Chapter 321 - Mana, yet again dense and iron-like!
Lena experienced her first flash upgrade today, and she was beyond excited! She felt spoiled, and rightfully so, because her mana quality progression was basically railroaded by a guy who was a lot stronger than her, had plenty to offer, and cared enough about her to help her progress! Most mages did not have such privileges, they certainly did not. Some progressed through magic schools, some progressed as groups without much of a hierarchy to help them, but overall, it was quite difficult to reach the higher realms of mana. It was a known fact that the few mages who had become Expert Mages or more, liked to hold on to their secrets, so there truly was no easy way for every single mage to progress!Bottom-line, Lena reaped the benefits that most could not. Plenty of mages were not even aware that flash upgrades even existed, but she was experiencing it first hand today, under very accommodating circumstances! This was the absolute happiest a person could be while being locked in a dun
Chapter 322 - The warning of the Blue Orclets
Georgie the dragon, and his seven dragonfly companions have been lurking around the reef for a day now. They were very excited to see their goblin friends again, and had not separated from them ever since the reunion. The dragons followed Timothy and his friends everywhere, and no one really minded this. At first they could barely recognize the dragons, but Timothy explained that he had given them the ability to shapeshift, which was why they looked like tiny abominations of a Sea Orc variant, otherwise known as Blue Orclets. After that point they got along quite well, and were doing most tasks with the dragons looking over their shoulders. Once Timothy snuck off into Purpureous Mundi along with Lena, the dragons then put all of their attention to Arvena, for a reason that was simple enough to understand. Georgie was attached to Arvena, they had been attached for months now ever since they saved each other's lives from that surprise blizzard back in Valporovus. Anyway, since Georgie
Chapter 323 - Luminous Terror Jellyfish!
Lena and the dragons got closer to the giant monster, for the sake of observing it. She hoped to figure out how strong the monster was, and she was hoping that it was a weak one, so she could try and kill it herself. The monster was heading towards the reef, so she made peace with the fact that she had no other choice but to kill it, or at least attack it in order to force it to change its course. She instinctively considered this task as her responsibility, and wanted to act accordingly. However, despite what she hoped, she quickly figured out that the monster was not weak. She didn't clash with it or anything like that, no, but she got close enough to attempt and scan the monster's mana pool, but she failed. She could not scan its mana pool, or in other words, its mana quality, and this could only mean that its pool was far greater than hers!“Damn it!” She cussed. “That’s a monster, alright! Even its pool is monstrous.”Arvena could not accurately guess how much stronger the monst
Chapter 324 - Bringer of Ice Ages
Genta, and the rest of the reef had quite a predicament on their hands. They had believed that the reef had been well-equipped to deal with trouble, on the count that even small fish such as sardines were armed with the ability to shoot fireballs, however, their preparations didn’t account to deal with a giant, two-hundred meter wide monster, who also happened to be an Arch Mage!No one would’ve expected such a problem, nonetheless prepare for it, so their best option was to gather up the strongest mages they had, and then at least try to fight the monster that approached them. Genta had to be very strategic about what was to come, specifically, she had to lead most of the mages on what they were supposed to believe. With little effort, she grabbed the fifty Coral Destroyers who were supposed to be protecting the mana root farm, and brought them to the front edge of the reef. Each and every one of these coral-skinned people were Adept Mages, they were not beginners by any means, and
Chapter 325 - Shanakas
The coral reef was in trouble, and even though the team wasn’t together, it didn’t necessarily mean that all of them were oblivious of the brewing dangers. Apart from Timothy and Lena who were on a play date, everyone else was putting some work in!Skendus, Gustav, Ortana, and Fortana were together, five kilometers East of the reef, and they were here for two reasons. The first reason was that Ortana had dragged them out here because she wanted to retrieve a special ingredient, one which was supposed to improve the quality of mana potions quite a bit. She was an Alchemist in training, so surely she didn’t give up on a chance that would at the end of the day help improve her craft. Glowing Blue Dulse was a species of Algae, commonly overlooked by fish, as fish did not practice alchemy. This was the ingredient that she was looking for, but it was rare, and she certainly couldn’t find it in the reef, so she dragged along three other friends with her, so they could spread out and therefo
Chapter 326 - The restless, two-headed Demonic Dragon!
