Allen adjusted his clothes, then walked majestically to the stage. The crowd erupted in cheers, murmurs, and whispers. "That's the heir of Silvercrest?" someone said from the crowd."He is as handsome as they claimed," another person added. Allen felt on top of the world with a big smile on his face. The Wellingtons stood, frozen and pale with no words coming out of their mouths like they had been hit by an electric shock.Katherine staggered backwards, a sharp pain filled her chest. "It can't be! Allen is not the heir of Silvercrest. Please tell me I'm right," she said, trembling. "Ryan, say something. What is Allen doing on that stage?" Karina finally spoke with her chest thumping louder than it ever had. Ryan gulped hard. "That's not possible. If Allen was truly the heir of Silvercrest, I would have known. I must put an end to this madness this instant!" Ryan raged. He stormed the stage as everyone's attention drifted to him. The Wellingtons followed behind him. "Get off tha
				CHAPTER 22: A Mystery Gift

"Yes! Allen was just a cleaner and nothing more. I don't know how he became the heir of Silvercrest because he never knew his family," Katherine explained. "Ugh!" Ryan exclaimed, hitting the wall. "This is unbelievable!" Meanwhile, the hall was now calm. "Now that the nuisance has been dealt with, let's continue with my party," Allen announced, arranging his clothes and heading for the stage again. The crowd cheered him on. "I'm sorry for what happened earlier but I'm very happy to be on this stage. It hasn't been an easy journey but finding my family was the greatest thing that happened. Thank you everyone," Allen said smiling, with his gaze fixed on his grandma who walked towards him with a hug. When the music began, Olivia walked up to Allen with a big smile. "Can I have the first dance?" Allen looked at her intensely. He had already promised Louisa a dance and he couldn't go back on his word. "Sorry Olivia, I already promised Louisa my first dance," Allen spoke calmly. O

Allen couldn't believe what he heard. Drey was the mystery gifter. He should have known! "So it was you," Allen raged. "You're being petty at this point." "You're my rival. This is what I do," Drey blurted out, laughing loudly. People said Drey was a psycho but Allen understood it better now. "Just go home, Drey. You look like you had a long day already," Allen said, folding his arms. "Too bad, you didn't invite me for your homecoming party," Drey said, laughing loudly this time. Hearing that, Allen paused. "I've had enough already," he blurted out angrily. He walked straight to his car and slammed it shut, driving away and leaving Drey to wallow in his feelings. When Allen arrived home, the first person he saw was his grandma. She looked a bit upset until she saw him. "Here you are. Olivia left some hours ago. She said you treated her badly. What did you do, Allen?" "Grandma, I didn't do anything. Olivia seems obsessed with me and she harassed a colleague today," Allen expla

"This humiliation will be over soon. I still have enough money in my bank account. I'll start life over and teach Allen a lesson," Ryan muttered, with his head still bowed. "Did you say something, Ryan?" Allen asked, in a mocking tone. "No—nothing, young master," Ryan replied quickly, afraid of being humiliated again. Allen walked away, leaving him to wallow in his thoughts. He stood up, about to leave when a notification buzzed on his phone. He slipped it out of his pocket and what he saw made him freeze in shock. "This can't be!" He raged. "How did this happen?!" CHAPTER 25: Ryan Meets Drey

The day Ryan anticipated had finally come. He looked at his watch and it was 8:30 pm. He dashed out, not telling Katherine where he was headed and soon, he located Ember's. The strange number had texted him again, asking him to order the most expensive meal on the list and it made him wonder if it was a rich person who had come to change his life. He sat and did as he was told. He looked around but no one was approaching his table so he relaxed, munching the food in front of him. Just then, a man dressed in an all black, expensive tuxedo approached him. It took a while before he could recognize who was in front of him. "D—Drey Friedrich," Ryan muttered, dropping the food immediately. "You're the person who texted me?"Drey looked at him from head to toe. "The great Ryan Davies, reduced to nothing but a mere cleaner," Drey mocked, drawing out a seat. Ryan lowered his head angrily. "If you came here to mock me, then just leave, Drey," Ryan blurted out. "I didn't come here to mock
				CHAPTER 26 We are Done!

Allen had just dropped Louisa off at her place. She walked towards her gate when Dan emerged from the shadows just like the last time. He had waited for Allen to leave, afraid that the event of the previous time would repeat itself. "What's the catch with you and that guy?" He asked, startling her. "D—Dan, what are you doing here?" Louisa asked back with a sigh of relief. "You almost scared me." "I don't like seeing you with that guy, Louisa. I don't like repeating myself!" Dan roared. Louisa scoffed. "It seems you're forgetting that we are no longer together. We are done!" She sneered, walking straight to the gate. He pulled her back, twisting her arm while she groaned in pain. "You think I would let you go so easily huh? I will never stop coming after you," he threatened and she yanked his hands off. "Allen warned you the last time to stay away from me. He would deal with you this time!" Louisa blurted out. She wanted to slip her phone out to dial Allen's number. Dan imme

"Aunty, we didn't come for lunch. We've already eaten our fill," Jose explained. "Nonsense! When have you ever rejected my cooking? You'd better make an extra space in your belly," she responded with a chuckle. She made them sit at the dining table where meals of different kinds were lined up. While eating, Jose started. "Aunt, we're looking for a house. It's urgent.""What? You want to throw your city lifestyle away to come live in our simple neighborhood," Aunt Nancy responded sharply. "No, Aunt, it's for a friend. It's a long story but she needs a place to stay while we figure something out," Jose told her and she got calm for a minute. "You should have said so. I have an empty house down the street. She can move in tomorrow if she wants," Aunt Nancy said, beaming. "Thank you, Aunty. We really appreciate this," the two of them chorused. Just then, Aunt Nancy's husband, Uncle James stormed in, wearing a devastated look. The three of them stared at him, wondering what the pro

"He—he escaped," Jose muttered. "Shhhh, you're losing so much blood. Let me take you to the hospital. We'll find Dan later," Allen said clenching his fists, his eyes red and imagining the unspeakable things he would do to Dan. He tore a piece of his shirt, wrapped Jose's arm and helped him into the car. In seconds, they were on their way to the hospital.Jose had been asleep for about an hour. He finally opened his eyes, trying to understand where he was. "You're awake," Allen spoke, rushing to his side. "What happened with you and Dan?""He stabbed me with a knife. Allen scoffed, adjusting his clothes. "You're here with your newest associate," Allen said, his gaze fixed on Ryan. "Let's see who would walk out of here defeated." He walked straight in, not minding them leaving the two to grit their teeth in anger. Soon, everyone was seated in the large hall. Quietness filled the air. A man stood, clearing his throat to speak. "Business owners are gathered here from around the country. Every one of you have shown great prowess in the industry." "I must say, a collaboration with Silvercrest won't be bad. I have heard so much about the new heir making waves in just a few months," another man said as he rose. "I deal with furniture and home accessories for comfort. I would love to collaborate with Silvercrest hotel." Hearing that, a smile crept to Allen's lips. Drey and Ryan muttered to themselves.
