Chapter 52
Out of the blue, from a crowd of dissatisfied and restless students, came forward Jules, screaming at the top of her voice."There you are, Isaiah," she said, and behind her rallied a number of students, all of them with grimacing faces coming forward but not saying anything. Isaiah thought that they were a bit afraid of him from every other thing. Isaiah forced his word forward. "What do you want, Jules?""How dare you show your face here asking me that, you liar?" Jules was ignited like the top of a volcano about to blow off, especially seeing just how mind Isaiah was. "You deceived me on the night of the event. You gave my win to Brittany and then lied that you had no influence. Why?""I have no time for this, Jules," he said, walking away from whatever he thought Jules was trying to play at. Luke and Jackson followed behind him. Jules felt ashamed from the sheer show of disregard Isaiah was displaying. She could have taken it anywhere but not in front of all the students right t
Chapter 53
Jules shrieked back at Isaiah, recoiling away from him and then straightening herself up."Of course I wasn't begging him," Jules immediately said, right there in front of all the regular students that had seen her beg. "I was just threatening him for doing whatever he did that night that cost us a win. Why on earth do you think I'd be begging a nobody like him?"Walter ignored what his girlfriend was saying and immediately went towards Isaiah. There was a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "You... I am going to deal with you for everything you've done. For all the losses. Just you watch." Walter spoke with terrible violence. As he spoke, all the anger from the constant humiliations Isaiah had made him suffer rose within him, like water in an overflowing well.Isaiah merely scoffed at his threat, folding his hands and looking away."You think I am bluffing, do you?" Walter continued. He was so close to Isaiah's face that Isaiah could smell his minty breath. "If you don't undo whatever y
Chapter 54
The only people to remain with Isaiah as the crowd moved away were Luke and Jackson. An impression had been carved deep in their hearts of Isaiah that they really needed to question. As Isaiah stood there, wondering what it was he was going to do with James, who he was sure was responsible for leaking the story to Walter that he was named the owner of the Hiatus Hotel not so long ago, Jackson and Luke moved closer to him."What was that all about, Isaiah?" Jackson asked. "What's going on?" Luke added. "Did anything happen between you and Walter that he was talking about?""My friends," Isaiah began, placing his hands on both their shoulders. "I will explain everything when I can. Not now. But I will explain soon enough."The boys were now getting impatient with Isaiah's constant pushing away of the question. Ever since Professor Lance got fired, he had been behaving in a very odd manner. Yet, both of them found no need to voice their concerns now."I have to go look for someone," Isa
Chapter 55
"Alert!" The system announced. "You now have one of your enemies in your grip. You must punish him as revenge for what he did to you now."Isaiah froze up. Truly, there was James, helplessly trying to wriggle away from Isaiah's hold. And James had done quite enough to deserve a beating, but Isaiah thought himself unready to give any such punishment. But then, he wondered if he would have done it anyway if the system had never woken up to give him such instruction.James struggled to set himself free. "Let me go," he said, shaking. He was afraid of what would happen to him. Isaiah had a larger body and frame than James, so he was right to be afraid."Isaiah has gone mad!" One of the girls in the car said they were cautious but afraid to go help James out since they were afraid they would get caught up in whatever Isaiah was going to do to James.Meanwhile, in Isaiah's mind, which was now in a place beyond space and time, Isaiah asked the system, "What am I supposed to do to him?""You
Chapter 56
In his mind, he saw his life flash past, like a comet, as the crowd bore down on him. Everybody he had helped and all the mistakes he had made flashed in his mind as images. From the waiter who wanted to beat him and Elena to a pulp, to the security guards that he pardoned, to James and his cousin Bri—James, whom he forgave so much—all of it, he was regretting now. Now he thought he was going to pay for it. For all the show of weakness that he had displayed.Time seemed to freeze as the crowd of students marched towards him. He thought in that brief amount of time between them and his apparent clubbing by the mob that 'the last time I was saved by the system, I was supposed to be dead. I can only hope that I don't die in the hands of these mas people.'Isaiah shut his eyes as the students were almost close to him, their hands just a little distance away from tearing his clothes. But there was a sound, something he did not expect for even a million years from now. The sound of a vehic
