Chapter 271 - Eighty-foot Era Creators!
I'm a Stingray?/MisterE05
“There isn’t anything there worth protecting, at least not for now.” Skendus followed along, and felt that there wasn’t any way for this dragon to abuse the information that he, and the team held. “We’re planning to plant tens of Mana Roots back home, maybe hundreds? We need dragons to keep the place cool, or else the roots kinda won’t grow.”“Why would you tell him that?” Tim asked, telepathically. “He’s gonna hold us hostage now, it would be stupid if he didn’t.”Despite what they expected after Tim spooked the team, the dragon remained docile. He didn’t either threaten, or attack the team under any means.Instead, it said. “That’s a very ambitious idea, and I wish you luck! Thank you for exchanging information with me.”Based on that reaction, it was apparent that the dragon didn’t care to harvest Mana Roots himself. The main reason behind that was that he likely couldn’t harvest the roots, therefore he wasn’t interested, and the alternative reason was that the roots weren’t potent
Chapter 272 - "108"
I'm a Stingray?/MisterE05
After summoning the Explorative Soul ability, the team carried out their search for two whole days! Floating through tens of kilometers of ice at low speeds had surely been a hectic, boring process. They’ve seen plenty of animal species along the way, twenty of them being adult or adolescent Frost Orcs, which was good but not what they wanted to find, but thankfully, at last, after that two day timestamp, they reached a milestone! Deep within the ice, about sixty meters below, they found a burrow that contained tens of two-foot tall dragon eggs! Initially they believed that the ice shouldn't be over sixty meters deep, but it would appear that on occasions when it was that thick, it was more likely for burrows to be present within it! The science behind it made sense, as deeper areas of ice were safer to hide eggs in.The burrow they found was thirty meters wide, so surely it was made to welcome tens of baby dragons! The burrow was quite dry too, allowing the eggs to achieve the minim

Timothy and Gustav melted through the ice in front of them, and slowly created a tunnel for the sake of getting to the dragon eggs. They were sure to be as careful as they could, because even though the ice around them was as solid as it could be, too much pressure could certainly cause problems! At the very least, they could crush the eggs below them if they weren't careful enough, and it would only take a small icy collapse in order for that to happen. Just like that, two days of work would end up getting splattered, and sprinkled across the cold sea below them!At worst, the ice could crush the team instead, and injuries like that would be difficult to recover from, as the shere blunt force that could be inflicted by a collapse would kill them before they could even get a chance to heal themselves! They couldn't afford to play around, not this time.“We should be halfway there,” Tim pointed out.Thankfully fire was very versatile at the hands of adept, third realm mages, so the two

With some effort, the team pushed exactly eighty Frost Orc eggs through the portal, and on the other side of the portal, the eggs were in the safest space that Purpureous Mundi could offer! They were in the castle. Their little task here was a success, but the mission was far from being over. Timothy guessed that even though eighty eggs sounded like plenty, the eighty, small future hatchlings wouldn’t be strong enough to lower the temperatures of the sea properly. Back home, in the already warm waters that surrounded the reef, the heat of the upcoming summer would surely pose a challenge to the hatchlings. Odds were that they wouldn’t even be able to make the waters cold enough for them to survive in, as these serpentine dragons were quite warm blooded, despite how rare that was amongst such creatures! They couldn’t have survived in the North Pole if they were cold blooded, as that would’ve been impossible, so being warm blooded in a warm environment was risky for creatures who were

Timothy was getting better and better at creating abilities from scratch, or replicating them for that matter. His high MQ allowed him to perform such miracles, and in this case, he was trying to replicate one of the illusion-based abilities that Skendus had. “Summon it again,” He guided. “I am, can’t you hear me?” Skendus asked, as he spoke to the other telepathically. “Oh… I can hear you.” He held his breath in, and tried to get a better feel for the ability that Skendus was using. In other cases, he stole abilities from dead enemies, but since he obviously didn’t want to kill Skendus, he had to figure out how to replicate a particular ability, without causing any harm to the caster, and this was quite difficult. Timothy had his palms on Skendus’ head, and was experimenting with something that he had never tried out before. “I don’t think that I can rip your little mind trick out of your body… but, I picked up on its inner patterns of mana channels.” He added. Then, he said, “O

