The Lap Was Something Else
“Meanwhile, as we lay low, trying to prevent Leonard—whose eyes are all over the city—from noticing us, why don’t we make some research about Leonard, knowing more about him, and this would pave a Clearer way for us to locate the people who had helped him orchestrate the evil act against your father?” Though Henry didn’t want to go straight to the point and conclude that Leonard was the one behind Nathan’s father’s death, he preferred to do some digging first, and this diggings could lead to more darker sight that would make everything even more interesting. Nathan nodded agreeing to Henry's suggestion. “I will be grateful if you help me bring down those bastards.” He clenched his fist tightly.Henry gave a calm smile. “Let’s take things gradually. First of all, I’ll show you your room. Tomorrow, we can continue focusing on the matter, as well begin strategizing. It’s already getting late, and I know you have gone through a lot of stress today so you need some rest.”Nathan was ta
Research Facility
“This very symbol, I’ve seen it somewhere. I saw it before I was arrested by the police. This symbol has something to do with me.” Nathan panicked, pointing at the sign carved on the wall.Henry took a deep breath before speaking. “Sir, that symbol is not just an ordinary mark. It’s tied to the very reason I saved you. This is the emblem of your father’s life’s work—Project Sky. And this very underground building was built for that purpose.”Nathan, who had never heard the name project sky before, stared at Henry with a raised brow.“Project Sky?” he asked inwardly, then glanced around the room again.“For now, I advise you to return to your room, it will be much better if we talk about it tomorrow. You’re under stress and need some rest,” Henry insisted. Nathan nodded and went back to his room, though he had no choice, and apart from that, his mind was still unsettled about the symbol he had seen. The next morning—or what seemed like morning, because they were still buried undergro
Gunfire
“Don’t be startled by my words lord Nathan. I wasn’t just a butler for your father but also a man who could protect him,” Henry said, raising his shoulders with a knowing gesture.“I want you to stay here while I go have a little chat with the guard,” Henry told Nathan, and Nathan nodded.Though Nathan didn’t even want to get close to the man with the rifle—he was scared, he didn't even know how he had agreed to sign for something this dangerous. Henry walked over to the security guard, and the moment the guard saw him, he quickly raised his gun and pointed it at Henry.“This is a private area. You’re not allowed here, so get yourself out before you make the greatest mistake of your life,” the guard instructed, he wasn't smiling and he meant his words. “Hehe, chill, fellow. I’m not here for chit chat neither follow instructions from you. I’m here to talk with your boss, so where is he?” Henry replied casually.“Back off or I will shoot, I'm not joking around with this gun I'm holdin
System Intervention
"Shit… I can’t let that bastard run,” Henry gritted his teeth, then rushed to the window, he tried to look out, only to see Alaric running toward his car with his wife and child. If Henry didn’t do anything about it, Alaric would get away for sure and Henry wasn’t ready to take that risk. Henry fired shots in their direction, but soon lost sight of them. Even so, he was determined to follow and promised to get hold of them. So he jumped out of the window and chased after Alaric.Meanwhile, Nathan was surrounded by multiple men shooting at him. The force of the bullets broke through the concrete, and Nathan’s heart beat every second in panic. His body trembling, almost urinating on his pants. Nathan had nothing to defend himself with. His only hope was that Henry would come to his rescue, but his heart shattered even more when Henry ignored him completely and chased after Alaric. Henry was supposed to be his protector, appointed by his father—if the story Henry told him was even true
Answers Or Torture
Nathan neglected what Henry said, then gripped the door handle where the wife and child were trapped on then yanked it off. At this point, Henry, realizing Nathan wouldn’t leave without saving the child and wife, decided to advance with his plan, he had got hold of alaric and that's the main thing he was concerned about. Henry carried the already unconscious Alaric toward the car they had parked, then put him inside and locked the door. But he made sure he tied his body, so he wouldn't wake up and attack him. “You’re safe now, ma’am,” Nathan said gently after pulling Alaric’s wife and child out of the car, and taking them to safety. “Why did you save us?” she asked. Alaric's wife had seen Nathan as their enemy and she wasn't expecting him to help her. Nathan smiled at her words, then shifted his gaze to the little ten-year-old boy standing beside her slightly bleeding from his nose. And just as Nathan eyes met with the boy, In an instant, a surge of memories cut through his hea