Chapter 57
The crowd of students were more shocked that Jenny was hugging Isaiah than they were shocked that Jenny had been delivered to them by a black suspicious van who housed people clad in black clothes, who spoke no words, nor explained who they were at all."But Lucy told us Isaiah had kidnapped her. Why are they hugging now?" Someone asked. They approached Jenny. The same girl from before in the classroom with Luke and Jackson became the mouthpiece of questions for the mob whose original motive was to clubber and beat up Isiah till he confessed his sins."Wait, Jenny" the girl began. "We really would like to know everything that has happened. Can you tell us who kidnapped you? And was Isaiah one of them?"Jenny looked around the place sporting the different placards and graffiti depicting anti-Isaiah rhetoric. "Goodness no, " she said gasping lightly. "Isaiah had no hand in this. Who would have made you think that? Well I assure you that I know who kidnapped me, and you will all find o
Chapter 58
Isaiah hung up the call, making a sigh of relief as he did. He did not want to be scared to drag but Jerry's fear mongering of the Gambinos. He wanted today to remain happy. He got Jenny back, and even more than that he had done something that he felt would make for a good reward from the system. He was happy, although within himself, there was infact a deed of doubt. He was only able to have done what he did with Professor Lance because it was easy to do.Still he was happy. "I am going to make sure from now on that the people I love are safe. I promise myself that," he said. "I am not going to make them pay for the sins of anyone who crosses me. I will show strange and resolve."He was about to make his way back to Jenny when time seemed to freeze again, and then he got shrouded in darkness. The same voice as before spoke up."Congratulations for making the right choice and showing resolve and powerful without my input" the system said. Isaiah was happy to be hearing from the syst
Chapter 59
With those words, the shroud of darkness disappeared and time once again became on the move, leaving Isaiah standing with a disturbed heart, wondering what more there was to know. He heard footsteps behind him, people moving towards him from behind. "What's going on?" A soft voice spoke, placing a hand on his shoulder from behind. "You seem tense. What are you doing?"It was Jenny, Luke, and Jackson, Isaiah noticed as he turned around."Yeah, you've been standing here for quite some time after you excused yourself," Jackson observed. Luke shook his head in agreement."Oh, it's nothing..." Isaiah began, sheepishly touching the back of his head. "I was just on a call. But I'm done now."Jenny's eyes scanned him thoroughly. She had more questions to ask him now and she just wished he wouldn't deflect as he usually did. "So who were those guys who saved me?" She asked. "They knew you and seemed to be kind of subservient to you, so I was thinking you would know something."Isaiah saw n

He could swear under the rain, or any other weather in particular, that he fact heard his name being shuttled about the hall when he stepped in, but the crowd had now become silent. Isaiah was being gossiped about, and he knew it. But in truth, that was not the main thing that troubled him. Being gossiped about was not a weird thing to happen to him. As he said before to Jackson and the Luke, the school had always hated his guts. The crowd all cleared to the side as he moved past them, still suspicious of what it was they had in mind about him that was prompting their actions. The words "Isaiah," "hero," "saved," and "Jenny" circulated around the hall like air. Isaiah pieced all the words together like he was solving a puzzle, but what they were all saying was nothing but praise. That was the weird part. If they had nothing but praise for his person, why was it that their faces and behavior did not show that?If they really thought he was the hero, why was he getting scornful looks
Chapter 61
It was a sunny day in the city, and like most sunny days, it was also a busy day. A Monday with a clear sky. Meetings were being held, stock companies were in operation, banks were open, shops were selling, and the streets were filled with cars, from the lowest taxis to the most elegant machines that had ever been put on wheels. On one of the busiest roads, people stared with awe and amazement at a number of cars pulling in. Their eyes glittered like stars as they pointed towards the road. "How magnificent," a man said as he stared at the wonder before him.On the road was a convoy of five cars. Three G-Wagons and two Range Rovers. Their window glasses were all black, with not a chance of perceiving who was within. All the other less expensive cars, seemed try their best to not go so close to them. The busy road led to a junction, which was equally as busy. The sidewalks were filled with people muttering to one another; their voices were drowned out by the sounds of blaring car ho
