The police swarmed the hall, their sirens piercing the air as they secured the scene. All the guests were in total shock, their faces pale and frightened from that gunshot. Amidst all of the chaos, Tom was rooted to the spot. His mind kept reeling with questions. Who wanted him dead? That was the million-dollar question that he needed an answer to. He however felt a wave of gratitude wash over him, since none of his esteemed guests were hurt. That would have been a much bigger issue, and so he was very thankful that nothing like that happened. Tom scanned around for any clues, but there was no trace of the assassin. He had vanished into thing air without being captured by the authorities. The police scrambled to review the security footage, but Tom knew it was a long shoot. So that wasn't going to be of any benefit. Just as he was about to let out a sigh of relief, his phone rang. He grabbed the phone from his pocket and answered the call. A doctor's voice came on the line.

A white limo waited for Tom outside the hospital. As he settled into the plush leather seat, his mind reeled from the recent events that had been unfolding in his life. The doctor's words were still fresh in his mind.... Who was this woman that came for Lisa and how did she pull everything off so easily? He really needed answers. "Take me to my house," Tom instructed the driver, his voice low and urgent. "Which of your mansions, General?" the driver asked. "I mean, take me to my old house... where my wife and I lived," Tom replied. He thought perhaps he'd find Lisa at their old house, the place where they had shared so many memories together. It was the only place that made sense, considering he hadn't moved into any of his mansions with her after her injury. Tom's heart ached with longing as he wondered if she might be waiting for him there. The driver nodded and pulled away, navigating through the evening traffic with ease. Tom's eyes snapped open, and he was met with an unfamiliar chill in the air. After rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he realized the window was open, and the wind was blowing in, causing the curtains to billow inward. With his eyes still heavy from sleep, Tom managed to go close the window and was about to drift off again when he noticed something was off: His wife wasn't in the bed. Where could she be? Tom wondered. "Lisa? Lisa?" Tom called out twice, but there was no response. He threw off the covers and got out of bed. He checked the entire room, but Lisa was nowhere to be found. Where is she? Tom kept wondering. It was then that a faint murmur caught his attention. He followed the sound and realized it was coming from the bathroom. Tom headed towards the bathroom door and reached out for the doorknob. He slowly turned it, and the door creaked open, revealing Lisa standing with her back to him. Tom finally decided to confront his guest, Felix, and made his way downstairs, still in his nightgown. As Tom approached where Felix sat, he stood up from the couch and bowed deeply to Tom. "Good day, General Sullivan," Felix said as he bowed, leaving Tom utterly shocked. "What the heck just happened?" Tom thought to himself, stunned. Felix had just bowed to him, acknowledging his position in the army. Was this some kind of joke? Tom's mind was racing with questions. What were Felix's intentions? Because Tom knew very well that his cousin would never bow to him. He knew Felix hated him so much that he would be happy if he was even shot dead at that very moment.
