Chapter 21
The time was six o'clock; at this time, Isaiah was still being interrogated, and the clear sunny day had slowly morphed into a night. The light from the stars and those of the city, as usual, in times of clear sky, seemed to be in a competition over which glittered the brightest. But the lights coming from Bradley Zay University proved to be much more luminous than the other lights of the city, even brighter than the stars. Especially tonight, in the Bradley Hall. The FrontView Talent Hall, named after the Bradleys. A large dome-like edifice that marked out the school when viewed from the sky. It's the largest, most magnificent building. It was almost the size of a standard football field. On its roof were large moving LED lights, each beaming magnificent rays of all colors across the sky like lasers. The opening of the mall was flagged on all sides by poles of blue LED light. In the middle, heading towards the large door, was a red carpet where the students, all flashily dressed, we

The battle was drawn for Jenny. In the face of losing everything—her prestige, power, personality, and status—she was determined to at least not go down without throwing a few punches herself. She was not going to sit down and watch them tear her apart like a lone, defenseless deer.Walter and everyone else were shocked at her words, including Luke and Jackson. "How dare—""What does she mean by that?" Monica asked the couple, interrupting Walter. She had sensed before that there was something off about Jules and Walter. "What happened between you two?" Harold asked."Jenny, I think you should stop this," Jackson whispered into Jenny's ears pleadingly. "We have no idea on whether or not Isaiah would be able to help us. Please."Luke nudged him. "You worry too much, Jackson. Let Jenny do her thing."This did nothing to quell Jackson's worry of Jenny losing everything, but it did get him to keep quiet and leave Jenny to handle herself.Jules felt awakened. Like a beast that had been s

Walter saw Jenny's reaction to the question and immediately burst out laughing, gaining his ground once again. Jenny and the boys were silent at this. They genuinely did not know where Isaiah was taken to and sincerely felt shame at the thought of it."They won't say anything, because I finally dealt with the Fetch-Boy," Walter began bragging. "I had the insurance company take care of him. He is probably in prison for stealing the ring that I got for Jules right now, begging to be released. Serves him right for thinking he was so untouchable."By this time many students had already surrounded them, listening to what was being said, as the camera lights flashed across the place. "I see Fetch-Boy has finally gotten what he deserves," said one bystander."Serves the idiot right," another said. "He has always been a thief anyway."The crowd that had been gathering around cheered Walter. He was happy. Finally his wounded pride was getting healed. "Just you see," he continued. "That idio

"Hey, all of you losers," Jenny heard Walter call out as his phone rang. "Come over here." He seemed very enthusiastic, as though he really wanted to show them something important."Is that Isaiah calling?" Jenny asked no one in particular. She was merely just speaking to herself. "It has to be Isaiah," Luke concluded. "Let's go, guys. Let's see if what Walter is saying is nearly even true.""Look, it's Jerry, the CEO of Javelin Insurance firm," Walter screeched excitedly. "He wants to show me a job well done."His friends cheered, all of them, excited to see what was going to happen. Walter placed the hand he was holding the phone with up just so everyone around him would have a clearer view while making sure to have his face on the video call, like he was about to have a selfie with his friends."Walter, from the bottom of my heart," the stout, round-faced man with crimson hair in the video began, putting one hand out with his middle finger on flick, "fuck you and your fucking fami

The murmurs had become almost full-blown protests now. Every student in the hall felt, in a sense, extremely cheated."Tell me this is all a big joke," one student stood up to say, her hands raised as though she had received the worst news of the century."We don't want to Fetch-Boy," another student said, raising his fist defiantly. He made it into a chant. "We don't want Fetch-boy! We don't want Fetch-boy!"It became almost a hall-wide chant soon enough. Almost every student was saying it. "We don't want Fetch-Boy," they chanted.Walter found himself smiling again at the time. He thought it would affect anything."Coordinate yourselves, students," the moderator said into the mic. "The decision wasn't made by me; it was made by the chancellor, Mark Baun. If you have any problems concerning it, feel free to check into his office to lodge a complaint."There was a resounding sigh. It seems just about everyone in the school was an enemy to Isaiah. The protests stopped soon enough."It's

