Damon kept a sympthatic gaze at Vivan as she paced around in fear and anxiety. He knew this moment was crucial for her, she needed somone by her side, someone to give her all the support she could get right now and he was the ready to provide that for her at the moment. After what like an eternity the door came out of the operating room room with a chart, it looks like Klaus’s chart, and health record. As soon as vivan saw him, she hurriedly ran to him impatiently, “Doc, how is my Dad?” She asked as anxiety cried in. "Miss Vivan?" he called. "We’ve stabilized your father, but I need to talk to you. It's important." He said as he gestured for him to follow her to his office. Vivan’s heart lurched as she followed the doctor down the quieter corridor along with Damon. As soon as they got to his office, vivan asked "Is he going to be okay?" Vivan asked. The doctor hesitated before speaking. "We’ve managed to control his vitals for now, but there’s something you need to know

Her eyes, with a hint of hope, filled her face. “What do you mean? The doctor said there’s no cure, Damon. What could possibly help now?” Damon hesitated. He knew how far-fetched it sounded, but he couldn’t keep the idea to himself. “There’s a treatment… or rather, an experimental therapy. It’s not something most doctors would suggest because it’s still in its trial stages, but I’ve heard of cases where it worked.” Her brows furrowed in confusion. “What kind of treatment? And why wouldn’t the doctor mention it?” “Because it’s not mainstream,” Damon admitted. “It is an experimental medicine. A mix of targeted immunotherapy and some… unconventional techniques. There’s a doctor I’ve heard about—Dr. Nathan Steele. He’s known for taking on cases like your dad’s. He doesn’t play by the usual rules, but he’s made miracles happen.” Vivian’s heart raced at the prospect of a miracle. “Why didn’t you tell me this before?” she demanded with frustration and hope as she stood to her feet.

Vivian sat by her father’s bedside, her hands trembling as they gripped his. Never had she thought that her father had such an illness he had been secretly battling. Her heart broke even more when she thought of how much she had hurt him by storming into his office today.Tears welled in her eyes as she buried her face into the bed, feeling heartbroken. The only sound that could be heard was Vivian’s little sobs and the beeping sound of the machine.“Viv…” Klaus’s weak voice called, barely above a whisper. She slowly raised her head to see her father as he slowly opened his eyes. “I’m here, Dad,” she said, her voice breaking as she leaned closer. “I’m right here.”He tried to smile but didn’t have the strength. “My strong girl.”Her chest tightened, and she shook her head. The dam of emotions she’d been holding back broke, and tears spilled down her face.“Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked, her voice trembling. “Why didn’t you tell me you were this sick? You let it get this far, and

Damon nodded with his expression resolute. “I’ll handle it,” he assured her, already pulling out his phone to make the necessary arrangements. Klaus closed his eyes he was clearly, exhausted from the brief conversation. Vivian gently squeezed his hand as she sniffles softly beside him, “Daddy, you’ll see,” she whispered. “We’ll fight this together.” As Damon stepped out of the room, Vivian leaned in closer to him, with, her forehead resting against her father’s hand. She could feel the warmth of his skin, “I’m here Daddy, and I’ll be here every step of the way.” Klaus’s lips curved into a faint smile despite his weakness. “You’ve always been my light, Vivian,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. “No matter what happens, I want you to know how proud I am of you.” Vivian nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. “Save your strength, Daddy,” she said softly. “We have a lot to look forward to.” As the hours ticked by, Damon returned with updates, bringing a glimmer of hop

Soon, Klaus was transferred to Nathan Steele’s hospital. Vivian stayed by her father’s side all through the day as they prepared for the operation the next day. Soon, when it was time for the operation, Vivian’s voice trembled as she looked at her dad and then back at Nathan Steele. With a trembling voice, she spoke, “Please do all you can; he is the only one I have. Just… please, save him. He’s all I have.” Dr. Nathan placed a hand on her shoulder. “Don't worry, Vivian. We’ll do our best.” Damon slowly gripped Vivian’s hands. “Don't worry, Vivian. Let’s believe he will pull through.” Vivian smiled as she looked at Damon. “Let’s hope so, Damon. I don’t know what I would do if I lose him.” “Everything is going to be fine,” Damon said as he pulled her closer to him for a hug. Klaus, who was asleep, was wheeled into the operating room as Vivian watched him leave. Tears streamed down her face as she stared at her dad. Soon, the doors swung shut, leaving Vivian and Damon i