“You’re either a complete fool, or masquerade as a fool… Either way, what deal could a kidnapper possibly offer me? You shouldn’t have come down here, I’m trying everything I can to stop myself from biting you in half, bear!” The dragon thought, and Tim read every other word that the dragon was thinking.[-4,500 mana points][-3,100 mana points][-4,400 mana points]The system beeped every so often. It was expensive to read a beast’s mind, through every second, especially for him who was barely familiar with illusion-based powers. He was spending thousands of mana points trying to cooperate with this beast!Regardless, he remained calm, and followed along. “I’m fully aware that you can kill me, but I’m strong enough to face you by myself, and most importantly, I’m strong enough to be compassionate towards you. Simply put, I want to give you your eggs back, but you have to cooperate with me.”“Alright. You say that you want to trade, so, what am I supposed to give you in return?” She a

Timothy was decent at bargaining. Some might even say that he's decent at everything, including planning! When he started out as a stingray he made some stupid decisions, and that was only natural considering that he had actually been stupid back then, with a low IQ and all, but today, most would consider him the smartest man that they've ever seen! A third-person perspective would help the masses get to the conclusion that he was a genius. For example, even though the situations he got into got crazier every other day, the main difference in recent events was that he got each situation under his complete control, regardless of the underlying details! Sure he was a polar bear right now, grabbing the head of a huge, angry Frost Orc mamma who might attack him at any minute, but the situation was still under his control. He may seem like a shaman who was trying to heal the wicked, but perspective didn't taint his goals. The deal he made with this dragon today, gave him every bit of advan

The experiences that the team had in the North Pole, was a mix of interesting, and utterly boring events. They spent a lot of time doing repetitive tasks, most of their time actually, and things only got interesting when they saw dragons!Furthermore, the task of finding dragon eggs had been daunting, as they had to try everything in order to adapt to the challenges of the arctic. It had been challenging for them, as they were not used to such an environment whatsoever. Once they started getting used to the environment, and actually reached a milestone, they discovered that it was brutal to steal a mother’s unborn kids, despite what their mission encouraged. At least, they were convinced that it was brutal, so they ended up giving the eggs back, which at first felt nice and like the most moral thing to do, but this also had a negative effect on their minds later on, as they could feel their brain slowing down. Initially they had thoroughly believed that stealing eggs was the absolut

Timothy and the team were on the right island, but unfortunately, they couldn’t snap into the ghost world just yet. The Explorative Soul ability had a seven-day cooldown timer, and it so happens that they used the ability six days ago, when they were at the North Pole and while they were looking for dragon eggs. It was disadvantageous, but they had no other option but to respect the cooldown timer. They waited a day, they had to, but since they got bored after the first hour of waiting, the team put themselves into work, to make their stay here a lot more comfortable, and perhaps a little bit less unbearable. Timothy went out fishing, since he was the best at it without a doubt, so after a couple of hours he showcased his skills, by bringing a fat, blue-fin tuna on the island's beach. These waters had a lot of tuna fish swimming around, and the cold-ish temperatures didn't seem to bother them much. This was a good catch overall. When he turned into a stingray, the sea’s challenges s

“I look… human enough.” Tim spoke to himself. Timothy had assumed the form of a big, tough, brown-haired male. Having entered the Tamed Entity realm of mana the last time he was here, Timothy’s soul became strong enough for him to shapeshift with it, in a way, so he assumed his ideal form. He remembered idolizing Eddie Hall back on earth, so he turned himself into a taller version of that guy! He was happy.Although it was difficult to integrate into it, the ghost world actually had a lot to offer, with shapeshifting being the smallest benefit of them all, though it was still useful. In this case, the team were in a literal ghost city, and the benefits of this place might outweigh what most physical, human cities could offer! The phantom City of Fortuna was simply wonderful, no doubt about it. The team visited the city with an agenda in their minds. Their agenda circled around Mana Brackets, or overall information regarding that topic. They knew that the ghost city itself couldn’t r
