CHAPTER 81: POPE AURELIAN'S PERSPECTIVES
Pope Aurelian sits down inside his private solar inside Thaloria Royal Castle, reflecting on the events that transpired right before the Great Cataclysm happened, causing the extinction of two great and powerful groups of mages that once loomed large on the history and politics of Planet Rivenfall, namely the Dragonheart Imperium, an empire consisting of dragontamer mages, located on the Cinder Churn, which was once called Dragonheart Bay, and the Scriptorium Mysticum, mostly found in the now extinct Siltherion Kingdom, before branching out to some free cities and eventually into Thaloria Kingdom, where the descendants of the survivors of the Scriptorium Mysticum are said to survive, hidden in plain sight, teaching their ancient, powerful magic to mages until the present day in quiet defiance of the Holy Church. On Pope Aurelian’s desk sits three closed books, entitled “ Great Cataclysm: The Demise Of Two Mage Groups”, “Dragonheart Imperium: A History” and “ Scriptorium Mysticum: A H
CHAPTER 82: HOUSE CAELORA INTERVENES
Magical war-horns blow, long, low, brazen and chilling to the bone, similar to the temperature in the narrow pass to the Vale of Caelora, where the Summit Tribes used to reside, before applying to be a part of the guards guarding the Caelora Citadel, a stout and strong fortress guarding at the foot of the Caelora Mountains, where a half a thousand armies smashed themselves into pieces trying to invade all the way to the Sky Cloud Citadel, high atop the Vale of Caelora. Chieftain Augustus, whom the rest of the other tribes fear and follow, blows his magic war-horn once more as they come down upon the Riverlands, as the Mountain Tribes are chosen as the vanguards of the Caeloran army. Chieftain Augustus signals to his tribe, and the rest of the tribe to form an organized wedge around him, as he notices the horselords, the slaver lords, and the slave soldiers quietly and efficiently form up ranks on their side of the Topwell River at the sight of the forces of House Caelora coming down
CHAPTER 83: A RETREAT & A COVER FIRE
House Caelora, House Topwell, House Dragonfyre, and the banner lords sworn to House Caelora, House Topwell, and House Dragonfyre relentlessly and mercilessly chase the quickly retreating slave soldiers, slaver lords and horselords out of the Riverlands all the way to the Royal Marches, amidst much fierce opposition and fierce fighting by the slaver lords, slave soldiers, and the horselords. The situation is quickly and rapidly reversed, as the slave soldiers, slaver lords, and horselords who initially enter the Riverlands as attackers and invaders suddenly become the retreating defenders overnight, in just a span of one day, forced to relinquish their stranglehold on the Riverlands and retreat back to the safety of the Royal Marches. The fleets of House Topwell, and banner Houses sworn to House Topwell chase and sink many wooden frigates belonging to the Maritime Compact, the slaver lords and the horselords all the way downriver to the Royal Marches. Upon reaching the throat of th
CHAPTER 84: LADY LEONORA BLACKMOOR'S PERSPECTIVES
Lady Leonora Blackmoor looks out of her private solar tower on Shadowpeak Citadel, in the heart of Blackmoor City. Memories of her past still race past vividly, unbidden in her mind, as if the events just happened yesterday. It all started a few years ago, when she was still no older than 18. King Alexander Cain Thaloria just won the throne, and the civil war has recently just ended, and the Thaloria Kingdom had just stabilized once again. King Alexander Cain Thaloria, at just 20 years old, had a charming smile, a calculated way of speaking, and a perfect grin that showed off his perfect white teeth, and manly voice that made girls weak at the legs. He had cleanly cut hair, which was the perfect opposite of his father's wild, shaggy hair that grew over his shoulders. And that was what made girls all over Thaloria Kingdom swoon over the young King back then, high-borns and commoners alike. She was no different, even if King Alexander Cain Thaloria had just married a distant cousin of
CHAPTER 85: THE PRINCELY ALLIANCE
Second Prince Theron meets with Third Prince Cain in an expensive restaurant in Solara Province, known for their spicy, oversized dishes spiced with chilli peppers, fine black pepper, ginger, cloves, onions, and cooked snake venom named Spicy Gobbles Restaurant. “ Fancy meeting you, here, Prince Cain. To tell you the truth, I at first expect to meet you high atop your private office at the Frostmark Governance Tower, in a formal setting. “Second Prince Theron Valeheart Thaloria, Lord Protector of Caelora Province, Warden of the Vale of Caelora, quips with dry amusement whilst looking at his brother, Third Prince Cain Vailtair Thaloria, the de facto Lord Protector of the North, and Warden of Frostmark Province. “ I grow tired of being formal, Prince Theron. All that paperwork is very tedious. And why must I soil my hands, and tire myself out with unnecessary effort, when I can let the clerks and Province Secretaries drive themselves mad signing those papers themselves? “Third Pr