Pain Of Torture
“Hehehe, scared, right? The tools aren’t gonna beg for answers from you. They’re gonna make you talk, since that’s what you prefer, I will be glad to make you enjoy the moment,” Henry smirked. The table Henry had brought was lined with torture equipment, including a wire cable, connected to an inverter that could release high voltage of electricity, when touched with a human body. This electric torture equipment is very effective. When used on a victim, the victim could lose their life or even worse, it feels like your skin burns from the inside to the outside. Nathan just stared seeing what Henry was about to do. He couldn’t imagine how harsh Henry could be. He wanted to intervene, but the vengeance lingering in his mind wouldn’t allow it. He also wanted the same goal which is making those who had made him feel pained and forgotten, have a glimpse on how it feels. One side of Nathan urged him to help, while the other whispered to stand back and let them suffer, not only suffer but
Tears Of Betrayal
The access key Alaric had given to Henry contained information about the people working for Leonard. Leonard’s exact location wasn’t revealed in the information inside the database, but Henry believed that, by hunting these people which they had identified by the information provided, they could force them to talk, and having different sides of the story could eventually uncover the secret hideout of Leonard. After everything that had happened, Nathan returned to his room. But what Alaric had told him about not trusting Henry kept hammering at his mind. The thought refused to leave him, denying him rest. After a while of thought, torment and confusion, Nathan rose from his bed, his intention clear: he needed to confront Alaric, to ask more questions. It seemed Alaric knew far more than he could have imagined.“I have no choice,” Nathan whispered to himself. “I have to ask him. I need to know why I shouldn’t trust Henry. He’s just a man I met recently, someone who claims to know my fa
Spending Time Alone
Henry moved a little closer to Nathan and patted him on the shoulder then smiled faintly.“All this is now in the past. You are a new person—built differently, unique. Pour out your rage on whoever wronged you, and make them pay.”Henry’s advice was precise: make them pay, one way or another.Nathan’s fist clenched, but not from a desire to kill anyone or take revenge. It was because of Laura. He had loved her so deeply. Even with all the maltreatment he had endured from her, he still held onto hope that one day she would realize he was hers, and love him back the way he had always wanted.Nathan shifted his gaze toward Henry and demanded, “It’s been weeks now, and I haven’t walked around the town. It’s getting boring here. Can I please go out and relax? Maybe have a single thought within me and myself about the revenge of a thing.”“Young lord, you know that’s a very risky move you’re telling me to consider, what you are trying to do is suicide,” Henry protested. “Leonard’s men are e
Can't Take Chances
Nathan ordered two extra vanilla ice creams, one for himself and one for the woman. He walked towards her, and the moment she noticed the boy beside Nathan, she gently pulled him to the side.“Please air, don't pick an offence, if my son must have bothered you, He’s just hungry, that’s why,” the woman apologised, her voice trembling. She saw her son with the ice-cream and she knew he didn't have money to buy something like that, so she assumed that he must have taken it forcefully from Nathan or might have begged for it. “No, it’s nothing,” Nathan replied, gently shaking his head with a grin. “Here, have this,” he insisted softly, handing the ice cream he had bought to the woman. The woman stared at it as if she had never tasted such a thing before. Though she always bought ice cream for her son—who seemed to love it so much, even if it cost her the very last of her money—she herself had never once tasted it.The woman took it from his hands, hesitated for some seconds before licki
Love And Drunkeness
The woman who looked so much like Laura was badly drunk as well and it looks like she had been in the bar since before Nathan stepped in. Her head tilted downward as though burdened by something, as if she had come to the bar to clear her mind.Suddenly, she gradually raised her head, and her gaze caught Nathan who was about to leave. He quickly pulled his eyes away, but she had already seen him, and this made him adjust himself, relaxing back on his seats, trying to fake out a pretense, making it not seem awkward. This made Nathan very curious, and he wanted to leave in that instant, he stared around, looking for an opening to exit but the place was somewhat crowded. And if he didn't leave, he would only mess everything up. On the other hand, Nathan was still on a slightly saver side because of the nose mask he was wearing, so Laura wouldn't still fully recognise who he was, this alone gave him a little relief to remain calm.“I have to keep up with this act, so she won’t suspect I