There were a few things that would excuse summoning a demonic triceratops-looking dragon. The summoner would truly need to have their back against the wall in order to pull up such a desperate trick out of their sleeve. It so happens, Fortana's back was put up against the wall. She was hiding in a hole, a couple of feet below the seafloor, and there were nearly two-hundred huge seahorses above her head who wanted to burn her alive! She blew out half of her mana pool capacity, but at least now she was certain that she and her friends would win the battle.Summoning a Shanakas in this situation was an overkill. It was the most powerful beast that she could summon, and the fact of the matter was that these sea horses were far beneath the demon in terms of power scales. The demonic dragon pierced through the horde of enemies effortlessly, and killed a quarter of them using only its head, and its tough wings! The team already had an advantage now, even though they were technically in the e
Chapter 327 - The hesitant demo-dragon
The only thing more terrifying than a two-headed demonic dragon, was a demonic dragon who was restless! It would take a great amount of work to make such a creature restless, and in this case, Fortana, its summoner, had dismissed its behaviour as a demon just being a demon, which was reasonable but she had been dead wrong nonetheless!Dragons were very aware of what was around them, and a demonic one was even more attentive. It had sensed danger before anyone else in the group could have!At some point, it roared desperately, and its roar was impossible to miss despite the sea’s attempts to muffle it! Everyone in the group, including Fortana, were almost scared to death. They felt as if their hearts were going to bounce out of their bodies, and run away!“Brace yourselves!” Skendus yelled out.Being the one who had snuck into the Shanakas’ head, and read its mind, he knew exactly what was coming. He put it upon himself to try everything to keep his friends alive! For that matter, he y
Chapter 328 - Genta's four-step plan
Trouble was brewing two kilometers away from the reef, and it was that kind of trouble that could affect thousands of human lives, rather than just the reef itself. A giant, Luminous Terror Jellyfish was approaching the reef, for the sole purpose of harvesting the mana root farm, and it was willing to risk its own life to get to them!Genta was also willing to risk her life, and the life of everyone around her, because she was unwilling to let go of the roots that she had planted herself, and had put so much effort into. She had not expected to get into such trouble of great proportions, but that fact didn't make her any less stubborn. With hundreds of goblins under her command, she was all the more willing to fight the monstrous jellyfish that no other creature would be dumb enough to fight. Giving up and fleeing was exempted from her frame of mind.“Okay, listen up!” She yelled out. “I have a three… no, four-step plan that'll help us deal with this sucker effectively, if not swiftl
Chapter 329 - Arctic Blue Stars
The sea waters were getting colder. The temperature dropped by two more degrees already, in Celsius measurements. Their surroundings have gotten colder that quickly, because the Aqus Goblins had initiated an attack against the Luminous Terror Jellyfish, triggering it to intensify its abilities! It was truly a beast of legends, and the thing was that the jellyfish was also cautious enough to avoid over-using its powers, because it did not want to risk having to float over the thick layer of ice that it could create. The jellyfish wanted to get to the mana roots, without making any sacrifices along the way. The fact of the matter was that it didn't have to sacrifice much to succeed, because it could kill off everything in its path if it got the temperature of the sea down to around -60°C! Down at that temperature, most species would freeze in no time if they were incapable, or stupid enough not to flee, and better yet, the jellyfish would even have at least twenty minutes of wiggle roo
Chapter 330 - "If you love your friends, burn them"
“Fuck you, you bastards!” Gustav yelled out, and thrusted his arm forward, as to shoot a fireball.During his fit of rage, he seemed to have forgotten that there was a transparent shield in front of him, so if he shot a fireball now, then all four members of the team would suffer the consequences! They could get burned into a crisp.Ortana was aware of this, so she dismantled her transparent shield temporarily, thus allowing the fireball to pass through, and hit the amphipteres! Afterwards, she put her shield back up immediately, because in this situation, where they could barely predict what could come next, a shield was the only thing that kept them alive, and from shitting themselves. The fireball roared forward, and hit one of the monsters. Other than getting one of them to flinch, it was fair to say that the fireball was ineffective. Now, they were officially out of ideas. Dealing with an amphiptere was troublesome, especially if they weren’t your friends. Dealing with three of
