The volunteers from the Blood Moon Academy were taken down to the courtyard, where Captain Williams’ hand-picked, elite commandos were waiting for them.Alex watched from the balcony as the whole group was divided into two teams. For this particular combat session, the focus was going to be entirely on unarmed combat, and all types of martial arts techniques were allowed without any restrictions. The elite commandos dressed in black combat vests, with tactical masks obscuring their faces, looked like formidable opponents. But the boys from the Blood Dragon Academy, wearing the classic round-necked black tees and crimson pants, didn’t seem bothered at all.“Physical evaluations indicated extreme endurance levels and elevated focus. The God Serum has enhanced these volunteers far beyond their mental and physical limits,” Dr. Lucy remarked, as she looked on from above.Standing beside her, Alex put his hands on the stone railing and replied, “Laboratory evaluations are only an indicator

The Boheco Cartel had members spread all across Nuevo Durango, and every last man was armed to the teeth. They weren’t the kind of gang even the bravest cops wanted to touch.Nuevo Durango’s chief of police was also no exception to this rule. He was about to retire in a year and had no intention of risking his neck to run a fool’s errand.“With all due respect, Governor. You are not talking about a small gang of carjackers. This is the Boheco Cartel you’re asking me to hit. They are an organized criminal community with members spread all across the city. Perhaps I can just warn their boss and—”“I know what I am talking about. The time for discussions and warnings is over!” Governor Morton snapped right back. “Xavier Cortez and his gang of peddlers and cutthroats must be brought to justice. I am authorizing you to clean up the city.”“The cartel has dangerous connections. They’ve already killed plenty of my men in the past. And they don’t even hesitate about targeting politicians,” th

With Xavier Cortez and his immediate family routed from their home, the Boheco Cartel’s leadership was effectively terminated. The cops had already arrested 50 cartel members and raided over 20 warehouses and hideouts, burning the cartel’s supplies and retrieving all kinds of contrabands, including illegal firearms and fake notes. The once-feared Boheco Cartel was now lying in the rubble of its former fearsome glory, and there wasn’t a soul in the city of Nuevo Durango who believed the cartel could ever get back up again.Even though Xavier could not be arrested, the cops finally announced the success of the cleanup operation to the media. The chief of police came in with his public statement during a major press conference.“What happened at the Cortez mansion today?”“There have been multiple reports of firing and blasts all across the city? Was this a major operation?”“Did this have something to do with the Boheco Cartel?”The questions came pouring in, one after another, barely g

The news of Lara’s interview quickly reached Governor Morton, but it was already too late by then. The same crowd that had once cheered for him and lauded his efforts to put an end to the criminal rackets operating across Ivera, now judged him in a completely different light.Several social activists and lawyers started raising slogans around his house, using inflammatory remarks to paint him as a demon.Governor Morton could see the whole commotion from his balcony, and it made his blood boil much hotter than the coffee in his cup.“You people are incorrigible. It makes me sick how you can change sides so easily,” he muttered, cursing the mob in his mind.He allowed the demonstration to continue instead of calling the cops. But he didn’t sit quietly.Closing the window and drawing the curtains, he retreated deep into his mansion and called up the chief editor of News Durango.“How dare you interview a gangster’s wife? Are you out of your God damn mind?”“I…didn’t know about this. I s

Enrico hadn’t lied or threatened. All he had done was present the bitter truth in a manner that tugged at Ginny’s heartstrings, making her sympathize with his struggles. And by doing so, he had just planted a seed in her heart. It was a seed of mistrust against her own brother. That evening, Ginny returned to their mansion as a completely different woman. She looked pale and distraught, and the storm brewing in her heart threatened to swallow her very being.Instead of going to the terrace to enjoy the soothing evening breeze and the peaceful sight of the dim moon, she headed straight to her brother’s room.“Ginny, you’re finally back from the church. What took you so long?”“I’ve been very distraught, Frank,” she replied, her voice cracking. “I saw that poor woman’s interview on the morning news. It was heartbreaking.”Frank huffed dismissively.“You shouldn’t believe everything that you hear on the news. Those channels are all after ratings. They don’t care about the truth. All they
