Chapter 31
Several large, intimidating men suddenly stopped when they noticed William and Evan standing beside their car, both looking as though they had no idea what was happening. “Hey, did you two see someone running this way?” one of the men asked. Evan was about to answer. “We didn’t…” “We did,” William quickly interrupted. He pointed toward the opposite side of the road. “He ran that way.” The men immediately turned in the direction William had pointed. “Let’s go! We can’t let him get away!” The group hurried off, leaving William and Evan alone beside the car. Evan finally turned toward William with a confused expression. “Why did you lie to them?” he whispered. “What if the person they’re chasing owes them money or something?” William shook his head. “No. I have a feeling those men aren’t here for anything good. We should find the person they were chasing and ask him what happened.” Evan stared at him. “Weren’t you the one who just said we shouldn’t get involved?” William didn’t
Chapter 32
“Are you feeling better?” William asked as he continued preparing dinner. Sean sat quietly at the table, staring at the glass of warm ginger drink in front of him. He looked much calmer than before, but he still seemed lost in his thoughts. Looking at Sean reminded William of Angelo, Carmen’s younger brother. Angelo was also the type of handsome young man people often described as pretty. They didn’t look alike, but both had unusual facial features that made them stand out. William figured that was probably one of the reasons Sean had become so popular. Of course, not everyone appreciated that kind of beauty. Some people could be strangely hateful toward anyone who looked different from what they considered normal. William wasn’t surprised that Sean had attracted a few dangerous people, especially since celebrities often had overly obsessed fans. Even Carmen, who wasn’t a celebrity, had once dealt with a stalker. William carried a plate of warm rice and slightly spicy chicken curry

William stayed quiet as Sean argued with his manager over the phone. From the way Sean’s face changed during the conversation, it was obvious that nothing was going well. His expression became more desperate with every passing second, and even after the call ended, he looked like he had no idea what to do next. William still didn’t understand why he had somehow become caught between Sean, his agency, and the people who were trying to kill him. But walking away was not something he could bring himself to do. He couldn’t simply pretend none of this had anything to do with him. Sean reminded William of himself from years ago. Back then, William had also been desperate, frightened, and convinced that he was completely alone. His only concern had been finding a way out of whatever terrible situation he was facing. He remembered how helpless he had felt when false accusations were made against his father and his parents died one after another. Then there was his desperate older brother, w

Chapter 35
(Hello?) “Devano Hanzel, right?” (Who are you? Where’s Sean? Did you kidnap him?) Sean immediately stopped trying to take the phone from William. Instead, he listened closely to Deva’s voice. Even through the phone, his worry was obvious. “How do you know Sean was kidnapped? He wasn’t kidnapped,” said William. (Don’t lie! Sean’s manager told me he was kidnapped, and you must be the kidnapper, right? I’ll track Sean’s number…) “Hey, idiot! Sean is being chased by a hired killer, and it seems like it’s the work of your fanatical fans. If you have any shame, come here alone. Help your friend, or if you don’t want to, I’ll help him instead, and when I meet you, I’ll beat you up! Your friend is being chased by a hired killer, and you just stand there? What kind of friend are you? He’s suffering because of your fans! Should I, who just met him, be the one to help him? You jerk!” (Wait a minute… what are you talking about? Killer?) “Ugh, you idiot… I’ll send you all the evidence Sean
Chapter 36
“So that’s how it is? But why did Sean’s manager say he was kidnapped? He even asked me to contact Sean and ask him where he was. But don’t worry, I didn’t give him your address. I told Sean’s manager that I couldn’t contact Sean. But… I don’t know any fanatics like the ones you’re talking about,” Deva said after William explained everything that had happened to Sean, including the threats, the hired killers, and the way Sean’s manager and agency had responded to the situation. Devano Hanzel belonged to the same agency as Sean, while Sean’s other friend, Travis Averdo, had recently started working under his own new agency. “Of course those fans won’t show their bad side to you; they only act that way toward Sean. But haven’t you ever been close to anyone else besides Sean? Maybe they’re also being terrorized by the same threats,” William asked. Deva sighed and stared toward the horizon without saying anything for a moment. The sun was beginning to rise, slowly brightening the sky a

William set a warm latte down in front of Jake, who was busy working in the apartment’s living room. Although Jake looked comfortable in casual clothes, which William had specifically asked him to wear instead of his usual office attire, the amount of work he was handling was impressive. William now understood why the system had recommended Jake to him. Jake was extremely capable, and William was equally confident that Daniel would work well with Evan if given the opportunity. Evan had come to William’s apartment the previous night, but the moment he saw Sean sitting there with an empty expression, he couldn’t bring himself to stay. Evan had been excited to see Sean and wanted to catch up with him, but Sean clearly wasn’t in the mood to talk. In the end, Evan returned to his own apartment because he didn’t want to make things harder for him. William couldn’t tell Evan about Sean’s problems. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust him. He simply didn’t want to burden Evan with another problem
Chapter 38
“Why are you laughing? Is there something funny about what I said?” Andre asked, his face turning red with anger. He had been the one provoking William, yet he couldn’t understand why William wasn’t taking him seriously. [Your first mission today is to kick Andre out of your building, and make sure everyone knows that you are the owner of the building.] [Your reward is a luxury car and an additional 10 points to your reputation.] The mission had finally arrived, exactly when William wanted it. He had been hoping for something like this because he wanted to gain a reward while dealing with Andre at the same time. After everything Andre had put him through in the past, William considered this fair compensation. Besides, when would he ever get a luxury car just for throwing someone out of his own building and embarrassing him? “Of course it’s funny, Andre! Don’t you know who I am?” William asked, deliberately copying the same arrogant tone Andre had used when William was at his lowest
Chapter 39
“Alright, I’ll trust you, Mr. Andrew. If you ever want to sell the building again, you can tell me.” “Hahaha, of course, Mr. Hudson.” Jake had remained quiet throughout the entire conversation, but he still couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed. Andrew was a well-known businessman, yet he seemed determined to earn William’s trust. Jake suddenly felt that he had to work even harder if he wanted William to trust him to the same extent. Another hour passed before William and Jake finally left the building. [Your main mission to establish the company is complete!] [The system will send information about your father to your apartment to ensure information security.] [Your main mission has been updated.] [Your current main mission is to earn $500,000 or more within one month, no more.] [If you succeed, the second piece of information about your father will be provided.] For the moment, William just wanted to relax. The new main mission sounded difficult enough, and earning hal

[Your second mission today is to save a restaurant from being seized by loan sharks. Become an investor who can turn that small restaurant into a big one!] [You have one week from now. If you succeed, your reward will be a building worth more than ten million dollars.] [Will you accept this mission or reject it outright?] [If you fail, the system will take five million dollars from your account.] Helping a small restaurant that was about to be seized wasn’t difficult for William. He could easily pay off the debt. But turning that little restaurant into a successful business was another matter entirely. Especially when he only had one week to do it. Still, the reward was huge, so William naturally accepted the challenge. Besides, even if he failed and lost five million dollars, it wouldn’t ruin him. He currently had more than enough money in his accounts, especially if he decided to sell all the Vircoins he owned. So, there was really no reason not to try. “I’ll pay you, but giv