CHAPTER 86: THE ROYAL MERCHANT GUILD FUNDS PRINCE THERON
“ It’s my pleasure and honor to meet you in person, Second Princess Consort Octavia Thaloria, of House Caelora. The Royal Merchant Guild wishes you the best of health. “A richly dressed, young male clerk under the employ of the Royal Merchant Guild, a young man barely in his early 20s named Alydor Allaire, a scion of the Allaire Merchant Guild Consortium from the Free City of Miravalin, says in a cultured tone, with a barely hint of accent. Alydor removes his hat and doffs it in front of Prince Theron’s wife with an elegant, flamboyant bow. “ It's my pleasure to meet you in person as well, my lord. Do pardon the absence of my husband. Second Prince Theron is meeting with Third Prince Cain to… discuss family issues and catch up on good old days. “Lady Octavia says, all charm and guile, who humors Alydor’s bow with an elegant, and almost mocking curtsy of her own, before seating herself once again inside her private solar, high atop the Sky Cloud Citadel. “ Lord? I’m no lord. I am b
CHAPTER 87: THE PIRATE & THE KNIGHT'S DARING RAID
“ Everyone, get set to work. Some valuable cargo are sitting there in the ports of the Lambert Corsairs. “Captain Adam Hook says to the rest of the modernized Shadowvale and Starhaven fleet as they raid a port owned by a corsair fleet 5 times their numbers, laden with crates of rare, precious spices whose value is similar, or even perhaps more than gold, silver, ruby, sapphires, iron, and dragon eggs. The corsair fleet, consisting of fast, magically modified galleons that have both speed and great storage capacity, is anchored off the many isles of the Corsair Isles, with the crew most likely drunk, or deep in slumber. “ Corsairs will always be corsairs. Well most of them are. Their crews lack discipline, are always half-drunk, and stumble about their tasks with sleepy, half-lidded eyes like whores who have are just finishing a hard fuck. “Captain Adam Hook laughs and mocks loudly to his walkie talkie, for half the combined fleet to hear. “ As you say, Captain Adam Hook. I belie
CAPTAIN MCGILLROY SWITCHES SIDES
“ Take it easy, everyone, and stand down, before it escalates into a bloodbath. “Captain Adam Hook says to the combined Starhaven and Shadowvale fleets, whilst the navies of Starhaven Kingdom and Shadowvale Kingdom are at high alert, warily eyeing the corsair fleet of Captain Jesse McGillroy, with their gun turrets, submarines, and missile launchers at the ready. Captain Adam Hook’s flagship sails straight towards the Golden Shark, the flagship of Captain Jesse McGillroy, and gets in close to the Golden Shark, thus letting Captain Adam Hook board the Golden Shark with a few crew members from the Starhaven Pirate, the flagship of Captain Adam Hook. Captain Adam Hook walks straight towards Captain Jesse McGillroy, just like the good old times when Captain Adam Hook was still a corsair. “ Long time no see, Captain Jesse. You're still as sharp and classy as ever. ““ And you’re still as wild and unpredictable as ever, Captain Adam. What are you doing in the Corsair Isles? Are you going
CHAPTER 89: ATTACKING HOUSE CAELORA
“ Let us launch the attack, ladies and gentlemen. Renaud Isles, Vesperia Isles, ports and isles of House Coil, House Astor ports, and Astor City are ripe for the taking. Everyone, do your best for the prestige of The Silver Talons! “The captain-general of the famed sellsword company named The Silver Talons, a certain exiled nobleman in his early 30s known only as The Sellsword Prince says, as the vast and swift, piratical fleet of The Golden Corsairs, composed of swift wooden frigates with iron hulls, and equipped with rapid fire, rapid reload ballistaes and rapid fire, rapid reload trebuchets that fire bolts and boulders imbued with fire runes, sail towards the isles and ports controlled by House Caelora in the dead of the night, in an effort to catch House Caelora, and Second Prince Theron unawares in a sudden, unannounced sneak attack. The sigil of the The Golden Corsairs, which is a golden ship with a golden skull right next to the ship on a field of blue, fly like proud banner
CHAPTER 90: HOUSE CAELORA FIGHTS BACK
“ These corsairs and sellswords grow overbold, my lords and ladies. They think they can steal our isles, ports and harbors without consequence? Let's teach them a harsh lesson. “Second Prince Theron says over his magically enhanced walkie-talkie to the assembled House Caelora Air Force, consisting of solar VTOL fighter-bombers enhanced with thunder magic runes, fire magic runes, metal magic runes, wind magic runes and dracomancer magic runes. The House Caelora Navy are in full force as well, consisting of solar Dragonheart Imperium steel frigates bristling with solar anti-air missile launchers, and solar gun turrets, enhanced with the same magic runes as that of the Caelora Air Force. There are also solar submarine packs in the House Caelora Navy, bristling with solar torpedoes that can take down a wooden frigate with one hit. The assembled crews of the House Caelora Navy, and the House Caelora Air Force, a mixture of nobility and commoners, gives a loud, lusty, and wild cheer befo
