Chapter20: The beginning of the end
Elsewhere, under a sky full of clouds, the Guardians team, led by Maher, gathered. Their eyes held unwavering determination, as each of them had witnessed innocent lives falling victim to the chaos. Maher listened to Mohammed's detailed account of what was happening, but he wasn't surprised. He had known for a long time that this day would come, and that the demon of hatred wouldn't be content with just creeping into souls; it would take over the entire city unless someone intervened. Their mission was clear: to stop this demon and expose the entity pulling its strings before the city was reduced to ruins of hatred and blood. The team followed Raad, who led the way with confident steps as if navigating a labyrinth he knew by heart. The air was thick with tension, and every member was cautiously watching their surroundings. Maher felt the weight of responsibility; unity was their only shield in this situation. Above them, Lian's falcon soared gracefully, its sharp eyes scanning the
Chapter21: The Ambush: Battle of the Beginning)
In a huff, Sarah walked near Layan and whispered, "Is my brother flirting with you?" Layan was shocked by the question and stopped dead in her tracks, staring at Sarah. Sarah rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Yeah, like it's not obvious. We all know he's flirting with you... Don't act surprised." She continued walking, catching up with the others, which infuriated Layan. Layan ran after her, grabbing her and pulling her back. "You can't just say that and walk away like you did nothing." Sarah feigned innocence. "What did I say? What did I do?" Layan hissed through clenched teeth, "We all?! Who are you? And what gave you that idea?" Sarah smirked with irritation, "His actions and your eyes give you away... Listen, I don't mind. You're not so bad, and I think my mom will like you... But I'm mad about one thing... Why is he getting in my way? I really like Major Muhammad... Why does he forbid me from something he allows himself?" She threw out her last words with a mix of jealousy an
Chapter22: The Tipping Point
Maher was shackled in chains, but this time, he was neither afraid nor unsure. He was confident in Maher's prowess in combat and his ability to defeat the dark shadows... the Savens. "That smile won't last long, Saber!" Timur shouted angrily when he saw Saber's confident grin. "The ones you're waiting for won't be coming back. I've cornered them in that forest, and they'll never be able to get out." "Ignorance is a blessing for some people," Saber said mockingly. "You're still the same, Timur, and you'll never change. Your selfishness and overconfidence in your own actions make you believe you're right, while you're drowning in error from head to toe." Timur lunged forward, grabbing Saber by the collar. "Listen to me, you senile old man. I couldn't care less what you think of me. Once I get the Seal you stole from me, you'll beg for my forgiveness, but by then, it will be too late for remorse." "You mean the Seal you stole, and I reclaimed from you," Saber corrected him sharply. "
Chapter23:The Shadow's Grasp
The ground trembled with the echo of the gunshot as Taymour squeezed the trigger. The bullet shot out of the pistol's muzzle like a flash of lightning, cleaving the air toward Saber's chest. But in that crucial moment, Maher lunged forward like a meteor, his body shimmering with a blinding flash of light. He extended his arm with incredible speed, grabbing his uncle and pulling him away. The bullet pierced the cave wall behind them, scattering into sharp fragments. Saber gasped in shock, unable to believe he was still alive. Meanwhile, Taymour quickly summoned his men. "Capture Maher! I want him alive!" Maher swiftly used a laser beam to free his uncle Saber's bonds and pulled him to safety behind a rock. "Uncle, stay here and don't expose yourself to danger. He doesn't want you; he wants what I have." A ferocious smile spread across Taymour's lips. "You can't escape! You've walked right into your own demise!" he screamed. Suddenly, Sven the Vile released his shadows, which spread
Chapter24: Cursed Forest
Maher’s companions, the Protectors, infiltrated a mountain where Timur had imprisoned those who had failed to submit to his experiments. Masked guards with jagged daggers stood outside the cells. Raad, hiding behind a small rock, whispered, “They aren’t human; they’re Shadows. Their daggers are poisoned, and our guns are useless against them.”Mohammed frowned, “What do you suggest, then?”Raad pointed proudly to his massive body, which looked as though it were made of solid clay. “Their daggers won't affect me. Look, there are twelve of them.”Mohammed gazed at them. “I have a plan. You'll attack the one standing in a blind spot. Then I'll get his weapon, and we'll take them all down together.”“You can't do that!” Raad protested. “If their dagger so much as scratches you, you won't survive. Let me attack him and get his dagger for you.”Mohammed nodded in agreement. Raad began to execute the plan. Once he successfully obtained a weapon, he gave it to Mohammed, and together, they att