It was dark now, although the light from the FrontView Talent Hall still stained the sky with its brightness. Isaiah managed to walk outside from the place, not having to squeeze between the crowd of students and others alike, as everyone gave him necessary pavement to move, largely still surprised at what exactly had really happened to him."Well that was fun," he mumbled to himself, amused as he strolled down the red carpet. Jules' face flashed across his mind's eye, remembering her facial expression when she realized he had lied to her about the student who supposedly was in charge. He almost burst out laughing at his memory. He had indeed done quite the damage to her and her man's pride. "What a joke," he said.He was really cozying up to his newfound status. But as soon as he thought about it, his shoulders lowered. What if he got used to it and became like everyone else, he asked in his mind. He didn’t want to enjoy it so much that his newfound prestige would blind his mind to e

It was a garden, divided into several squares of flowers, each having a water fountain in it. Isaiah was standing on a wide, crusted road that led towards a pearly gate, with large and magnificent buildings after the gate that he could see. "Woah, fancy," Isaiah remarked, staring ahead at the garden and the gate. The road that led to the gate within the garden seemed to be tiled in diamond-crusted plates that reflected his body as he stood on it. In his life, he had never imagined such a thing was possible. He wondered if thieves never paid any visits to the place. But soon he realized how that was impossible. From the wall, a red light projected up towards him. He moved back, startled. "Scanning completed," a robotic voice said mechanically. "You have been deemed safe, with no weapons or any other tool that could cause harm. You are free to go in.""Woah," he marveled, walking in. He wondered what would have happened to him if a gun or any other sort of weapon had been found on his

"No, that's not what this is, sir," Elena said, moving back a bit. She seemed a bit frightened."Then what is it?" The waiter asked again, clearly angered. "If you're not here to steal my customer and my commission, what are you here for, you bitch? Do you think I am a child to be lied to?"Elena bowed to him immediately. Isaiah marveled at this. It was such a surprising move. He observed immediately that the workers here had a hierarchy to them. "I am sorry," she said."Bro, look!" Isaiah began, standing up to the waiter, even though he was nothing at all compared to the waiter's bulky size, which he actually just realized the moment he stood up to him. He shook the surprise off in no time. "She isn't waiting for me or trying to get me anything. The truth is that she knows me, and I know her. She's my friend."Whether by the sheer unwillingness to understand what was going on or a glitch in his mind, the waiter grew red in his face. His eyes clearly told everyone who could notice tha

Isaiah was angry. He had experienced something he never thought would be possible in such a setting. His blood boiled within his veins. Truly he would have gained some gratification watching the waiter and the security guards suffer, but he knew all too well what being made to suffer for the amusement of others felt like. As he thought, the faces of Walter, Harold, Monica, and Jules flashed in his mind. He did not want to be like them."Aarrgh!" He snarled at himself for having such a kind heart. "No, I don't think that would be necessary at all. They should not be punished like that.""What?" The manager was shocked. Even Elena's eyes widened, and the waiter and his security guard gasped. "Why? These men troubled and humiliated you, and if they don't get punished to satisfaction, it would be a stain on me for actually hiring them and being in charge of this place.""Not that kind of humiliation," he said. "Yes, the waiter assaulted me, but I just don't want to have him punished for m

"Woah, not so fast," Isaiah said. "Not at all. For one, I am extremely new on this and I don't have any real idea on how to run a business. I have a lot that is keeping me busy, plus I am really still just a student. So I would like that you continue running it for now, thank you.""Okay," she said despite herself. "I suppose that could work out. But also there is also something else your father told me to show to you.""Oh."She reached down below and grabbed a box and then dropped it on the table. It was a dark red, wooden box. From the look of it now, he could tell it was heavy and made out of quite excellent wood. There were several designs around it, carved into the wood. Isaiah looked at it with a magical allure. It seemed ancient in a unique way."What's that?" he asked. "You should see for yourself. Your father said I should pass it over to you."There was not much of an explanation in that sentence, but Isaiah held the box. It was heavy, but not as heavy as it looked. He ope
