word. What could they be hiding? Was there something he knew that he didn’t want Jack to grasp? “Jesse, stop! Not here!” Harry said with a crackled tone, then turned to Jack. “Don’t believe anything they say, he is trying to play with your mind.” Jack was puzzled, as were Barbara, Raphael and Anna, who stood behind them. “We have proof. Enough to show him and tell him what you did. You know you should never be friends with people like him.” He said, pointing at Harry, who kept a gloomy outlook. Harry inhaled and exhaled heavily. He wished he had never shown up, but there was no way he could stand and watch his friend get attacked by Jesse and his friends after what he had witnessed the other time. “What is going on here? You had better start talking, or you fo