Chapter25: The Triumph of Will
He was crucified on a flat table, which he knew to be a dissecting table by its feel. He was shackled, his hands and feet bound, and his eyes covered with a black blindfold that plunged his vision into darkness. Maher breathed with difficulty through his nose, his mouth still stuffed with fabric to prevent his screams. He was indeed a prisoner of Timur's evil. All he could truly think about was what would happen to humanity after him. What would happen to his family, relatives, and loved ones? If Maher lost this battle, it meant the world had lost, that evil had triumphed over good. Maher took a deep breath; he had to fight to his last breath. He wouldn't surrender, and even if he lost, he would die standing, without retreat or submission. Timur's voice pierced the silence; it seemed he had returned, ready to begin his wicked plan. Maher felt a cold gust of air on his bare chest. He was planning to steal the Seal. The Seal was protected by a fortified spell, and Timur couldn't get it
Chapter 26:The Shadow's Curse
Maher had tightly bound Timur. The threat of Timur was now gone, and his men had either fled after seeing their leader’s defeat or fought to the death. Maher was as swift and light as a shadow. He didn't want to kill them, but they had been turned into monsters by Timur's experiments. Perhaps if they had surrendered, there might have been a chance for them. So, he had to eliminate them one by one to continue his mission, for which he had trained: to destroy Savin of Hate. --- Layan returned on the back of her bird, exhausted. Indeed, she had not been able to find the exit portal from this forest. Everyone was waiting for her, but looking at her face, they understood that her attempt had failed. The Guardians who had rescued them were a great help; after they regained their strength, they joined them in searching for an exit and bravely fought the shadows and savage monsters. With their strength and unity, they overcame them. Layan asked in frustration: "What are we going to do now,
Chapter 27: explosion of hatred
As soon as Maher finished uttering the incantation, the trees began to sway violently, as if an unseen force was pushing them. Their branches hit each other with a terrifying screeching sound. The air whistled mournfully, dragging behind it dry leaves that swirled into a raging vortex, rising from the ground in a frightening spiral. The ground began to tremble beneath Maher's feet, cracking as if it was about to swallow him and everything around him. The sky was covered with dark shadows, hiding the sun's disk as if it had been blotted out. The shadows began to gather and undulate like the blackest of sea waves. They coiled and rose, forming a terrifying entity—a Saven of Hatred, similar to the Saven of Oblivion but far more hideous, with prominent red eyes, long sharp fangs, and thick gray lips. His long ears protruded from the black hood that fell from his head to his feet, concealing the ugliness of his body, which was revealed by his massive, long, octopus-like arms. His appearan
Chapter 28: Sacrifice on the Edge of the Abyss”
The Protectors’ strength had waned, and they lost all hope of Maher returning to save them. Their power had been drained to the very last drop, while the Harjawan strutted arrogantly, his heavy footsteps shaking the ground. His piercing screams deafened the ears, as though he were announcing his victory and his dominion over the forest and everything within it. With one last look of despair and defeat, Lian gazed at the team of Protectors: some had suffered minor wounds, others bore deep, life-threatening injuries, and some had already breathed their last with no word left to say. Sara whispered, clutching Lian’s hand tightly. “Lian, I need to confess something to you.” Lian looked at her with a faint, weary smile etched on her exhausted face. “So, this is the end… and only now you wish to confess?” Sara laughed weakly. “If this is the end, at least I’ll have unburdened my heart. But if we survive… you must forget every word I’ve said.” Lian nodded in agreement. “Tell me, wha
Chapter 29: "The Ring of the Covenant
Maher laughed softly. "Do you think we've died and gone to heaven? Not yet, my friend. We still have a long way to go. Wake up and gather your strength." Raad let out the breath he hadn't realized he was holding, shouting with immense joy, "Damn it, man... just in the nick of time! I never thought seeing you would make me this happy." They both laughed as Al-Tha'aqib headed back to the others. --- Sarah was feeling frustrated and Layan was comforting her, while Muhammad's condition worsened due to the spreading poison. "Why can't I see anything? I can't lose my ability at this critical moment." Al-Tha'aqib's voice rang out as it descended towards them like a hawk. Layan and Sarah rushed forward, waiting for it to land. As soon as Layan's eyes fell upon Maher, she screamed with happiness and threw herself into his arms. "Brother! Oh my God, I thought you were dead! Why were you so late? We missed you so much," she sobbed again. Layan breathed a sigh of relief; their leader had f