Klaus leaned forward slightly, as his gaze locked on Damon, clearly piqued by his interest. “Go on, Damon. What is it?”Damon took a deep breath as he glanced briefly in the direction Vivian had gone before returning his gaze to Klaus.“Sir, I have no job at the moment,” he said, as his gaze moved to the ground, which suddenly seemed fascinating.“I don’t have the means or the connections to achieve what I’m striving for at the moment,” Damon continued. “But I do have the determination and the willingness to work hard. If it’s not too much to ask… I’d like to work for you. To earn my place, prove my worth, and build a future I can be proud of.”Klaus leaned back in his chair, his eyes fixed on Damon. The room was quiet for a moment, the weight of Damon’s request hanging in the air.“You’re asking for a job?” Klaus said calmly.“Yes, sir,” Damon replied earnestly. “I would really appreciate any job you give me, sir.”A small smile tugged at the corners of Klaus’s lips. He nodded slowly

After what happened yesterday, Damon had returned to the suite where he had been lodging with Vivian a few days ago. He had searched for Vivian but discovered that she had some urgent matters to attend to. Klaus had told him to stay at the suite for as long as he needed to get himself sorted out. He had barely slept through the night as he thought about everything that had happened to him. He held the ring—the family heirloom that Klaus had given him as a token of his affection—and wondered how much it cost. He had just sent Klaus his resume via email and couldn’t help but feel immense gratitude and joy at the thought of soon having a job and becoming independent. Lying on the bed, immersed in these thoughts, he finally fell asleep. The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room as Damon’s phone buzzed insistently on the nightstand. He slowly stretched out his hand, feeling groggy, and reached for it, squinting at the unknown n

The rest of the day passed in a blur for Damon. He kept thinking about the call, the promise he and Klaus had made to each other, and the challenge set by Vivian. He wandered through the suite aimlessly as he felt both excitement and anxiety flush through him. By evening, he found himself seated at the desk in the corner of the room, staring at his laptop. The email Amanda had sent with the official details of his position was still open, and he reread it for the third time, ensuring he hadn’t missed anything. It was real. The salary, the perks, the title—it was all there in black and white. He traced his fingers over the keyboard as he tried to draft a thank-you email to Klaus. But words eluded him. How do you express gratitude for a second chance you never thought you’d get? For someone to believe in you even when you had stopped believing in yourself? The knock on the door startled him out of his thoughts. Damon frowned and glanced at the clock—it was almost 8 PM. He wasn’t ex

The morning air was crisp, brushing against Damon’s skin as he stood outside the Whitmore estate. He had woken up right on time, but it hadn’t felt like sleep—more like a long stretch of staring at the ceiling, wondering how he had gotten there. The tall iron gates opened slowly, almost dramatically, as if they knew who he was now. He tightened his grip on the steering wheel of the sleek black car—the one Klaus had sent for him the day before, along with a set of house keys and a signed contract. A house. A job. A ring. All in exchange for one act. One moment. One help. The tires crunched gently over the gravel as Damon drove through the open gates, the estate grow larger with every turn of the wheel. The car, the house, the job—even the damn ring on his finger—it was all still too much. Too sudden. Too perfect. And he knew how easily it could all slip through his fingers if he messed up. One mistake and this dream-turned-reality could vanish just as fast as it had appea

As soon as Vivian walked away, Damon used the opportunity to admire his office. He stepped inside fully this time, letting the door close behind him with a quiet hush. The room was sleek but not loud about it—glass and dark wood, brushed chrome handles, floor-to-ceiling windows with a view that reminded you this wasn’t some startup in a strip mall. It was Whitmore. And he was inside it now. He ran his fingers along the edge of the desk, smooth and cool beneath his skin. The chair felt like something out of a CEO’s catalog—far too comfortable for someone still figuring out where the coffee machine was. A small hum of nerves fluttered in his chest. This was his. That name etched on the glass table didn’t feel borrowed anymore. He was mid-thought when the door clicked open behind him. Damon turned—and saw her. A woman was standing right there by the door, arms folded, her eyes cold like she already didn’t like what she saw. She didn’t smile, didn’t greet him, didn’t even step in. Sh
